Great tasting room to relax and enjoy company. Our hostess Lauren was awesome. Stout Vineyard Merlot was ah-maxing. Other options were underwhelming. Super cute aerators for purchase — elephant and other game and fishing theme animals

Best wine tasting of the day! It was a beautiful atmosphere with great wine. We loved every sampling they gave us. It was an amazing day, great tastes and the perfect setting!

Little different style for this review since it’s a vineyard, not a restaurant. Service — We chose to do the $ 30 portfolio tasting, which included the very popular Three Palms. Our guide was very helpful and easy to chat with. After learning we prefer rich reds, she brought out an additional pinot noir to try, Goldeneye, which was not included as part of the original tasting. Ambiance — The ambiance at Duckhorn is warm and inviting. Great atmosphere for a wine tasting. Outdoor seating for sunny weather and indoor seating for colder or rainy weather. We sat on the lovely wrap around porch for our tasting. It overlooks a vineyard. Food — If you wish to purchase food pairings for your tasting, Duckhorn offers charcuterie boards. If you prefer to keep it plant-based like me, you’ll be able to pair with crisp breadsticks at no additional charge. Tours — They do not offer vineyard tours, but you can stroll the garden when weather permits.

I’ve been to roughly 10 wineries around the Napa area, Duckhorn is the clear choice for #1! Everything about this place is perfection. The southern charm of the wrap-around porch, the fabulous service from the great staff, and the wines, OH the wines! That is honestly where Duckhorn stands out to me. While there is a plethora of beautiful vineyards in the valley, I’m not always impressed with the wine itself. Usually a vineyard may have an amazing Chard, or a really delicious Cab, but Duckhorn has it all. They start every tasting with a delicious(and refreshing) glass of Sauv Blanc which is one of the best California varieties I’ve tasted. Then when you get to the full tasting, everything is YUMMMM — they have their famous Merlots, a variety of Cabs, Pinots(typically from their sister vineyard in Anderson Valley), and a truly fabulous blend they dub«The Discussion». They’ll also show you a list of everything they have on site so you can try some under the radar wines to suit your taste(as for the Cab Franc and Rose!) Can’t wait to come back here for my next tasting!

Wonderful winery!!! This was our second year in a row visiting Duckhorn. The tasting is very relaxing on their beautiful terrace. The wines are delicious! Noticeably better than other Napa wineries. Our host was very friendly and knowledgable. It was $ 30 per tasting and definitely worth it. We will definitely keep returning on future Napa trips!

The Duckhorn Vineyard wine tour gives you a wide assortment of delectable wines from there several vineyard brands they have within the company(Duckhorn, Decoy, Migration, Paraduxx, to list a few). The staff are all incredibly warm, welcoming and SO knowledgable about their wines(trust me, we were asking A LOT of questions). Their tour is a must do!

We made an appointment but they do have walk-ins depending on how busy it is. It wasn’t busy when we went to our 2:00 appt on a Thursday. I liked the Chardonnay and the first Merlot. Our female server was friendly and attentive. Cute little garden near tasting room.

Came here with a former student of mine, Kyle Harlan. His mother in law, got us reservations for this winery along with Paraduxx. Duckhorn was great. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. The staff was friendly, helpful and outgoing with us. We enjoyed our time on the outside patio. Great snacks provided with the wines. I would highly recommend this winery if you’re up in this area. Thank you for a enjoyable day, along with the wine and snacks.

Luis was fantastic. He walked us through the wines that they featured for the day and was very helpful answering questions we had. I would definitely recommend to come here for a tasting! 30 $ for the tasting and was perfect for two to split(as we’re visiting several vineyards today!)

After two back to back wine tours and tastings, I was glad to have a seated tasting at the beautiful Duckhorn Vineyards Estate House. By this tasting, we were pretty much wined out and just wanted to chat. I think they sensed that and kept their descriptions of the wine to a minimum. It was a rainy day so we didn’t get to visit the estate’s gardens. We didn’t even know about the Duckhorn wine library in the temperature-controlled aboveground cellar. The $ 30 portfolio tasting featured five current release wines. I was thankful for a place to sit and chat, but a little underwhelmed by the wine selection.

Overall: 3.5 stars I love wine. I drink wine every night. Napa every week. Love merlot. Been to Duckorn many times. Want to like it more! But it was only ok. Yes it is a seated tasting. Yes they pour their better wine(most bottles over $ 90. Their Cabernet called Discussion is $ 135, price point is on par with many of my favorite wineries. It could be the wine maker that changed the flavor profile. Three palms vineyard merlot is supposed to be their flagship. It was only ok. Service was nice, but felt corporate and robotic. «Merlot from our flagship vineyard three palms, notes of … Enjoy!» I’d much rather talk to people that are involved in the day to day work at the vineyard. Duckorn is one of the bigger production but still better than the big tasting rooms. Make a reservation as they get crowded.

I don’t know why I haven’t post my review over a year after my visit. Anyway, this was one of the most pleasant visit to a winery of our trip, they are one of the few with a selection of small things to eat like cheese, etc which really help once you have stopped at 2 – 3 places before… The attention was super professional, the wine is spectacular(which I already knew it) and the facility is high class. My favorite wines; The Discussion 2010 and Three Palms Merlot 2011.

My husband Matt B. and I spent a weekend wine tasting in Napa Valley and decided to hit Duckhorn based on vague name familiarity. A partner at the law firm Matt used to work for was once married to someone who was an owner or founder or something of Duckhorn. Basically the story of almost every Napa Valley vineyard – it’s hard to operate a winery without at least one insanely rich person in the shadows. Duckhorn takes reservations, but by the time we got around to trying for one, they were completely booked. Fortunately, they did have some seating set aside for walk-ins until 2PM, and we tried getting in on this at around 1PM on the long weekend Sunday. The place was popping. We walked in at roughly the same time as a couple other parties, and were followed by an even bigger rush. The hostess told us there was no room for us, but as we didn’t have anything better to do, we put our name down and loitered in the reception/gift shop area. We ended up waiting less than five minutes – I felt bad for the party ahead of us, who’d left immediately. We got a table on the wide porch overlooking the grounds, which were expansive and beautiful, shimmering and shuddering that afternoon in the rain. The winery was just lovely, and I imagine it would be fun to explore on a sunnier day. With the rain, though, it was quiet and pleasant, even kind of romantic. The wine helped with that, too. We did the $ 30 portfolio tasting. We’d been considering splitting, but what with the crowd and the hotly contested tables, this didn’t seem to be a viable option. No regrets, though. The wines were great, and the tasting was really fun. I didn’t catch our wine educator’s name, but he was knowledgeable and super friendly. He also had a heavy hand. The tasting gave us a nice sampling of Duckhorn’s current release wines, served with breadsticks(there was a picnic option, too, which also included meat and cheese or something like that). It started with the 2013 Toyon Vineyard Chardonnay, then moved on to two merlots and two cabs. The 2012 Carneros and 2012 Three Palms Vineyard Merlots were great, though both my husband and I preferred the more affordable Carneros. The 2012 Rutherford and 2011 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignons were also pretty tasty. The clear winner, though, was the bonus pour and finale – the 2011 The Discussion, a wonderful silky red blend. It ran $ 135 a bottle, which was a little too rich to take home, but marvelous for a taste. We had a splendid time at Duckhorn Vineyards. The wines were solid and the service and grounds spectacular. I’d recommend it for a scenic tasting in St. Helena. Make a reservation if you can.

Our friends have been RAVING about Duckhorn for some time. We have had their Merlot based on their recommendation and we finally ended up here(and several other places) yesterday. Was not sure what to expect, but dang, gorgeous home on some beautiful property. It was a rainy day and still amazing to be at. Great wines, great little nibbles, and gorgeous views. Since our friends are members, we got a special tasty treat at the end of a wine reserve they have. Damn… just damn… Go here immediately(with a resie of course), taste delicious wines, and enjoy it.

This is a delightful country home setting. You’re seated in what feels like someone’s home or a nice comfortable private restaurant. They serve a few snacks. We had our person come to our table to pour our wines. They also had delicious breadsticks that I devoured. The views are of wilderness and peaceful. Wines are delicious. They have a great gift shop in the front with an assortment of clothing and items.

Duckhorn is another of my top 3 winery’s in Napa that you have to make sure and visit. Make a reservation before you come and enjoy some of the best Cabernet wines in Napa. There’s a relaxed atmosphere where you can sit on an enclosed porch, relax and drink wine. These wines are very approachable and balanced. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy Duckhorn wines.

Probably one of my favorite vineyards to visit in Napa Valley. It’s a $ 60 per couple for a tasting but considering other vineyards in Napa, that’s fairly reasonable. Very reasonable for the amount of wine they give you and let you taste. Overall we ended up tasting 7 different wines and they were all really good. Our host Luis was excellent as well. For a bonus if you sign up to become a member, you get complimentary wine tastings for up to 4 here and their other sister locations.

Great little winery with a comfy sit down wine tasting. The wines are a little pricey(around $ 55-$ 100++ per bottle) and tasting($ 30 for a tasting of 5 – 7 wines). The wines are good, a little too dry for my personal taste. They give a description card with each wine which is very detailed and something I have not seen at other wineries.
