Bonnie Lee’s Fried Chicken

My waitress was extremely rude and inefficient! She became sarcastic when asked if I could get my drink! I’d been there about five minutes and was very thirsty! She took 3 drink breaks for herself and when I pointed it out her response was «well, I’ve been running around» I gave the whole restaurant a piece of my mind! I’ll never go there again. STAY AWAY!

Stopped in on 10÷23÷15 to grab a 12 piece and a side of coleslaw to take to friends who were staying in Vero beach. Everything was packed and bagged nicely for the trip. The chicken and slaw traveled just fine in the rental car and my friends from Connecticut now understand why my family raves about this place.

The absolutely best fried chicken!!! Tina the waitress always remembers what I like. I’ve had the fried fish and that was also very tasty. The rice w/​gravy, potato, macaroni salad is also tasty (I wish the portions were bigger). They serve these corn fritters with sugar that are addictive. RUN to Bonnie Lee’s!

THE place for fried chicken!!! We go there at least every couple of weeks. Wish they were open everyday, because what is better than fried chicken on a Sunday afternoon? Prices are beyond reasonable. LOVE this place!!!

Have eaten here dozens of times and always loved it. I grew up in St Cloud, moved away years ago, but family still here. I go to Bonnie Lee’s every time I’m home. Superb fried chicken, corn fritters, low prices, sweet tea, and nice servers. A well kept secret.

Okay first question… have you been here yet? If the answer is NO you need to stop what you are doing and immediately make a trip to Bonnie Lee’s! After multiple trips I have never had a bite of dry chicken even the white meat is juicy! I love the fact that they don’t know how to count and add in an extra piece of chicken! The fritters are a good touch to add in also! My one complaint is the mac and cheese this frustrates me every time we go. How can a southern place not have homemade mac n cheese? Besides that the service is always top notch and that keeps us coming back for more also!!!

My wife and I frequently drive to Bonnie Lee’s from Orlando. The staff has always treated us great and the food is always good. My only complaint… give me more rice and gravy, that little bowl isn’t enough.

What can I say, I’ve been passing this place Omw to visit my dad and I finally broke down and tried the place and by the grace of the soul of food it was delicious. I was warmly greeted with home grown sarcasm and a pat I’m the back. I tried the fried chicken (it is a chicken place by god) fries, rice with chicken gravy and slaw. The sides were top notch with the fries being nothing special but fresh out of the fryer, the slaw and the rice and gravy being perfect fireplace like this and I highly recommend it. The fried chicken was some of the best I had in long memory and I’m greatful that places like this still exist. If you’re in the Saint Cloud area vist my pops in the home, then after that celebrate your good deed with fried chicken that will warm your innards.

Well, let me start off by saying it has been years since I have been here. I am the only one in my family that liked Bonnie Lee’s so the only time I get to go is when I am on my own for dinner. Last night I ordered (to go) the three piece chicken meal with coleslaw and a side of corn fritters. Everything came out hot and fresh, not the coleslaw of course as that was cold and fresh. The coleslaw was excellent with a nice creamy dressing but not over-​dressed at all. Really good. Sadly that was the best part of the meal. The corn fritters although ample were really nothing but fried dough. In the past they used to be nice sweet corn fritters with a decent amount of sweet corn in the fritter. These were unseasoned dough that were quite bland. The chicken was moist but had zero seasoning. Nothing on the chicken nor the crunchy coating was seasoned; just flour. Very dissapointing. They have the skills to cook good food as was evident in the tenderness and juiciness of the chicken and the texture of the fritters, they just need to not be afraid to season the food. Not everyone in St. Cloud is looking for bland food. Live a little and and some spice to life, or at least in this case your recipes Bonnie Lee’s.

Best fried chicken around and excellent pricing.

Outstanding chicken, simply seasoned, cooked very well. Bigger pieces than any fast food chicken place, and not greasy like KFC. One caveat, the sides need work. Gravy on rice is from chicken base, not good. Also had potato salad and Mac salad. Again, not great, too much celery salt or seed, which was the predominant flavor. Need to get some better recipes for these. However, we went for chicken, not sides, and loved it. Great value for the money, and simple, tasty chicken. We will be back often.

First off I’d like to thank the people at Bonnie Lee’s for always taking care of my «Honey», my great-aunt.She doesn’t currently have the biggest appetite but on our recent visit she wanted to be sure we hit up Bonnie Lee’s and the service was great.
All three of us ordered the 2-​piece chicken + one side option. When the food arrived, every plate had THREE pieces of piping-​hot chicken. We had enough to take home for a second meal. The food is not overly spiced or salty like at KFC or Bojangles, so if that’s your preference, it might seem a little bland.
The rice was a great decision as my side, delicious, I almost wish there had been a bigger portion but when you’re asking for a to-​go box for your leftovers that just seems nitpicky.

Based on Unilocal’s review and a friend lives in St Cloud recommended this place so I decided to drop by to see what the fuss is all about. They are located in one corner of the street and the way parking lot is oriented with Save-​A-​Lot I was not able to recognize where the drive through was so I ended up parking at SaveALot and walking in instead to check out the place in person.
It’s a tiny place, probably no more than 12 tables pack together tight, it felt crammed. The menu is simple, fried chicken, oysters and other simple seafood. There were bunch of «hard core» Americans there so the place made me felt out of place (like an Asian walked into a western bar in the movie kinda strange).
Anyway, put the weird feeling aside, I choose the fried chicken and it came with the yummy corn fritters. Well the fried chicken was okay, thought it supposed to be better but it was not. The corn fritter was tastier so I ate all that instead of the chicken (8pcs, hungry, ended up eating only 3). I thought Popeye’s or KFC or Maryland’s are better IMO. I would definitely go back just for the corn fritters, and drive-​through only! :)

ok I really wanted to give them a better rating but the chicken really didn’t have a taste. The breading taste like flour only no seasoning at all. I really like Dixies fried chick. alot better. But the corn fritters were good not the corn fritters I was expecting but they were good. They also didn’t take the entertainment coupon we had these are new owners and they would not take it and they told us that right off before we ordered. The prices were very cheap for what you did get but I really didn’t care for the chicken. Sorry :-(

YYYYEEEAAAHHH!!! It’s back and better than ever. The very best fried chicken there ever was. People come from all over Osceola and South Orange county for the perfection that is Bonnie Lee’s!!! Bring cash. They have a drive-​through if you wanna just pick up and take it a couple blocks to the beautiful Saint Cloud Lake Front. Or, of course eat in too! This has been a favorite Chicken place run by a well known family in the area forever. They closed for a little while to reevaluate and then reopened and are serving their famous fried chicken to their passionate followers.
