I’m keeping my rating the same, but some of my cons have been improved upon over the last few months and some new issues. Maintenance has improved. 1 of the guys now works in the office. I’m not sure if they have replaced him, but issues are being taken care of in a timely manner. Water shutdowns are slowing down and don’t happen as often as they once did. They are also leaving notes on the door when packages arrive which was very helpful during the christmas season. Only one new issue to report. The management company has a policy to deposit checks as soon as they are received. My husband dropped off a post dated check to the office and told them it was post dated for the first(day rent is due). It was then deposited on the 23rd of December. We called to ask why our check was deposited early and just got told it was corporate policy to not keep checks. While this makes sense, my husband told them it was post dated so it could be deposited on time since we were going to be out of town the day rent was due. Obviously we should have put the check in a sealed envelope with«Do not deposit till 1.1.2015». Lesson learned. It is still an awful way to do business and we were never told they deposit early checks at any point of time. It is a good thing that we don’t live pay check to pay check. We discussed the issue with our bank and because of electronic depositing the date on the check no longer matters, just the routing number, account number and signature. We would pay online if there was a 15 dollar fee to do so(it is a newer feature).

AWFUL — DONOTWASTEYOURTIME I’m a 21 year old trying to make ends meet, but id rather live in a box on the street than here. We had a problem with cockroaches for over a month until they finally allowed us to move apartments. The hallways smell moldy and musky. Probably from all the water leaks and interruptions. I would literally carry my dog outside every time because I didnt want her walking on the nasty carpet. There was beer panties and cigarettes in the halls. Bugs in the lighting fixtures, the manager is the most un friendly human ever… Thank goodness for Tency in the office! she made talking about things manageable. Parking lots were never plowed or shoveled, I had to hand shovel a parking spot to park, and dig myself out in the morning and then someone would take my spot(obv) and I’d have to dig out another spot… A/C unit had a birds nest in it which I asked to come get out numerous times, because they literally sounded like the birds were IN the apartment– but they wouldnt — fine, DOA regulations… the railing on our sliding glass door wasnt even attached to the building on one side. loud music and pot smells… Literally just awful. Its a good price, but i wouldnt pay $ 400 a month to deal with all their shit.

Definitely good prices for Saint Charles. the biggest thing I have a problem with is the parking. absolutely no visitor parking between 10pm-6am, it’s $ 5 a night per visitor pass. our first night there, after signing the paperwork(and not really having too much explained) we somehow overlooked the parking agreement we signed, and somehow forgot to put up the parking permit in my car. we had my car(which is registered with a permit) and my parents’ SUV, which we were using to move, both towed. absolutely no credit received, and not even an apology for lack of clarification about the importance or visitor passes and/or parking in general. the first week, the main water pipe in my building broke and we were without water for 3 days. even now, months later the project to fix the water is still ongoing and one day every few weeks there are about 6 hours without water. I don’t think the water is safe to drink, as it tastes awful and is often dirty looking. this is also a dog friendly apartment for large dogs(which is nearly impossible to find!!!), but there are many neighbors whom are very unfriendly to dogs. I spent so much time looking for an apartment that would accept my 60 pound dog and not to mention the deposits and extra monthly rent I had to pay. my German Shepard mix had to be re-homed after the police showed up after multiple complaints of a barking dog and threatened us with what could be up to $ 5,000 in court costs.): he is genetically a guard dog, so he would bark occasionally but not an obscene amount. just a warning bark, not excessive never ending barking fits, nor did he bark at unreasonable hours in the night/morning. it saddens me that the neighbors reaction was to immediately and continually contact the police rather than trying to address us directly. other than this, the apartment itself is pretty great. love the renovations and new appliances. the leasing office(when you catch them on a good day) is extremely welcoming and fairly easy to deal with, though at times the«supervisor» can be somewhat crabby right off the bat, for no apparent reason. I can understand the things she deals with constantly may not be fun, but her career is her own choice. overall, I would recommend to friends in need of an affordable place so long as you don’t mind never having visitors.
