The best turkey and bacon you will ever eat. I know that sounds outrageous but it’s true!!! Anytime a family member is within an hour of this place. They get lunch and fill a cooler full of bacon and turkey

If you’re ever in the area, definitely stop by. Even if you’re an hour or 2 away, it’s worth the trip. We stop by here each year on the way back from the Craft Fairs and get some sandwiches, and of course, a smoked ham. Words can’t describe it. You can smell it from a mile away, and, oh those smells are addictive.

Best. Bacon. Ever. Quick question though — has this place closed? My family has been trying to order for the passed couple of weeks(we’re in another state, and they send it out as a gift to family and friends) and all they get is a busy signal. I sure hope not. If they are Christmas is cancelled lol… Sob.

Bacon simply does not taste any better than this! I sampled some in a friend’s home about two years ago and HAD to know where he got it. I tried to order some over the phone, but they were sold out. So when I was passing through St. Joe headed home from vacation, I made it a point to stop in. «Hi. My name is Tim, and I am an addict.»

I received 5 lbs. of the bacon as a gift. First and foremost it’s the ever living BOMB. Just got home at 10 pm and found it in the fridge. Decided to give it a shot as a bed time snack. HOLYMOLY this stuff rocks and I mean rocks hard.

Ahhhhhhh. So. Freakin. Good. As someone who is mostly lacto-ovo-vegetarian(I eat fish and cheese) I must say, Courseys Bacon is the best thing on this freakin planet. My moms best friend told me about this place when I was moving from Springfield, Missouri to Houston, TX– although driving through OK is WAY quicker, it’s so completely worth the extra hour to drive through Arkansas just to stop at Courseys. Their bacon is incredible and so is their turkey. It’s just a lil bitty country place, with hams hanging out in open air in the shop. I HIGHLY recommend getting at least 3lbs of bacon and a 2lbs of turkey, and some snack bags of smoked swiss and cheddar that you can eat on the drive. It’s really not that expensive for the quality. I guess you can mail order it, but I only get it when I make the drive– limits myself to about twice a year. And when I was in there recently, I noticed they also sell ham-hock. HECKYEAH. Although I didn’t get any this trip, I def plan on getting some closer to winter.

This is THEBEST bacon you can get anywhere. I drive by this place every time I go home for a visit. They have smoked ham, turkey, sausage and cheeses. The bacon is by far the best, followed by the turkey. It’s a hole in the wall and you’ll miss it if you are not paying attention. If you don’t live anywhere close, they ship the bacon. I buy it in 5 lb batches and roll each piece of bacon up individually and freeze it. It’s worth the extra time later on when I only want 3 or 4 pieces to cook with. GETSOMEOFTHISBACON!

I found a little piece of heaven in St. Joe, Arkansas. Not the Christian heaven, not nirvana, none of the other loftier spiritual destinations. No, this piece of heaven was wrapped in a slice of bacon. Thick-cut, smoked bacon. Mmmmmm. Coursey’s is fantastic, for those of us who love our pork products. I have been trying, usually quite successfully, to scale back my meat consumption in the last few years. But with one step into Coursey’s I slid right back into carnivorous growling, like a former heroin addict sticking that needle into a quivering raised vein(or so I imagine). Bacon, of course. Coursey’s is the best. You will be amazed that bacon can taste THIS good. But bacon is only one of the offerings. And the others are equally fantastic. We also purchased smoked sliced deli-style ham(the best I’ve ever had) and smoked cheddar(too good to believe). As with its neighbor Serenity Farm Bread(not too far south on Highway 65) with its ridiculously good pastries, I am very glad I don’t live closer or I would be rolling myself to Coursey’s far too often. Coursey’s also sells whole bone-in hams, smoked turkey, and smoked Swiss cheese, as well as little cubed hunks of bacon(that made me envision making a good fish chowder). And, for those long-distance travelers with no ready means of refrigeration, Coursey’s also sells sandwiches for a reasonable price. And, my lovelies, consider this. You can mail order any of their products. Hmmm… I’m in trouble.

[Bear with a non-meat-eater for a sec… I’m actually *endorsing* Coursey’s Meats, despite my better judgment!] Some argue bacon is the vegetarian’s gateway meat. If that’s true then Coursey’s bacon is the lying-unconscious-in-a-gutter, sell-your-body-for-a-tweak meat. Mom’s best friend lives in Arkansas. One summer awhile back our families got together in Colorado, and the woman had actually toted several pounds of Coursey’s bacon with her from Little Rock to Beaver Creek in a cooler. «It’s THAT good,» she insisted. It’s true what they say: you really can get hooked on your first hit. In one brief moment, friend turned both mom and husband into Coursey’s *fiends* and had me doing something I hadn’t done in nearly 20 years: sampling one perfect, crackling strip of melt-on-your-tongue bacon. Ay. Yi. Yi. I defy *any* veg-head to resist this crack cocaine of meat. Fortunately for meat-lovers who don’t live anywhere near St. Joe, Coursey’s delivers nationwide. They make their hand-cured, hand-smoked bacon in very small batches right on their premises, however, so you have to time your order perfectly. And they only ship five pounds or more — cry me a river, right? This means that whenever mom or husband orders Coursey’s, at least two pounds of bacon end up in our fridge. I resist these days, but it ain’t easy watching husband swoon and prance with his crisp, delicious, tempting bacon, «ooh“ing and«ahh“ing all over the place while the smell of it fills the house. Recently we won honorable mention at a friend’s bacon party(our crew is just cool like that) with Coursey’s Bacon Rice Krispie Treats — major props to husband for handling the jambon end of things. Apparently there really *isn’t* anything bacon can’t make better. And using Coursey’s is just the proverbial icing on the cake. Mmm, baaaacon caaaake…

Wow, didn’t know you could stop for a smoked ham/turkey sandwich. This made a really cool stop for lunch on our trip to Branson. Good stuff.

Disclaimer: I have never been to this place. This review is for their bacon only, without a doubt the best bacon I have ever put in my mouth. Friends of ours from Little Rock send it to us for Christmas every year now(since we told them they never need to try to think of anything else), and I have recently discovered that I could order it over the phone. As of this writing, the minimum order is five pounds, and the price is $ 45.00, including shipping. It is worth every penny. Incidentally, bacon is the only one of their products that can be ordered by phone; people must have been clamoring for it!
