First the service was phenomenal. Our waitress Tara was one of a kind. We ordered a bucket af «trashed wings» and beer. After the cook could/would not make us a bucket of wings Tara went to the manager and got the order done. We never wanted for drinks or food. The wings were 5 star and we had a ball. We previously had pizza there. GREAT. Try Helen’s

We enjoy Helen’s a lot. Hardly ever eat here unless it’s a couple of appetizers. Those are always good – standard bar food. Wings, potato skins, etc. but their menu is huge so you have plenty of options. Weekends are always busy with great bands and a huge dance floor. Sometimes they have a cover, so be prepared, but other than that it’s a great place to people watch and enjoy some drinks. Lots of TV’s for sports games and young, fun bartenders.

I love the food and music at Helen’s. It’s always good for a great time with friends. I don’t often order a sit-down meal after 8 on a Friday or Saturday night, and I won’t again. Unfortunately our service was horrible. I ordered an appetizer and side salad while the rest of my party had meals and beers. When my side salad didn’t arrive I should have known what sort of service was in store. We only saw our server 3 times during the hour and a half we were there and had to send another server to track her down so we could get our bill. I will go back to Helen’s to listen to music and dance with my friends, but that’s about it.

Excellent service, great food, and an even better atmosphere. Highly recommend for a night out or even just for lunch or dinner!

My girlfriend and I went in and had a 20 min wait. Pretty good for a Saturday night. And that’s the best part of night. While we waited I stopped in the bar for a little hydration. The bar was pretty calm but they were staffed like it was supposed to be busier. Bartender literally stopped pouring my drink half way thru to talk to two other patrons. When there are 3 bartenders I don’t expect to wait much less watch you prioritize two people over the beer your pouring. She then went back to my drink… and stopped again to say something else. I hope the tall blonde hears about this at some point. When we were sat the waiter asked for my date’s drink(water), dropped it off and didn’t see him again for about 10 minutes. We wanted appetizers so this is disappointing. He sounded surprised by the request as well. Another 10 minutes and he comes back for the dinner order(ny strip and sirloin). The strip had no flavor as well as undercooked, sirloin was passable, T-ravs taken out of the fryer too early, and wings were red in the middle. Needless to say I will not bring them any business in the future and deter others from making the same poor choice we did.

My family generally likes Helen Fitzgeralds. We have always enjoyed good service and good food. Among our favorites are the onion rings, Sybergs Chicken Strip Salad, the Reuben, and the fried chicken special on Sundays. Their homemade dressing choices, fresh, warm bread and great appetizers are also really nice. I’m starting to notice the restaurant needs some updating on décor. The bathrooms are outdated, the carpet, tables and chairs are starting to show some wear and it needs a fresh paint job on the interior. Plus the parking can be horrendous. That is something that really needs to be addressed. All in all though, you can get a decent meal for a reasonable price.

Not the best bar around but a good default place. Great band and was actually pretty busy last night. So actually I guess it’s a pretty good bar of you go on the right day

This is my second time here. I will say I enjoy the food but the bad manager service has been HORRIBLE both times. The first time it was a lady. We were with a company party who had a reservation and they screwed it up. They didn’t have enough wait staff and they made it a not so pleasant experience. We had 75 plus people in our party, it wasn’t like they weren’t making money on us. It was a Tuesday night… They party was planned… NOEXCUSE. This time we were with a small Christmas party. I saw the male bar manager snap at a customer for taking a bar chair to his table filled with 18 people. He said what are my bar people going to sit at? Those 18 people I am sure spent more on their tab then someone sitting at your bar. I will continue to tell people of the horrible management here… And I won’t be coming back.

We stayed at the days Inn next door and wanted something to drink and eat so we took a stroll over. It seems like it calls itself an irish pub but i just don’t see it. It has a corn beef sandwich but that is about as close as it gets to it. My syburger(medium rare) was done perfectly. I liked the sauce a little spicy but not to hot. The homechips were a bit greasy but that’s the way I personally like em. It was a slow Tuesday night so the wait staff were just hanging out. None of this bothered me, they were the perfect medium of attentive without bothering you while you ate and drink. The bar itself is huge with An area for a dj and space. Darts, photobooth and games in the back. They have a separate dining area so if you just want food you don’t have to be bothered by the bar and music.

Poorest bar service I have seen. I’ve been here 30 minutes and seen the server once. My drink has been empty for 14 minutes and counting. I won’t be back.

Went here for the Women’s final of the World Cup. Service was okay but the waitress, for some reason, seemed to take issue with us. We weren’t being picky with our orders or asking for crazy amounts of attention but she didn’t seem to be big fans of us. Maybe she was having a bad day? I ordered a salad and got the wrong dressing and when she brought our next bucket of drinks, she didn’t give us any coasters — and wasn’t around to ask. So we had a big puddle of water on our table until my girlfriend got up and stole some coasters from the bar. Not the worst experience I’ve had but definitely not the best. I’d rank it as «average» in terms of any chain-ish sports bar.

Was there to celebrate my 60th birthday back in a banquet room from 2 to 6, on Saturday the 1st of August. No utensil in mayo, no coffee cups, spoons, creamer for coffee, ran out of salad dressing for salad, and sandwiches had no meat on them… All for 17.00 per person! Was told one thing at meeting for the final menu, was told another thing the day of rental, my advice is to record every conversation! The two stars is for the bartenders and their service.

Plenty of bar space and good beers on tap for the most part. I’ve only come here after work for a happy hour but every time I have the food has been so-so. Not good, not bad but just forgettable. The service has always been very good though. I’ve never had a bad bartender or server. If you are planning on having a drink or two you are good but I would have dinner elsewhere.

I got kicked out on my birthday for drinking«too much.» The people puking and stumbling around me got to stay, but I got kicked out. They were over priced, it was hard for me to even get a buzz on, then once I do they kicked me out. This place is horrible and I will never go back!

Helen’s is okay. The food is typical pub grub from the Syberg’s family. The portion sizes are big, which is why I always seem to have a box of leftovers to take home. S’kay — two meals for the price of one! The fried grouper sandwich is my favorite, and the burgers and fried mushrooms are pretty good — ‘shrooms are fresh, which was a nice surprise. The servers are friendly. Although sometimes I’ve found it a bit slow, especially at shift change or if they’re super busy. I try to avoid the bar side, which is just too loud and dark for my taste. It’s a decent spot to eat if you’re in South County — Irish or not — although it’s probably not something to bring you out of your way. Try the grouper if you stop in and like seafood, but bring your appetite or just ask for a box. It’s not a serving size for the feint of heart or stomach!

Took the family for lunch on Saturday and was underwhelmed. Service was atrocious and the food mediocre, outside of the wings, which I enjoyed though they could have fried another 30 seconds. There wasn’t a crowd or anything, so the waitress’s disappearance for long stretches at a time was a mystery. It’s a shame, because we always enjoyed this place.

Stopped in for lunch between appointments and since I was alone, I sat at the bar. Service was good, the salmon, potatoes and veggie was delicious. Walking thru to the bathroom after lunch I counted less than 3 women and about 40 men. That was surprising as I didn’t find it to be a «manly» place for lunch but they don’t serve cute little salads with feta and strawberries on a bed of dark greens. They have quite a variety on their menu.

Low food quality, lots of fried items. Bad bar food type stuff. I cannot recommend this for lunch. My salad was filled with cheap iceberg lettuce and cabbage. The friend chicken was not interesting. Maybe this is a fun spot for a drink? According to the calendar of events in the bathroom, there are lots of things going on here. One nice thing I will say is that on the dining room side, if you sit toward the back, it is a quiet place for a conversation or lunch meeting.

Apparently this place is an institution down in south county. I didn’t know. I do now and will pay them appropriate attention when picking the place for a business lunch in this part of town. Rolled in at 11:30 for lunch — no issues parking, no issues getting in, no issues with service. I read a number of reviews and those issues kept popping up. Looking around the place I saw the potential for all of the above on a night when they have a band playing. If you go there on a night when they have live music you probably need to adjust your expectations regarding all of the above. After all — do you really want to be there on a night when a band is rocking and have the place only half-full? Not me. Not the band either. I opted for the chicken tender wrap. They are known for their wings and even sell their sauce in local grocery stores. I can’t really tuck into a pile of wings during a business lunch so I generally go after some form of wing in sandwich or wrap form. This version did not disappoint. Tangy and lightly spicy, the sauce was delicious without the heavy vinegar presence that you get from a sauce with an excess of Red Hot in it. The tortilla was fresh and pliable but did not split while eating. For the most part, chicken strips are chicken strips — no difference here. I did ask for an adaptation of the menu description(bleu cheese instead of ranch) and our waitress asked me if I would like to substitute bleu cheese crumbles for the provel as well. I told her it wasn’t necessary but they either make a bleu cheese dressing that is very chunky or she had the kitchen throw a little extra on there for me — either way, it was delicious and really punched-up the sandwich.

This restaurant is part of the Syberg family chain. It somewhat themed after an Irish pub. Since they serve 3 Irish dishes I guess that qualifiesi. I came here with a large group of my wife’s family. There were 19 total and one server. I have to give him credit he did an outstanding job. He had no help whatsoever. He was able to keep the drinks filled and serve us without a single problem. I ordered their Sunday special which was fried chicken with one side. The cost was only $ 8.99 for four pieces of chicken and fries. A great deal for the food. The chicken was fried to a perfect golden brown and came fresh and hot. So the kitchen was on their game also. I really thought the chicken was top notch, moist, tender and perfect.
