In the past we have driven out of her way to eat at this restaurant on our way from Chicago. Lunch at this restaurant was always a treat, with a nice assortment of choices on the menu. Two more disappointment we have change the menu to a basic sandwich joint. We were so disappointed we left, When our server asked why we were leaving she told us that there have been many complaints about giving up the old menu and losing the old chef

We so enjoyed our meal! The presentation was beautiful and it was amazing to eat! I starred with the beat salad, my partner had the carrot salad… delicious! Then I had pasta marohn and my friend had ottos chicken and both were amazing as well, not to mention the presentation again! Dessert was great we had a Carmel ay lair and even though we were so full it was a great ending with coffee! We will be back! Who ever the new chef is here it’s great now!!!

I have been here several times before and have not been overly impressed. I came back because I had heard they got a new chef and I was eager to try the new menu. Wow I am glad we did! My wife and I both agreed that the French onion soup and Caesar salad were probably the best we have ever had. I also had the filet and my wife had salmon, both were exceptional. The desert was just also fantastic!!! Chef Cheyenne and James both have amazing talent, and that was truly shown through the flavor and presentation of the food. My wife and I can’t wait to go back!

Everything was perfect. The blue cheese appetizer was amazing; it didn’t taste like blue cheese. My husband had the sea bass– melt in your mouth, and I had the salmon. Both were wonderful. Cocktails were great too!

Five stars. If there was six, I would hit that one too. But, 6 + 5 = 11. They were that good. Note sure. About the negative remarks. I am glad I choose to ignore them. I would have missed a perfect meal which started off with a Basil Haden. Then move on to the Clam Chowder which was probably one of the best I ever had. Very meaty and full of flavor. My entrée was Sea Bass. Out standing. There Chef knows what he is doing. There was what appeared to be a small red patato, but it turn out to be surprise: A pan sauté totmato. Out standing. Then Kayla brings out the desert, Rhubarb Crisp, YUMYUM. The meal was perfectly balanced. Full but not stuff. Soooo, the next best thing, this bistro is part of the hotel. No more driving home tonight. :-) Next time I am in Michigan, I will plan a stop here again. You should too if you have the time. You wont’ be sorry.

During the sumer, the patio offers the best view of the lake. Try the grilled cheese and tomato soup for that little kid in the grown-up you. Quick service. Very nice lunch

I have been to the Bisto at least a dozen times but this time blew me and my whole table away. Something seems to have changed because everything was exceptional: food, service, ambiance. I asked for scallops sans pasta and they created a totally unique and delicious dish. My fiancés steak was cooked perfectly. Wine list was suitable and service was great. Really, really impressed. Whatever you’ve done, keep it up! Please!

Was in town for a wedding and stayed in the hotel. This was my first and LAST experience in this restaurant. Our server was great which is why I am giving the review two stars instead of one. The food was sub par for the prices and the manager was extremely rude. She approached our table while I was still eating my appetizer and asked how much longer we would be. I informed her I had just ordered a beer. «So another 10 minutes or so??» she asked. I am not sure what Applebee’s the owners hired her from but they should probably send her back. I had planned on having dinner there after the not so great appetizer I had already had but left due to the rude manager. I have never eaten in a restaurant where I must make my dining intentions and time of departure clear to the staff during my meal.

The best in town. Food is outstanding. Staff is top notch. Wine selection one of the best in town. Views can’t be beat.

Where the locals go for lunch. I routinely bring my business clients to lunch here because the food is consistently good, the service is top-notch and the view shows off the best of St. Joe.

Do yourself a favor and go to The Buck or RyeBelle’s. I have been here numerous times for business meetings and the food is consistently mediocre at best and the prices are high for what you get. The last dinner I had was a large entrée salad with more slimy lettuce than fresh. The only good part was the carrot decoration placed on top to hide the gross blackened«greens.» When I mentioned it to the waitress, she just looked at me and took away the uneaten salad with not so much as an offer to bring another, and she still charged us full price! The small breakfast bar offers the only decent meal to be had with the possible exception of the soup and sandwich lunch. Avoid dinner at all costs. Room service is equally disappointing. When the order finally arrived, it was cold and the server stated she had forgotten to get my room number and had to wander around until she found it. Eating out on the veranda offers even more challenges as the location is very bug ridden, I spent most of my meal time picking fruit flies out of my wine until I finally gave up on it.

Combine the best view in Saint Joseph with the best food, spirits, and service and you have Bistro on the Boulevard! We’ve never been disappointed with any of our meals here(from fish, to the finest of meats, to vegetarian offerings). Thanks again to our wonderful server last night Kayla last night!

Good lake view if you have a deck or window table. Regular food. Good beer on tap. Service it is not good. Seems a lot of summer jobs with no experience or training. The price is out of reality compare to the quality if food.

Live nearby and was very disappointed. The pricing was totally out of line from what was delivered. Stopped by after a vacation in New York City and made NYC look like a bargain. Went for dinner, drinks and appetizers but changed plans after the appetizers came. 5 tiny slices of ahi tuna was the deciding factor at $ 16. Service was poor for our table(but very attentive to the heavy drinking table beside). Left feeling like it was a pretentious place that thought more of itself than it was. Will stay home and cook before going back.

Really good food, very quiet and elegant. Really great waiters and awesome drinks. They just changed their menu(oct 2013). So you should give this place a chance

Beware of this restaurant We started off with a major problem in getting in… we then got yelled at by the restaurant manger. I went to the attached hotel manager and she snarled at me. What a start. The 6 of us decided to stay and settled onto the porch with a beautiful view on a pristine Summer Sunday morning. The waitress was wonderful but the food was so average that McDonalds was looking good. Dry tasteless omelette’s, eggs that were not cooked to our request, tiny portions of breakfast potatoes but the crab cakes were actually good. Pretty view for coffee or drinks but we would never eat there again

My first experience here, in the fall of last year, was awesome. The food was great, the drinks were really good, and the service was good. I’ve been multiple times since then and have been disappointed with the standard of food they are sending out. The concepts are interesting but the execution is weak. I had the short rib empanadas the last time I was there and they were scalding on the outside but stone cold in the middle. The food tended towards being underseasoned or overseasoned but never quite right. The service was slow and the servers complained that they were understaffed. It’s great to be able to sit on the patio and see the views of the lake, but for the price, I’d rather go get a pizza at Silver Beach than eat here.

The Boulevard is a fine choice for dinner while in St. Joseph. The service both times I’ve been there has been quite excellent. The menu has a number of options with something to please most palettes. The food does tend to be heavy and rich with lots of butter and/or olive oil, so healthy options are not the specialty. That being said, the mushroom starter is tasty and there are some nice wines. The meal is paced for a relaxed meal, so if you want a quick and light bite it’s probably not your spot. It’s one of the only more upscale places in town and not a bad place to eat alone if you’re traveling.
