Great food and great service. Not dated but nostalgic bar that has balanced standing the rest of time and expanding and modernizing as needed. Wednesday night ribs special are not only delicious but a great value. Staff is friendly and polite. Looks like a biker bar on some nights but they cater to all demographics and do it well. Definitely a place to visit more than once.

Was out for a motorcycle ride and saw this place. The outdoor seating area felt like being on vacation. My boyfriend ordered a Bloody Mary and I drank half. Thank goodness he ordered himself a second. ;-) Yep, I sipped on that one too. Big thumbs up for the Bloody Mary. Outside seating great. Burger was ok. Not bad but just kinda average. I would go back and try other things on the menu for sure.

Place could be awesome but the service is awful. Will not visit again. I feel bad giving one star.

When we want a burger and a beer, this is where we go. It’s comfortable, food is good, and so is the service. The people there are very nice and they make a pretty good blue cheese burger. We really like the outdoor seating but, unfortunately, it gets filled with smokers. You just have to plan your seat around the wind direction. I’m an ex smoker so I get it. Anyway, we like it. It reminds me of some of the bars in Wisconsin, which is where I’m from. No pretentious jackholes here like most of the Fox Valley. Come as you are. :)

One Sunday, my girlfriend and I decided that we needed to find the best Bloody Mary in Saint Charles. We selected 6 bars along Rt. 64 and started working our way East from Randall Rd. We split a Bloody Mary at each bar. Ray’s DEFINITELY had the best Bloody Mary AND the bartender and regulars were super-friendly, even though it was clearly our first time there. I plan to head back for a Blackhawks or Bears game and look forward to sitting out in the beer garden next spring!

This place is really cool and has a blue collar feel for an area that seems to be over-crowded with white collar professionals. Typical pub fare across the menu. Staff is super friendly. Stop on in!

We just moved to the suburbs and were looking for something fun to do on a Friday night. We went to a couple different bars in St Charles but really wanted something more lively and interactive like karaōke so we asked some people what was around. They suggested this place and said it’s more of a dive but has a fun eclectic group of people. We went with pretty low expectations, but were pleasantly surprised! The parking lot was nice, big, and well-lit and the bar itself was clean, nice, and had lots of fun people. The bartenders were super sweet and we sang a few songs and had a several drinks & a couple shots for only like $ 30! We had so much fun this may become our regular Friday night fun spot! Definitely recommend for a fun, laid back, townie bar.

While visiting from San Diego, Ca last week, my husband and I stopped in here for a quick bite. We had such a great meal and had so much fun we ended up staying for hours. Looking forward to coming back in a few months.

It’s too bad these old posts are still on here. Rays Evergreen has new owners, a brand new menu and daily drink specials, along with daily food specials. Their Rib special on Wednesday is fantastic $ 6.99 for 1 lb of ribs with fries and cole slaw! They also have fish fry on Fridays, offering something for everyone. Their outdoor patio has 3 big screen TVs, showing the daily sports, there is a back area for bags and rolle bolle, along with 8 outdoor tables with umbrellas, great for big groups. Both inside and outside bars are kept clean, the staff is friendly. This place has been around for a long time, and it looks like they’re here to stay!

I like bars where u pretty much can run the place because they are empty. No problem getting service here. Awesome karaōke on Fridays. Last time I was there for karaōke the bartender had huge boobs and a real low cut shirt. That was the reason we came back a second time. She wasn’t there the second time and my friends and I were disappointed but we got over it when the barkeep poured real strong drinks.

I’ve been driving by this place many a times and for the longest of times saying I need to check out if they have burgers and if so give it a try. Well at long last I did and I came away pleased. The burger itself was of an OK size and the tastiness was above par. Being mindful of my blood pump I chose to forgo the fries and settle for the chips. A hard choice because a bar burger isn’t a true bar burger without fries covered in black pepper but such as it is the chips were chosen and with those too I was pleased. Not sure, but I think they were Krunchers. What ever they were they were above par as chips go. The price was the going rate, they did have a special going on an Italian beef for $ 4 and it was tempting to give it a try but I had burger in my heart. The one down size was the service but I came in just at a shift change and I’m thinking the bartender was unaware I wanted to order, but he also was gone for a good portion of chowing down time and though I didn’t need anything if I did it would have been a wait. But I end that friendliness by both leaving and coming bartenders and another lady was very welcoming. There were a few folks there when I arrived but they left with bartender so I was the only person patronizing but that was OK because I was intent on finishing up a book on the gospel(maybe those who left saw I was reading a ‘God’ book and that prompted the departure. Nothing like a follower of Jesus to clear out a place : —) The overall cleanliness was good for a bar. There was no odor of stale beer nor was the bar area cluttered with years of stuff, However, I didn’t have the exciting opportunity to visit the restroom so can’t write on them. Parking is a plenty. Oh yeah I did see the I guess famous ‘Home of Rollie Bollie sign what though it sounds by other post a thing of the past it added to the nostalgia of the long lost corner bar. The out the door on Ray’s Evergreen is if I was still living in my bar finding days Ray’s looks like it would have been a good find, but even though those days are long gone Ray’s is definitely a place I’ll return to

Yes, Steve! Home of the Rollie Bollie. It’s time to take the sign down. What makes this place cool is the outside bar with an area to play bags. It’s not in the greatest location considering all the other STC bars are in town but you can have some good times here. There food is alright and the drinks are fairly priced but doesn’t really have a following during the offseason. Unless it’s warm out the inside is just your typical bar, but don’t get me wrong this place can be fun. You just have to go during the right time of the year.

Too funny! This place has been in this location since 1928 and I’m writing the first review? Actually, it’s not that weird, I guess. This place looks from the outside like every other joint your dad used to hang out in. And the fact that it’s the touting itself as the«World’s Headquarters for Rolle Bolle» doesn’t exactly scream«happening joint!» But that’s all old news — new owners have spruced up the old place, and removed most of the musty old beer smell. They’ve removed the walk-in cooler, and yes, the indoor Rolle Bolle, and added more tables. And best of all, they’ve added an outdoor Tiki Bar in back with a couple Baggo games. The owners are nice, the menu is limited, but they’ve got beef filet sliders, along with mini-burgers, and several other interesting things. Beer selection is limited, but they have Guinness — and PBR in the can. The Tiki Bar is what I think will make this place — at least in summer — since you can smoke to your heart’s content while sipping a $ 5 ‘Rita. Here’s hoping I’m not the last person to review the«NEW» Ray’s. PS – For Rolle Bolle, you’ll need to head out to Little Jim’s Tavern in Virgil, IL. To find out what Rolle Bolle is, click here:
