MAC Cosmetics

Disappointed. Yesterday I set out to learn about makeup with the intent of making a purchase. The store was lovely. Bright lights and lots of merchandise on display. I noticed that there were three ladies working. One was occupied and was doing a consultation with someone. The other two were free as they walked the store. I waited for about ten minutes for someone to assist me. But no one ever did. One of the Associates began helping a man who had come in after me. The other lady cleaned up a little, walked right past me and then went on break. Part me of thought that maybe they didn’t see me. But one of the associates walked around me to pick up somethings. Never even saying hello. I have to admit, that I kinda felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Prepared to shop — but couldn’t get any help.
As a Supervisor in the area of Customer Service, I have to say that my personal experience was awful. I left and ended up making a purchase from a completely different brand. Not sure if I’d visit this particular store again.

Great store! I think it’s one of the only free-​standing MAC stores left in the STL area. Clean, organized, and the girls who work here have been friendly and helpful to me on each visit. As soon as I walk in the store, they greet me and ask if I need help finding anything. Sometimes I just want to browse all of their colorful goodies and sometimes I just want a specific item and then run. I was only a little bummed that they were out of a lot of the Archie’s Girls stuff that I wanted… no lipstick, bah! But at least they had dupes or similar products to fill in (most) of the empty spots of the sold out products. Sometimes it can be a little frustrating if every single sales associate is busy putting makeup on someone but eventually they finish or you can ask them a quick question… I’ve never seen this store super slammed before but I have also only been going as of late. I might have to troll some of the MAC set-​ups in department stores to get the lippies I want.
Also the lovely shop girl here told me if you bring back SIX (6) empty MAC product containers (not the pencils your sharpen though) you can get one (1) FREE lipstick! Is that not awesome or what? Now I just have to feverishly use all my older MAC products, haha. Or at least empty out the pots.
Also I like that if you have a specific makeup related question you can ask them for help. MAC is where I learned how to (successfully!) apply fake lashes! Yay. Also if I come in here wearing enough make-​up to be considered a «drag queen» or w/​e, I don’t get weird stares… more like stares of appreciation for my neon green eyeliner and crazy OTT pink blush! ;)
