Stefanina’s Express

This is our first visit and sadly our last. I actually think this is probably a pretty good place, but we had some serious bad luck. My boyfriend and I ordered the Steph special sub and the Steph special pizza to share and also side salad. Props in the pizza and salad. Very good. The salami in the sub was bad. I am not being picky. It smelled like a dead animal. I took it up and gave to who I believe was a manager. He even smelled it and knew I was right. No big deal, was not going to make a big case of it. We were refunded our sandwich. Before leaving my boyfriend used the restroom and watched a roach run down the wall. Well, needless to say, after he told me that we decided to ditch the remaining pizza that we were going to take home.
I do feel badly about this, but food safety is a serious thing. I could never in good conscience go back.

The team at Stef’s I’m sure are well intended but they missed the mark. Not only did they hand me the wrong carry out order, which was unknown until I got home, they then suggested I responded to the wrong name when the server approached me with the bag, not true. So they tried to make it right by sending correct order, when I opened the pizza box, it was so undercooked, whatever angle it was at in transit made it look like a mudslide, most the cheese and toppings had slid off the dough «crust». By this time too frustrated to pick up the phone. It had been while since ordering from there. Can’t imagine going back.

For the first time I was very disappointed in the pizza! Steph’s special to be exact! Sorry folks, my wife can do better than this!

Yummmmm! So good! I adore the food here. The pizza is some of the best I’ve ever had. I got their large speciality pizza with no mushrooms and had to convince myself not to eat the entire thing. The prices are great and the service is even better. It’s quaint place, easily overlooked but well worth the stop.

This place does have good pizza, however, that’s the only thing you should order. Pasta sauces are bland, sandwiches are soggy, and my salad was delivered to me with the dressing already tossed. Who does that?! Also, unless it’s pizza, don’t expect to get hot food delivered. It’s always cold. Service is mediocre.

If you love STL style pizza this place is a must, i think its better than IMOs and better priced!

Being from out of town and using Unilocal to find great food I stumbled across this amazing pizza place. We got it delivered which was quick.
I am new to the STL style pizza and I’m going to say I’m very going back to thick crust! We got an extra large sausage, mushroom and onion. The sauce on this pizza was mind blowing! It had a cheese layer that reminds us of the cheese sauce you get on top of Mexican food. The crust had a hint of cinnamon and flour on the bottom that was left on your hands just as a reminder that it homemade:)) finally they use real mushrooms not canned! We also got the breaded mushrooms and ranch. Wow. Amazing
We won’t be living close to this location but it will be worth with drive for sure:)

Stefanina’s has some of the best pizza in St. Louis. I went to the original location decades ago. The Express location at Zumbehl is just as good. Awesome food. Great pasta. The meat lovers pizza is addictive.

The best pizza in town. This location always has plenty of toppings and the crust has that little extra flour on the bottom that allows the crust to get a little crunchy but not curled up or over cooked.
We went to another Stefaninas on Jungerman and liked it as well but the pizza at this Zumbehl location is my favorite. We do pizza here about once every 3 weeks and find they have a cult following of real pizza lovers.
I have had Pizza at a lot of, the best known pizza joints all over St. Louis and this my new favorite.

The baked pasta wasn’t that great. Pizza looked better. Staff was friendly. The Chicken Parmesan was good. Salad was not very good-​poured out of a bag with cheese on top.

We ordered a hamburger pizza to be delivered to our motel. It took 40 minutes to get it which seemed like a long time. There was a lot of flour on the bottom of the crust. There was no flavor to the pizza crust, pizza sauce, or even the hamburger. We will not be ordering pizza here again. It was our first trip and our last.

I have been to Stef’s a handful of times and haven’t been disappointed. I’ve had pizzas, Stef’s house salad (Stef’s house dressing is very tasty), lasagna, pasta con broccoli (favorite!), and toasted ravioli. Every one of these was delicious. I live in St. Louis County so no delivery here, but the service in house is always quick, and the prices are very reasonable.
I should also mention that Stef’s catered my wedding almost a year ago and they exceeded my expectations. Their catering prices are excellent, and they delivered all the way to my reception venue in Wentzville. The pizzas were baked on site so they were hot and delicious (melty provel… mmm)!
They provide disposable dinnerware if you want it, but we used real dishes instead. The catering staff even rinsed all of the dishes for us when dinner was done and wrapped up the leftover pizzas for us to take home.
We got an incredible value by choosing Stefanina’s and I recommend them highly whether it’s for dine-​in, carryout, or catering!

Ordered for delivery with the hubster on a (very) cold night. Perfect for PJs and pizza! Stef’s delivers (yay). Delivery time was reasonable (50 min) and food arrived hot and fresh. I am not a particular fan of provel, but my husband is and he really liked the pizza (the things I do for love!). The crust was crisp and the toppings were well-​proportioned. Certainly better than Imo’s. I was seriously impressed with the house salad; the dressing was delicious. Definitely the new go-​to delivery joint.

Ordered for delivery once and didn;t really like it.
Pros: Big portions, good value. Salad was fresh
Cons: Value, didn’t make up for very mediocre italian food

Called for delivery and service was good. Awful salad. For 5.95 you get lettuce, cheese and one cherry tomato.

It’s the first really chilly evening of Fall, the first game of the World Series is tonight, and my husband has a class tonight so I’m on my own for dinner. What a perfect evening for some St. Louis style pasta!
Before I left work, I jumped on-​line and ordered in just a few minutes. It’s not a fancy web site, but it’s fast and easy. Of course, I ordered my favorite dish — cannelloni with red sauce. When I arrived 20 minutes later, it was hot and ready and packed up very securely — stapled into a paper sack, not in a flimsy plastic bag. The girls at the counter were fast and friendly — I was in and out in less than five minutes.
The cannelloni came with a generous salad topped with mozzarella, and I chose Parmesan pepper dressing. It was crisp and fresh, and the dressing was thick and tasty. A nice chunk of Italian bread with butter accompanied the salad.
I love St. Louis style cannelloni, and this did not disappoint. It was a good-​sized portion and stuffed with a combo of veal, beef and pork. There was a lot of red sauce and cheese, and it really hit the spot on this cold, chilly day.
The portions were very large — and probably big enough for two… but you won’t want to share!

Stefanina’s pizza is great pizza. In addition try their italian wedding soup. It isone of the best tasted.
On a business note, I got to meet two of the owners. Really nice guys and offer a lot of support to the community.

Great pizza! Sorry provel haters, you will not like this pizza. I usually order a lunch special which includes a 9″ pizza with one topping, a side salad and a 32oz drink. They offer other lunch specials as well, but I always get pizza. I almost always order hamburger and light green olive on my pizza. Yum! If you get the regular amount of olives they kind of take over, so you have been warned. Sometimes I get pepperoni and mushroom which is very good as well.
I really like their toasted ravioli with the meat sauce. Good meat sauce is hard to come by. The wings are pretty solid too. They don’t use the standard Frank’s Red Hot Sauce so you get a nice flavor instead of just Frank’s. Cheese garlic bread never has options, except for here at Stefanina’s. You can get Canadian bacon, onion, pepperoni or tomatoes. I’ve not tried it because I really like the plain cheese, but I’m not scared. I’m sure each option is more delicious than the next, but alas I’m a creature of habit.
The salads are good too. The Stef’s House Salad is a marinated salad in the house dressing with lettuce, onion, pimentos, green olives, tomatoes and croutons. The dinner salad is good, nothing special, but always hits the spot.
I hardly ever order pasta here and it’s good, but I love the pizza! The pasta con broccoli is good and so is the cannelloni. I’ve not had any of the others. I wish there was dine in service here because I don’t always want to take it home or drive to one of the other locations in the area.
