Phantom Gallery & Books

This is no longer located at 1300 Washington ave but I just brought my daughter into the Taba Co store for her first experience with bongs and other paraphernalia. Had to explain why she couldn’t buy the wallet with the pretty leaf on it.
On the upside, the gentlemen running the store was extremely nice and polite and helpful and also bummed there wasn’t a bookstore closer. So if you need a cute psychedelic tie-​died hippy dress or a new brand of smoke, please visit him.

Tonight was their opening night and my girlfriend and I had a great time. The Bettie Page exhibit was the bomb. Also, the DJ was the AWESOME. Quite often his music completely sank up with the Bettie Page porn playing the the background. Now that’s a skill. Honestly, the only thing that makes me want to knock it down — only ¼ of a notch (which is impossible), is the fact they advertised chocolate, and at a fancy art gallery opening (on Valentines Day) I was expecting more than something in a wrapper. However, free wine/​champagne totally made up for it.
Also, the book selection was intriguing and seemed very well (fantastically) priced. If budget wasn’t an issue, we would’ve walked out with three selections.
Interesting crowd. I wish. I WISH I could be the events coordinator for this place, because I’m so jealous! I feel like it can only get better from here.
