The best pizza in town and the owner has passion for his craft! My favorite is the Soulard and Funghi, perfect!

Lovely neighborhood gem. It feels comfortable and intimate and although I have not dined alone here I feel like it would be a good place to enjoy a glass of wine and pizza on the solo. The staff has always been friendly and informative. The Hubs and I thoroughly enjoyed their very fresh simple house salad: Salad Mixed — Mixed Greens, Red Onion, Grape Tomatoes, Parmesan, and Balsamic Vinaigrette @ $ 5.95. He had his with a local craft beer and I had a Pellegrino. The Hubs ordered the Funghi — White or Red Sauce(he got red), Fresh Mozzarella, Thyme, Crimini, Shiitake, Yellow Trumpet Mushrooms, Vegan Sausage(Optional), and Olive Oil @ $ 14.95. I had the Vegan’s Delight — House Cauliflower Carrot«Cheese», Garlic, Oregano, Mushrooms, Vegan Sausage, Vegan Parmesan, and Olive Oil @ $ 14.95. The pizza dough is amazing. I love the taste and texture the preparation of the dough and the wood firing lends to the pizza. Firm and chewy and a little puffy with a wonderful taste. The red sauce is dynamite and bursting with flavor. My fave, however, is The Vegan’s Delight. It is a little spicy and has a unique«creamy» taste that I just can’t get enough of. We will most def be back.

If it weren’t for the fact that I can’t get pepperoni on my pizza here, I’d give Pizzeoli a 5-star review. I totally understand the owner is Vegan, and I respect it… He’s an amazing individual, btw(you’ll pick up on that very quickly if you’re able to chat with him)… but this hinders the frequency in which I eat here. Definitely some of the best pizza you’ll find in all of STL(and there are a lot of options).

Best pizza in STL in my opinion. I’ve had Katie’s, PW’s, Dewey’s, Dominos, Epic pizza and Subs, etc.

Pizzeoli was awesome. We went there for my birthday. It was four of us total. The service was excellent from the time we walked in the door until the time we left. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and had excellent knowledge of the menu. The pizzas were very good… We all got different pizzas. They came out really fast. They also have a good wine selection and a small, but very good, craft beer selection. There was also no issue at all splitting checks. Finally, it just seemed like everyone at the restaurant was passionate about the place. All in all is was a great experience and we will be back. Thanks so much!

I have been in St. Louis for a year and a half and I am so sad I didn’t find Pizzeoli sooner! Growing up in the NYC metropolitan area with a father from Italy, this is the kind of pizza I’ve known and been missing! Pizzeoli is true, Neapolitan style pizza — just like the kind you can find in Italy! The pizza reminded me of pizzas I had when I studied abroad in Rome. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommended for the pizza lover!

AUTHENTICNEAPOLITANPIZZA!!! Can’t believe there is pizza like this in St. Louis. Having parents born and raised in Napoli and growing up in the New York area myself, I have a really high standard for pizza. This place will not disappoint. Authentic, fresh ingredients. And no need to go crazy. A simple margherita does the trick. Delicious! Worth our 40 minute drive without a doubt.

Once again, Unilocal did not lead me astray. We were nearby & in search of some dinner on a Saturday night. Super friendly waitstaff, legit Neapolitan pizzas & cold beer. This is, in my humble opinion, the best kind of pizza crust in the land.

Neapolitan pizza is my favorite, and Pizzeoli is legit. 00 flour, dome oven… they follow all the rules of a traditional Neapolitan. Along with The Good Pie, it’s the best you’ll find in St. Louis. Unfortunately, the building was under construction when I visited so the seating was very limited and the construction was loud. That didn’t hinder our enjoyment of the pizza though. We ordered a New York and a Margherita, and we both preferred the New York. The sauce on the Margherita was a little too runny for the very thin crust, but the consistency was just right on the New York, which also featured two of my favorite pizza ingredients: garlic and oregano. I look forward to returning once the construction is done and experiencing more of what Pizzeoli has to offer.

The pizzas all around us had that beautiful, slightly charred crust you look forward to digging into when you go to a wood-fired pizza place; however, ours looked like it could have used more time. No char on the crust, bottom looked barely cooked, and the slices were floppy.(I envied the guys next to us who were complaining amongst themselves that their crust looked *too* charred!) We got the affumicata, and the *ingredients* tasted so, so good – even the drizzle of olive oil which was actually more of a deluge. The execution, though, disappointed me, as I live nearby, so I really, really wanted to love this place. Oh, yeah – beware on the salads. $ 5.95 for a giant pile of greenery, a few sliced cherry tomatoes, and some shavings of(very good) parmesan, all doused in dressing. Skip it and order beer or wine instead.

Bomb ass place. I go there often. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, but wait, the pizza is fire. Serving size suggests you should sample a couple different pies. I showed up during the lunch lull, for which they typically temporarily close, and they said, «we’re here anyway and happy to have you.» After gratuitous«no, I’m not gonna be that guy“s, I gladly stayed and ate. Super satisfying. Order more than one.

Full disclosure: I’m from the Greater NYC area and cannot understand the appeal of St. Louis-style pizza. A cracker like crust covered with processed cheese does not compute in my mind. Thank goodness there is Pizzeoli: this isn’t NY-style. Rather, it’s TRUE NAPLES-style. Using their fancy wood-fire oven, pizzas cook up in about 90s seconds. WABAM! The Bianca is quite good, if white pizza is your thing. The crust has the perfect(small) amount of char, and the ingredients are top-notch. I do have to dock a star for the limited list of varieties and sizes(just 12″ pies). Also, if you’re diametrically opposed to eating«fake» meat, you might be a little upset by the vegan sausage offered in lieu of the real deal. Not very busy during weekday lunch, so definitely a good place to go if you want to get in and out quickly.

Review for carry out! I called in my order. I know, I said i would never get another pizza besides the Baba, but I wanted to try another! The Vegan Delight for me, and the Soulard again for BF. They quoted 15 minutes and wouldn’t you know it, I walked in 13 minutes later and it was just coming out of the oven. NAILEDIT! I didn’t realize the Delight did not have sauce on it. Entire my own fault. I DO know how to read a menu, it just didn’t click. So I was surprised when ta-da! there was no sauce on my pizza. While the Vegan Delight was ok, it was no Baba. I have 2 more pizzas to try but honestly, I can’t imagine anything better than the Baba. As always, the staff is just phenomenal. I’ll be back. :)

I was a bit apprehensive going here because I don’t usually like Neapolitan pizza much. As someone who loves keeping it simple– cheese pizza– there is never enough on this style! I decided to try it, especially after seeing it on some favorites lists. I got the New York, which has«Fresh Tomato Sauce, Hand Grated Fontina, Hand Grated Fontinella, Fresh Garlic, Oregano, Extra Virgin Olive Oil.» The waitress recommended it over the traditional margarita. I was SO happy! The fontina was much better than mozzarella, and was plentiful. The crust was delicious! Perfect consistency and flavorful. A really solid pizza. My only complaint? For a vegetarian joint, where is all the rabbit food? There is only one salad offered and it was very forgettable. I’d love to see some amazing salads with delicious ingredients added and this place would be 5 stars.

My coworker and I gave this a try a week ago and had a good experience. Staff was very friendly and service was courteous and fit our ever-shrinking time slot for lunch. I actually wasn’t aware this was vegetarian until we were already seated as I trend towsrds meatier pizza combinations. Regardless, I kept an open mind and solicited some suggestions from our server. I ended up going for the Bianca and my coworker had the new york — overall, very good pizza and excellent preparation via their classic wood burning oven! I respect the decision for a vegetarian neopolitan style pizza venture but I couldn’t help but think how great a prosciutto and pear pie would taste from these guys. I don’t anticipate that’ll become an option any time soon but I’ll be likely be back before too long either way!

God it’s just so damn good. Can that be my whole review? If I lived in Soulard I would never leave. Sat at the bar during a busy lunch time on a Thursday. Very attentive service without being overwhelming or obnoxious. Small, but people move in and out pretty quickly due to the service and cooking time. Fell madly in love with the Bianca. She’s dangerous kids but oh so worth it. The super hot oven makes for the perfect chewy crispy melty authentic Neapolitan style pizza. All pizzas are 12″ and if you give it the ‘ol college try you won’t have any problem finishing or almost finishing one yourself. It’s worth the food coma. Cannot wait to go back.

Pizzeoli is a simple Neopolitan pizza spot and seems to be focused closely on that idea. Honest food from an uncompromised, open kitchen, dished out quickly to a handful of new friends a few feet away. Since when is that not enough to make a great restaurant? Almost every review that I read before my visit included three items, and with good reason. 1) This place is small and without much of a waiting area. As much as I(and a growing body of other patrons) want the business to flourish, it’s simply not set-up for larger parties(…at least not yet). The owner, a congenial guy who wears the same t-shirt as his staffers, will do his best to accommodate anyone, but with only about 30 seats in the place, a group of 8 can be tough to seat. 2) The menu is vegetarian. 3) The pizzas offered are delicious and come at a premium. (Bonus) 4) If it’s open, and especially if it’s colder out, request the table near the oven. Not only is it warmer and a bit less trafficked than those seats by the front door, but watching the gentle glow of the fire behind the busy pizza makers is a pleasant experience that you might as well not miss.

In my mind, I wrote this review a long time ago. I’ve visited 3 – 4 times now, and I’ve never been disappointed. The only reason I still favor The Good Pie ever-so-slightly over Pizzeoli is that TGP has MEAT. The owner of Pizzeoli and the staff are really lovely. They recognize you, welcome you, and are super-appreciative to have your business. The pizzas and the crust itself are damn good. He’s clearly done his neopolitan pizza research. It’s airy, just salty enough, and perfectly cooked. I love that the menu isn’t absurdly large, and that it’s a 1 – 2 man operation. Simple is good, and it’s ensuring that people return for the quality pies.
