This was the second stop of our first day of wine tasting, and it was a very nice place. We parked in the lot right off the main drag and made our way to the entrance. However, we stopped by the front water fountain to snap a few pics as it was a cute little spot. We walked inside and there was only one other person sitting at the bar tasting the wine. We were told it was a $ 50 tasting menu for five wines, made up of a few different whites and reds. Believe there were a few cabs, a few Chardonnays, and a Pinot noir. Wines were pretty darn good, and the guy pouring them was nice and informative. We are not wine snobs, so a lot of what he said was beyond us, but we went on a recommendation from my wife’s colleague and we’re glad we did. This place is not one where you can go and grab a glass then wander around and sit somewhere else, seemed like you had to stay at the tasting bar and have the guy walk you through the whole tasting, which rushed us just a tad. We were able to buy a souvenir glass here, which was nice and not too expensive. They seemed like they had another sitting area back in the corner, maybe you could order food there I’m not sure. After we finished up, he told us to head back into their cask room, which was set up for a private party. It was pretty awesome, giant barrels of wine everywhere and a chic design to the tables and chairs. Lots of oak everywhere and some of the biggest wine casks I’ve ever seen, pretty cool. After we were done oohing and ahhing we took a quick look into the other side of what I’ll basically call the giant warehouse that is merryvale, and it had rows upon rows of metal wine casks where they were adding the finishing touches to the wine. Also pretty cool. This place is basically just a giant warehouse with no windows, when you walk in the metal barrels are gated off to the left, the tasting room we sat in was in the middle, and the giant cask room was off to the right. Cool place, but definitely not an outdoorsy experience to sample wine. Wines were good, not my favorites of our time in Napa but still pretty great.

This is a beautiful historic winery with good wines. Richard Butters is an extremely knowledgeable and friendly wine educator. I highly recommend visiting Merryvale for a tasting!

We planned our wedding reception here and from the very beginning of this process, the staff at Merryvale have been absolutely amazing. Planning a wedding isn’t easy anytime, especially when you live on the other side of the country, but we both knew we loved Napa, and when we found Merryvale we just knew it was the perfect place. One of our best decisions was picking this place! Dena is the head of events at Merryvale and she was there for us every step of the way. She always got back to us right away and was there to answer our numerous questions. She also gave us her preferred vendors list which was very helpful in choosing the vendors to help make our dream a reality. She almost acted as a Wedding Planner, in her attention to detail and her unending support in what was a challenging process. As any destination bride can understand, this sort of security and support is invaluable. When our guests arrived at the venue, they too were treated like royalty. All I kept hearing was how everyone loved the space, the décor, and the staff. And that moment when we pulled the curtains away to reveal the barrel room was one of the most special moments of the wedding. People’s jaw’s hit the floor and they all gasped in disbelief– it was just so beautifully perfect. Dena, Katerina and the staff at Merryvale went above and beyond for us. Our whole timeline was thrown off due to the negligence of our incompetent wedding planner– but they were there to adjust the evening’s events, extend our hours and completely saved the day. I don’t know what we would have done without them. We can’t be grateful enough to Merryvale, just top notch and above the grade in so many respects. We will be telling everyone about how wonderful Merryvale is. If you are planning to get married in Napa– this place is something special and out of the ordinary. You won’t be disappointed! :)

You can’t go wrong with any of the Profile vintages they’re all really tasty, I’m also a big fan of their Chardonnay smooth and not oaky. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the tasting room is somewhat cavernous, but the cask room is lovely.

Tasted here Sat Jan 23rd. Was not busy. Did a check in so got a two for one tasting which I like would have hated to pay $ 60 for my wife and I to taste a few wines but I think they will waive the fee if you buy some. Love all the seating inside and even seating at the very long and roomy bar. Funny, every time we come here the servers all are young 30 year old guys, I wonder why they hardly have any female servers? No big deal. We had good service the only disappointment was this time we really didn’t care for any of the wines except the final and most expensive one and at $ 95 it was way overpriced compared to other wines we tasted that day. In the past they had some better wines but not so this time. We paid the $ 30 fee and left. I am still a fan but wont be back for a while hopefully the wines will improve by our next visit. Its a nice place to visit but the wines no longer seem to be a very good value.

Not much ambiance in their tasting room but they do have some great tasting over priced wines. Not worth the tasting fee unless they waive it. For that price we were expecting more but this was just your basic pours and that was it. We bought a $ 95 bottle and they still were unwilling to waive the fee.

A local bar owner told me that this is the winery that you go to at the end of the day because it’s open so late(6 pm). And the wine is a reflection of that. It’s not bad but it’s not that great either. That being said, the winery is a super chill place that one can relax for an hour or so. And it happens to be across the way from a shopping area with some restaurants. The bartenders are all super nice though and let us try some other wines once we were done with our tasting although we regretted tasting the Sauvignon blanc. So not a place that I’d specially go to Napa for but if you have some time to kill, it’s not a bad option

Attended a wedding reception here attended by about 100 folks and this is a fantastic venue. Just look at some of the pictures of the hall with the wine barrels on one side of the wall. I almost felt like I was in the Game of Thrones set. The food was fantastic, the wine was great although I only had a few glasses after drinking most the day; so just say I was in the mood to be easy to impress. I didn’t come here during the day or anything else, but if you’re looking for a place to have a party, here’s somewhere you need to check out.

One of the best wineries in Napa… We had Kelley help us and she is super knowledgable about not only the wines but information about each of the regions. However that’s secondary(only barely because Kelly is that awesome) to the caliber of wine — I love deep, complex reds and that’s exactly what they have here.(Note: we tried a chard, typically the Bain of my existence, but that too was extremely bold and smooth. Thanks to Kelley for being awesome and to Merryvale for producing wines that are worth returning for. Tip: cab 2012 is worth visiting for. The side by side comparison speaks for itself.

These wines were decidedly meh, and the wine tasting was 30 bucks! Don’t bother, even with the 2-for-1 from the winery finder app.

Passport Stop #4 Highlights(3.5 stars) Downstairs private wine cellar banquet room was a treat to see especially the wax wall With passport you can do 3 wines + cheese platter or 5 wine tasting which is nice of them to offer Space is wide open and easy to maneuver Self serve water station was a nice touch Pours were good and staff was friendly Atmosphere has a nice warm, intimate vibe Overall Thoughts Return visit is not out of the question but there did lack a hook to bring me back sooner

Merryvale is where my friend had her wedding rehearsal dinner two years ago and I decided to make a trip back with my mum to show her the area. The barrel room is stunning for a special event and their wine tastings are enjoyable with the humorous and friendly staff. I’ll definitely make this a regular stop on Napa Valley tours.

My favorite stop this time in town. We were recommended by a friend. Merryvale is more like a tasting room as opposed to a vineyard. No scenery at all but the service and great wine makes up for it. We came on a slow Monday so we had the chance to have very interactive, highly engaged experience with our wine-pourer. Every single wine I tasted was very full-bodied and high-quality. Of course I had my favorites but there was not one wine i disliked. My gf got a customized tasting menu including off-menu wines, which was a good thing because we ended up with a bottle that is usually not on the menu. MUSTTRYTHEANTIGUADESSERTWINE!

Great wine, great service, beautiful tasting room! The Pinot noir and Chardonnay are great if you get a chance to go for the tasting. The man who served us the tasting was very knowledgable about the wines we tried and was so nice and personable. At the end of our tasting he even let us sample one of their most expensive bottles. What a treat! I felt like our server was genuinely enjoying having us try the wines and not trying to sell to us the whole time which was nice. The tasting room is a huge barn looking building with a bar inside, a little store, and a view into the cask room. The room is both grand and rustic/cozy at the same time. All in all a great experience and would return if I ever make it back to Napa!

It’s a classy place and tasting is on the high side, $ 30. It felt okay, maybe it was us I have no idea but the person behind the counter just did not seem interested in our group. Maybe because we were too sober when we showed up because the group by us that was a little out of hand got far more attention. They probably made a better sell. It’s cool. Still worth the visit. I should say I had been here before for a private tasting in their private room. I’m not sure how much it cost to set that up, I was a guest of someone but it was delightful. Since I’m feeling nostalgic, they are A-OK!

Amazing Pinot Noir If you have a chance, taste the pinot noir. It was amazing so I bought half a case. If you join the club, they might let you taste Profile. Profile is only available to club members, and it is amazing($ 175 /bottle). I think that it is a close match to Duckhorn’s Discussion($ 135 /bottle), but I’m not certain which I would claim to be better.

Great pours! Great atmosphere, great service, and very flavorful wines. Every one I tried was very smooth and wonderfully potent in its own way. Along with that, you cannot go wrong with music in the background such and The Cure, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and the full soundtrack from Donnie Darko! Worth a stop in!

My BF keeps raving about the dessert wine here, Antigua, and so we dropped by here after a nice day spent at another winery. This winery is smaller in comparison to other places, but its still lovely. Our server was nice and let us both do only one tasting for $ 15. So my bf and I split that and had about 4 tastings, with the Antigua last in addition to that. The wine and experience here is adequate, nothing to rave about. Then we had the antigua and I was mind blown at how good it tastes! A sweet wine with brandy. Mmm, we bought 2 bottles of that, looked around for a bit, then left. Theres a nice water fountain outside. To kill our buzz we walked across the street to a patio with a nice water fountain, sat there in the sun, and rested. It was pretty. Right across the street is Gott’s Roadside! Perfect location.
