Awesome wine, simple and just classy. Always have a great time learning about their wines, labels and décor.

We were recommended to taste at this winery after we visited Nickel and Nickel. Ken was the best! We had so much fun, it was like a house party with wine education. The family run business was laid back and the wine was exceptional!

There is no better tasting! Siphon from the barrel, breadsticks, amazingly big wines and now they have a blush and Sauvignon Blanc!

I Have been in this wine business for over 25 years and these Knights Valley Gems are some of the Best. Deep Flavor, and concentration. These wines are designed to age no Doubt. I applaud their efforts of going against the norm in the eonology department and producing their Style of wine. Its nice to see a New approach. Cheers & Success to you at Delectus Winery. Dean“o”

Hidden Napa Gem! We were in town for a conference and the planners highly recommended this winery so we thought we would try it out. When we first arrived, we were nervous because it was in an industrial park. We circled the park a few times before we could find it. Once we went inside, it was a completely different experience. We got to see the full process, barrels, and machinery in the manufacturing area. The guide was wonderful – a formal school teacher from Texas. She was very informative and fun. We got to taste wine from the barrel and unfermented wine(which is very sweet). We then went into the tasting room and had an amazing tasting with 6+ glasses. They had a sparkling wine tasting group before us and needed to finish off the opened bottles so they allowed us to taste their unique sparkling red wine. While we were sampling, they had a nice spread of cheese and crackers out for us. All this for a very low price! We went to 6 other wineries but this was the most intimate and bang for your buck experience. Do not mistaken«bang for your buck» as low quality. it simply means you get to taste high quality, amazing wine with food and its not at touristy prices.

We found out about this winery by chance several years ago on a management off site. We had the wine at dinner and really enjoyed it that while there we detoured our off site to actually go to the winery. Set in a business park at that time, we were introduced to the other varietals that they offered(only reds). Got an opportunity to tour and barrel taste some up an coming wines that weren’t quite ready in the owner Gerhard’s eyes. They tasted really good and yet they weren’t ready! He’s the expert! They offer the cabs, merlots, etc. and other blends like the Cuvee Julia that are absolutely fantastic! Their wines are so good that most all of us joined their wine club during that visit. You won’t find their wines in too many restaurants as they sell a lot of it to their members and other establishments here and there. If you haven’t been there to try their wines, you should make an appointment to see them and be prepared to enjoy some really phenomenal wine! Their wines aren’t cheap… but you absolutely get your money’s worth!

One of the best Syrahs and Petite Syrahs I have ever had! A small winery that only produces a few thousand cases a year, but every varietal is phenomenal and complex! The family who owns and runs it are super nice people and all the employees are as well. One of my favorite wineries even when compared to Alpha Omega, Peju, Plumpjack, etc which are all expensive wines! Delectus ranges from about 30 to 150 depending on year, type, etc. Really hard to find their wines for sale though, so buy direct through them at

Now here’s a find, if you can find, it tucked away in the industrial park south of downtown Napa.(near the DMV, yikes!). Still, for anyone who loves rich, extracted, inky wines you better get this one on your radar. The owner is European, Austrian I think actually, and he knows how to blow your socks off with wine, a fact his maniacal laugh will clue you into as soon as he starts talking about the wine. You will try the wine in the same facility he uses to make it, not to mention store all the vintages. A production of only about, I think, 2000 cases(could easily be off by 1,000). Cabernet, Petit Sirah, and Cab Franc made by a truly master winemaker, something he seems to know too. Hey, it’s family-owned with a verve.

Delectus is a wonderful wine family, winery and experience. Don’t miss it/them! You’ll need to make an appointment, but it is well worth the taste, the experience and the wines you’ll bring home to enjoy, pair and share. Gerhard Reisacher and his wife Linda are a terrific couple and Julia, their daughter(their inspiration), is honored each year with her very own wine«Cuvee Julia». Add this treasure(Delectus WInery) to your list and in your cellar
