Av Nails

Went here for the first time. Compared to my usual joint (visiting from San Diego), this place is horrible. Especially considering that the prices are the same. I don’t like that they don’t use disposable liners. They don’t have much of a selection of nail polish to choose from. My pedicure was done in a hurry… Didn’t seem like they had enough people working to handle the clients. It was all very rushed and not at all relaxing. My polish job is just mediocre, she missed putting the second coat over the first coat in several places. The worst part is, they weren’t even friendly. I will make sure to get my pedicures at home before I come to visit next time.

I really enjoy this place, I have gone here a few times and continue to go here. The staff are very nice and polite and know how to really make you feel welcome. I do like a good pedicure! I would recommend them they are reasonably priced and really know how to make ya feel great!

Really like this place. I get my nails done there as well as lashes. I don’t think you can beat the value.

This is the best nail salon (for the price) I’ve ever been to. I moved here two years ago and happened to live across the street, so I popped in and have never looked back!
Everyone is so friendly and passionate about what they’re doing. I always get compliments on my nails and I refer to them every time.
Great place and fantastic prices! Give them a try if you’re looking for a new salon.

Pretty nice. My daughter got a mani pedi with color and decorations. Had little trouble with stickers on toes. Besides that the ladies were very nice and gentle with her I think I will start going here myself. Some of the girls english is not so good so becareful and pay attention. There not ignoring you. I notice someone said that they were ignored here. They never ignored us at all. In fact they seemed pretty popular. They said hello and seated everyone immediately I seen. Anyways they took there time and let my daughter pick out what she wanted. My daughter almost fell asleep.

The first time I walked through their doors they took a while to acknowledge me and didn’t tell me how long the wait would be. I could tell it would be a long time so I came back later. When I did come back I asked for some facial waxing.
The lady was nice (Lisa) but she either didn’t understand English or ignored me. She would only nod and point to the chair.
I asked her to put a pre product on me as my skin is sensitive. She nodded and pointed to the chair.
She didn’t put any pre product on me, did not clean my skin, or clean her hands first. She did not change the sheet from the previous client.
The wax pot temperature was definitely too high. She double dipped the wooden stick, and blew on it too cool it down. She also waxed parts of my face that I did not ask for, and that don’t grow hair… which I thought was strange.
I was mortified by the lack of sanitation! I am a licensed cosmetologist so I have been trained in waxing and wax my clients all the time. I was on vacation and just stopped in here as I don’t know any business establishments in the area.
Now I know why the service was only $ 5.
This salon definitely needs to be trained in sanitation.
As for their nail services– they must be good. There was a long wait for them.

This place got the job done but I wasn’t terribly pleased with the experience and because there are so many nail salons in the world, I’ll have to try my luck elsewhere next time. Although my toes look great (hence 3 stars), my gel mani looked days old before I even left… didn’t get all the way to the bottom/​looked grown out already/​& the tips of 3 of my nails are uneven… Just overall a disappointing experience.

I love this place! It looks like any other nail salon but they do an exceptional job.
They are so talented, and my nails stay nice for a very long time. When my daughters are in town, we all go over for some serious gal time. Not that it’s all about «gal time.»
There are plenty of men there — working there, having their nails done — it’s a total bro-​fest at times. Look at your toenails, guys — you need this. You know you do. Why not go somewhere that they’ll do a really great job?!
The problem is, of course, is that everyone knows how great they are — so it gets pretty crowded on Saturday.

Oh, AV Nails. How I love thee! I’m actually surprised not to see any other reviews for this salon, as they have a pretty large following of dedicated customers. I’ve had GREAT experiences and TERRIBLE experiences at nail salons, and in my opinion, AV is in the top tier in St. Charles County. It’s not the most incredible salon I’ve ever been to, but it’s definitely in the top 10%.
Linda and Ben are the owners of this salon and they are wonderful! I’ve had almost every technician in the shop work on my nails, and while they are all wonderful, I generally prefer Ben. He gives the MOST wonderful pedicures (I almost fell asleep) and fills. I mentioned ONCE that I preferred him and almost every time since then, they try to get me in with him. I’ve never had to say anything more about it. I think that shows a lot of customer care and am impressed by it. Linda is also really wonderful! She’s much more serious than her husband, but very precise. My mom and my cousin both prefer her over others, so I guess it’s just a matter of personal preference.
I generally use AV for fills and waxing (both eyebrows and lip), with an occasional pedicure thrown in. I HATE waxing (I have incredibly sensitive skin) but have always felt well cared for here. I’m sad to say I don’t know the name of the girl who usually waxes me (and I’ve worked with her often enough to be too embarrassed to ask!) but she is wonderful! Very precise and QUICK. I’m usually out of the waxing chair within 5 minutes and have never had any complaints about the outcome. I have also ventured out and tried their gel color, which I LOVE. I generally also get the clear gel covering when I have a french set, and they always keep up well.
I love AV because they do wonderful work, but also because they are genuinely nice people. You don’t always find that in a shop. They truly get to know you and look forward to you coming in. Please feel free to stop by and share your experience when you do! Tell them Michelle sent you. :)
