The pizza was okay. The dough and crust were nice and thin but it simply tasted bland. The pizza needed some spices. A dash of oregano, garlic, or salt and pepper would have made a huge difference and I was left disappointed after reading the reviews here.

Terrific pizza in my opinion. I enjoy especially the chicken BLT pie as long as you’re ok with cooked tomaters. I do have one MAJOR complaint. I wish I could talk to the owner or whomever makes the big decisions in that joint. I get a hankering for the ‘za about once a week, and every time I call Joanie’s first. Every Time, I ask for a pizza that is two different sauces split down the middle. They flat out refuse to accommodate EVERYTIME. It would be a simple exercise to plop them sauces down on the dough. I don’t understand their major malfunction. If I don’t mind my sauces touching, where’s the issue? Regardless, I take my business elsewhere purely on principal. Big bummer, man. Summation: great pizza, annoying unreasonable rules. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don’t. Where are we going for lunch? I’ll call Joanie’s, but end up not there.

I love this pizza. I’m a super picky eater and can make complicated orders. The staff are courteous and always help me create something I will love. The delivery is always fast and the pizza hot! The fact that the delivery guys are always friendly is an added bonus.

I’ve been to the resturant(not the togo) and sat inside-my food was always good. One day, I decided to pick up a pizza and take it home after work. Worst decision ever! The pizza was disgusting!!! It was cold, there was a sprinkle of cheese on the pizza(I’m not even a huge cheese person), the toppings were sparse, and the food was cold. Needless to say, it got thrown away and I ate cereal instead.

ordered delivery, baked spaghetti & meatballs w/cheese. delivered on time but the lid was smashed on the container, more sauce in the bag than on the dinner & all the cheese was stuck to the lid of the container. Very disappointing. Service & food was always excellent, but the last few times I’ve noticed a decline in service & quality of food. Hoping it gets better!

Maybe I’m missing something? I ordered a thin crust deluxe which lacked any flavor. The sauce was sweet, but devoid of garlic. The toppings were sparingly placed on the pizza. I was highly disappointed by Joanies!

I’m fed up with this BS approach to delivery food 1) in general I tip on deliveries north of 30% 2) I accidentally shorted the delivery guy $.08 it was supposed to be a $.943) as I called it in at 21 after the hour and again to check on where my food was at «it had left already» another 10 minutes go by mind you this after the lunch rush @1:21 was the first call. By that time I’m unforgiving of ineptitude so I gave the driver $ 22 even, based on the $ 21.06 total I was given on the phone. I immediately notice all 3 boxes are leaking hot sauce on the inside of the bag and all over themselves. Then open up the bag and guess what the cheese fries don’t have cheese on them they’re just fries. And of course the wings were baked and not fried as they were supposed to be. So they were soggy and I had to cook them myself so they weren’t totally gross. I’ll add pics where I can

Always on point! And quick! And much more tasty than Epic Pizza I know these people are busy. We ordered a pizza at dinnertime during Oktoberfest– it had to be one of their busiest days of the year. Our pizza got here within 45 mins which was impressive. We always get pizza with sausage. I don’t know what they do to it, but it’s so savory and melts in your mouth! I highly recommend Joanie’s To Go(and the original Joanies) for pizza!

Had a pretty disappointing experience here. I tried to use a coupon for $ 2 off a large pizza. Handed the cashier a $ 20 bill with the coupon. She rang up the transaction without the coupon, which was clearly visible on top of the twenty I handed her. I inquired, naturally, and she proceeded to accuse me of only giving her a $ 5! Yikes. The«manager» resolved it and gave me the right change. Bizarre and frustrating. Plus the pizza here is so very marginal. EPIC down a few blocks is lightyears better for the price.

Joanies is definitely my favorite local pizza. Its a little pricey but I’m never disappointed. The staff is pleasant and service is always immediate. I always get a house deluxe and sub hamburger for the sausage. I pity the fool that ain’t had Joanie’s.

Terrible pizza last night. The delivery guy couldn’t keep the box flat so the pizza all slid to one side of the box and it tasted like someone puked in the sauce.

We order from here at work several times a month. Joanie’s is always consistent, flavorful, hot, and on time. The delivery people are courteous and professional. They have lunch specials, check the website. Joanie’s accommodates every request we throw at them– such as hot sauce rather than red sauce on pizzas, no onions on salads, extra dressing, and so-on… I personally have not ever received an incorrect order with Joanie’s. This is a top notch pizza joint.

Consider me another member of the choir singing Joanie’s praises. My office Downtown occasionally orders several larges at a time and has always received consistent, timely service. Half of the battle when it comes to take out? Definitely! The pies themselves are unique and a little more flavorful than most. The mozzarella is piled on thickly and comes out of the oven on the lighter side with a nice bite(more ‘chew’ than ‘stringy’). The thin crust is a mix between Imo’s(in thickness) and a New York(or New Jersey… nodding at Ferraro’s) hand tossed(in texture). The toppings are pushed all the way to the edge and, while it’s thin, the crust is far from cracker crisp. What will turn you into a fan(or off completely) is the sweet sauce. Distinctly tomato. Unashamedly sweet. Bold without much spice. Finding a sauce this different from most is why you try new places from time-to-time.

Got this for delivery to Hyatt at the Arch. The person I called to place the order with was friendly and got my order right, a big plus! The delivery guy was nice so I gave him a decent tip. When I opened the pizza box 4 slices had slid into the side, smashing them. The cheese had slid off with the toppings in tow. I got up to my room and took a bite. The pizza was not hot, maybe lukewarm at best. The first bite was so bland. The sauce had very little flavor. I ordered it with green pepper, bacon, and white onion. The toppings were very good and fresh. The crust was decent, crunchy, flaky, with a somewhat sweet flavor. The cheese was somewhat rubbery and had a funky aftertaste. Overall, it was decent pizza, better than say Papa John’s or Domino’s, but far from perfect. Would I order it again? Yeah, It was good enough to warrant a second pie.

Great wings to go! Had both the buffalo and the BBQ. Buffalo sauce was good(and in hindsight I would have gotten more of those instead of BBQ). Joanie’s pizza is always delicios so try this place if you are ordering out.

I’m going to take my Joanie’s to go! Joanies Pizza, yet another mainstay of Soulard, offers a pick up and delivery service outside of its regular facilities, Joanie’s To Go. This is quite ideal for the patron who lives in the area and doesn’t want to deal with the bar crowd or just wants a square of that delicious za! I like going into the bar, but when I choose the wrong night, it can be a little crowded. However, I really like the pizza, so more times than not, I will choose the to go service over the bar. They really have a good thing going here. With a few pizza options in the area, Joanie’s is probably my favorite of the three. Don’t tell the others! I am a fan of the St. Louis style pizza, but Joanie’s does it in its own way. The ingredients are fresh, and I get a sense of homemade every time we have the pleasure of ordering from this location. One thing that I would like to see more of is specials. When I order from here, they very seldom offer me some sort of combo or deal. I always ask, too! However, I have a bad tendency to call on premium days, such as weekend nights. Nevertheless, they should consider more discounts here and there. Joanie, you might have the best pizza in Soulard, but can you take it easier on my pocketbook? Price aside, I am always satisfied with Joanie’s product. Also, the wings are good, too!

I ordered a pizza, an appetizer, and garlic bread earlier this year for delivery. The bread was stale and cold. The pizza crust was stale and cold. The appetizer looked like those appetizers you get in the frozen aisle at the grocery store, and it was cold. Sprinkled with some parmesan. It shouldn’t have been stale or cold considering I’m like a 2 minute drive from them.

Joanie’s to the rescue!!! That’s how I felt about this local pizzeria on Wednesday night. I had just had a really stupid experience with Papa John’s and was wondering, «How the heck am I going to get a pizza delivered to Foam?» It really shouldn’t have been so hard, but it was. Then one of my friends suggested I try Joanie’s. I know about Joanie’s To Go, but had no idea that in addition to picking up your pizza from them, they also deliver. Woot! I *should* have known this, since Joanie’s has a van. But I never thought to ask them about delivery. The gal who took my order was a little unsure of where they delivered(Foam is less than 2 miles away from Joanie’s but she had never heard of Foam). And even though she thought it might be slightly out of delivery range, she said she’d hook it up regardless. Less than 45 minutes later, there was my delivery guy. He had never heard of Foam, either, and looked relieved that he found the place(which it’s kind of hard NOT to see… it’s on the corner of Jefferson and Cherokee with a giant sign, but whatev). The pizza was hot and exactly how I ordered it. Honestly, I’m not going to try and order Papa John’s ever again! As long as Joanie’s is close by, it’s a safe bet!
