taste good. Don’t go in lunch time, it’s cheaper but quality is low. Dinner time is the one you want!

We received a gift card or we typically would not go to a chain restaurant. We prefer the smaller, locally owned places. We got there before 5 on a Saturday and there was an hour wait already. The waiting area is cramped and you are standing like sardines. They do have a few new steak meals for $ 12.99 which include a salad and side. They are nothing special but the quality of meat is good and it was tasty. The baked potato had zero butter and was very dry. The worse part was that I ordered my steak medium and came medium very rare. There was not a warm pink center but instead the entire steak was pink and bleeding. My husband’s steak was perfectly cooked. He did get medium rare and it had a bit less pink than mine! Our daughter was happy with her meal. We would not go back.

We had some relatives in town from Indiana, and chose this dinner location for an October 8 get-together, because it is rather close to their hotel. And my little sister — who lives in Kirksville — drove down for dinner and a short visit. The eight of us squashed into a booth. It got more comfortable as time went by. I had a corner of the table(at least it was rounded) jabbing into my abdomen. We were not in a hurry. Most everybody was drinking water, except my cousin’s granddaughter, who drank Sprite. She was delivered a terrific game/puzzle book and crayons to engage her while we were jawing about everything under the sun. We were delivered two loaves of bread rather quickly, and they were consumed rather quickly. I kept away and refused a bread plate. Our server was terrific. We had to do a lot of passing of food and water glasses, because she couldn’t really get in to serve«properly.» But she did a great job paying attention to our water glasses and knowing who got what salads and what entrees. Three people got steaks. My cousin’s 8-year-old granddaughter got a cheeseburger and fries. My brother-in-law and I both got prime rib. My niece got shrimp tacos and my older sister got salmon — at a steakhouse. Go figure. There were a boatload of bleu cheese dressing lovers at this table. Is that genetic? Everybody who got a salad got bleu cheese dressing, except my older sister, who got ranch. I really like their salads, served in chilled bowls with lettuce, red onion, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and croutons(no croutons for me). I tell you, that chilled bowl really makes a difference in keeping the salad crisp and fresh. I got the 12-oz. prime rib medium-rare($ 19.49). It comes with au jus and horseradish sauce. As my side: parmesan-crusted creamed spinach — an upgrade(+$ 1.49). It was noted on the menu, but our server mentioned it when I ordered, just to make sure I knew. Good move. I appreciate that attention to alerting customers, so they’re not surprised when the bill comes. The prime rib was exceptional, yet a little rarer than medium-rare. But that was OK. The au jus was good, but not all that flavorful. The horseradish sauce was amazing. The parmesan-crusted creamed spinach was good. Creamy, solid parmesan taste, great spinach flavor, a generous portion. It just lacked a little something. I don’t know. Maybe salt. Maybe a little nutmeg. Something wasn’t all there. Out of eight people, only two got to-go vessels: my cousin’s granddaughter and. .. you guessed it. .. me. I had four bites of my prime rib. It was great! I just couldn’t eat anymore. The salad is filling. I asked for a to-go vessel with covered containers of BOTH the au jus and the horseradish sauce. Delivered promptly. With the parmesan-crusted creamed spinach(of which I had three bites), I got three more meals. So that’s four meals for a little under $ 30. And a great get-together with the Indiana relatives — and my little sister — who I don’t see that often.

I’m really not a fan of chains, I’d much rather spend my money(and I’m much more likely to satisfy my tastebuds) at a locally owned restaurant. But every once in awhile for some reason we go to Longhorn. Probably because my husband and I are Paleo and we know we can get our basic meat and veggies. This location has always been pretty decent. It’s clean, the servers have been friendly and the food comes out hot. No major complaints here.

The staff portrayed a large amount of incompetence and lack of interest towards customers. No one attended to us for about ten minutes before another waiter finally showed up. Went for lunch with a friend on Sunday around 2:00. Our server introduced himself(Sean, if I remember correctly), gave us menus and left. 2 minutes later I realized that he forgot to bring us water or ask what we’d like to drink. 3 minutes later my friend and I were looking for our server. 4 minutes later we decided to go though the menus the third time just to pass time. 5 minutes later thirst started to plague me. I was parched and wanted nothing but water. 7 minutes later I was bored and my mind began wandering, echoing with a wild kaleidoscope of omens and imaginations: He would never come. Shall we leave? They would gossip about us if we left. I would die of thirst and hunger. Would my friend bring my body back? No they would toss my body in the garbage. 9 minutes later another server stopped and said she wasn’t our server but she would be happy to take our table. After this point service was good. The new server lady was very friendly and attentive. The order arrived promptly. The meal was good. I am not really sure who our server really was. The guy who abandoned us shortly after we were seated, or the lady who showed up later. It was not a pleasant experience to be ignored like we didn’t exist. And it was really obnoxious and funny to see the servers trying to shirk, to absolve themselves from their jobs.

Some family got together here, the preferred restaurant treat of the 5 year old birthday girl a few days ago. We had a delightful time. Our server was, I believe, Mark. He treated our birthday girl extra special. The food was, as usual very good. A good time was had by all of us. I’m certain we will be back many times before the next birthday lunch!

Had dinner here last night. My steak came out over cooked and when I told the waitress the response was incredible. They obviously prepared another steak but they brought me something to eat while it was being prepared. Two different managers came by to apologize. The new steak was perfectly prepared and larger. They also gave me a card for a free appetizer and took the steak off the bill. Over the top customer service. And, the waitress was outstanding!!! We will go back.

A follow up on my previous review. Shortly after I posted it I received a response from a gentleman representing Longhorn Steakhouse. He was very apologetic and invited us back so they could make things right. He asked me to email him to make it happen. So the last thing I expected when I did so was to be treated like nothing ever happened. I was asked to write back with the date of our visit, who waited on us, and what we ate. I responded by cutting and pasting his original apology to refresh his memory. I did not expect him to respond asking me again to answer all of his questions, Talk about adding insult to injury. Never again will I visit a Longhorn Steakhouse. Why would I when I can go to The Texas Roadhouse Grill(any location) And receive great food and service every time. SHAMEONYOULONGHORNSTEAKHOUSE. Really lousy way to treat someone. Really lousy.

Big sack of NOPE. This place is expensive and crappy. Every vegetable I ate tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, and frozen again. Chewy, nasty, lacking flavor from the salad veggies to the overcooked asparagus that somehow costs almost $ 4 more as a side. I wish I’d taken pictures. What a joke. The steak was no better. Flavorless mushrooms(to the tune of $ 3.49 for a tiny little dish.) The sirloin was very tough for being medium rare. Fatty cut on a 6 ounce steak. Totally disappointing. This place is a pile of sadness. Nothing was good, and they obviously don’t take pride in their food here. Sometimes I think chain restaurants might be OK, then I’m reminded by places like these that eating local is way more satisfying. If you’re set on a chain steakhouse, go to Texas Roadhouse. It’s cheaper and the food is better. There’s a reason we were one of the only tables in this place during the dinner rush. Family, if you’re reading this: please never get me another gift card to this place. Yuck.

Great Service!!! Without a doubt the best Steak out of all the Steakhouses in St. Louis!!! The NewYork Strip doesn’t need anything added, just eat and enjoy!

I went here because a friend wanted to go. It is her place that she likes to go to treat herself. I typically don’t go to steakhouses. I got there and it was very warm inside. We sat in the bar area in a booth which was very roomy and comfortable. Service was very spotty as the bartender was our server. She took a long time to take our orders and food was slow to come out. We got a preview on their sampler platter and was told it was around 8.99. We were charged 10.99 but they ended up taking a few bucks off at the end when questioned. It was fried shrimp, rolled chicken thingies, cheese filled mushrooms. It was fairly tasty. I got the porkchops with mac n cheese. I didnt realize there was an upcharge to get the MC. Porkchops were meh. They were bland and had little to no flavor. Fortunately I had eaten the side salad and a piece of bread that helped fill me up. My friend got Flo’s filet and loved it. It is what she always gets. I was less then impressed with food and service. I would not come back here with all the other good dining choices in the area.

Went to this longhorn steakhouse tonight for the second time since moving to St. Louis. This is the second time now that I have gotten less than average service AND food. The first time I tried to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but this is just unacceptable and something needs to change. First off, our server seemed friendly enough but couldn’t really say for sure since we never really saw her. We never got any bread and had to flag her down halfway through our meal and ask her again if we could have some at which point she seemed a little annoyed. Our appetizer of spinach artichoke dip was luke warm at best and the chips were not even fried all the way so they were not even crispy; they were flimsy and chewy. When we finally got our meals, mine was tasteless which is pretty disappointing since I always rave about how much I love longhorns steaks. Also, when the waitress brought the food and asked if there was anything else she could get I had to ask for a refill on my tea because I had been waiting for her to bring one on her own for a half hour(didn’t get another refill our whole meal). Since the waitress seemed to never be around when we needed her we decided to skip out on desert and go elsewhere. Just a tip for management; I just moved here from Toledo, OH where I went to longhorn on a regular basis for work lunches ECT. One thing that I loved about it there was not only the friendly staff and consistent good food, but the waiter or waitress would always ask us to cut into our steak and make sure it was prepared correctly before they would walk away. It made me as a customer feel as if the staff actually cared.

We visit Longhorn just for an Outlaw Ribeye or the Porterhouse for 2. The Outlaw is fire grilled, has flavorful seasoning, and just enough marbling for a perfect taste. The Porterhouse is quite lean and a much thicker cut. Love the texture and tenderness of both. We upgrade one side to the Grilled Veggie salad which tastes so good and the other to Asparagus of $ 1.59 extra. You can’t go wrong with either dish.

Went to check out their dinner for 2 for$ 25. We also had a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert. No $ restriction that could be used in conjuction with the deal. The dinner for 2 included an appetizer to share. We chose the Tonion. Crispy onion petals served in a white glass boat with a spicy mayo dipping sauce. A basket of warm bread and butter arrived with the beverages. Both entrees came with either a Ceasar Salad or Mixed Greens Salad. For $ 1.59 you can upgrade to a Signature Salad. I did just that and got my beloved Strawberry Pecan Salad! It was loaded with Red Grapes, Strawberries. Feta Cheese, Mandrin Oranges, and Candied Pecans. Twice the size of the dinner salad. A meal in itself! Choice of 2 entrees. My husband had the 70z. Salmon served with rice and an additional side. He chose steamed broccoli. I chose the Cowboy Pork Chop. It also came with a side. I chose mashed potatoes. Both entrees were delicious. We tried their New Turtle Fudge Sundae for dessert. 3 scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, nuts, and whipped cream. Good Choice! Our server was great! He kept the beverage glasses full and even brought us a second round of the bread basket. All this and I must not forget to mention they have the Purrfect silverware, seriously, it makes my day! Longhorn– chain or no chain– you are this Cat’s Meow…

For some reason I have always loved this LongHorn Steakhouse location. I have never had a bad steak here. The place is always super packed on a Friday night. Service was superb! We had an awesome waitress with a very cool personality which always makes for a memorable evening. The classic items were still on the menu but they had a dinner for 2 option which we took advantage of. I ended up with steak wrapped in bacon. There is really nothing else to say expect that it was steak wrapped in bacon! Oh don’t forget the yummy bread they bring to your table. That bread is just about as good as the ridiculous crack cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster. Bottom Line: Good streaks, great service, good prices and good times.

As chain steakhouses go, this one can really be hit or miss. They are inconsistent at best. Some of the servers are great, some are just in a rush to get you out of their hair. On my most recent visit I had an excellent view into the kitchen. From my vantage point I witnessed many atrocities. From food dying in the pass begging for someone, anyone to take it to a table. I could see that every time someone had some of their«Fresh» vegetables, Chef Mike(Microwave) went to work and heated them. The prime rib is what keeps me coming back. It is at the best of times, a pretty effin awesome piece of prime rib, and at the worst of times, still nothing to really walk away angry about. The service received by some of the wait staff, and the inconsistency are my two biggest gripes about this place. Those servers to avoid, they know who they are. I very seldom tip less than 15%. I make special exception for them. The good ones are rewarded accordingly. :)

Usually this is a pretty good and consistent steakhouse. My rib eye was cooked perfectly medium rare. However, the outside was a little too charred. Not bad but I’ve been to better Longhorns.
