Sonic Drive In

It’s Sonic so I don’t expect much but this location needs help! The staff is far from understanding they’re in the service industry. I wouldn’t care about anything as long as my tea tastes good. My boyfriend and I have both been here a couple times and the tea always tastes horrible. I used to work at a restaurant with metal tea containers like they use. I know the sour taste is from them not cleaning the containers and the spouts right. Easier to go to QT right down the way and get some tea that you can actually swallow.

I’ve been to this sonic a few times I honestly don’t go here if you want to good food or fast service I’m sitting here right now have been sitting here for 20 minutes now and I only ordered one small shake I worked for sonic for 4 ½ years I was assistant manager and you would think that you would send all of your drink orders out first I don’t know what this sonic has running inside but it’s deathly not anybody who knows management skills… Save your time and your money and go to a different song because this one is a joke plus the carhops a rude and don’t deserve anything close to a tip.

If you want bad attitude people, slow service and wrong orders this is the sonics to go to.

I went to Sonic for a late night 4^th meal with a friend. It was one of those nights where we had a long day, we were wearing sweats, and didn’t even want to leave the car.
I would normally just go to Courtesy Diner but like I said, I wasn’t getting out and that was that. I got a cheeseburger that was pretty meh. I deff prefer McDonalds if we’re being honest about my guilty pleasures.
The other thing I got was a coconut cream pie milkshake. Ooo… mmmmm…ggggg. I love these shakes. I haven’t been to a sonic in years but I loved them when I was a kid and therefore still love them as an adult #nostalgia. Idk what it is about them but they probably put crack in them.
Basically, my only reason to go to sonic is for their shakes frozen drinks.

If you want to eat burgers that taste old, bread is hard, you can taste that they have not changed their oil in about 2 years, nasty, disgusting and if you want to have instant diarhea… Go here!
NEVER AGAIN!

I really wanted a milkshake, and I’m getting really sick of «chocolate» shakes where it’s just a vanilla shake with a tiny glob of chocolate powder that never got mixed in. So I head to Sonic, because Sonic is the greatest fast food restaurant on Earth, I don’t care what anybody says.
I order a large shake and it’s 5 bucks and I’m like kind of pissed off, but whatever. I get it… And it’s like… Huge. Like barely fits in my cup holder huge. Like at least 32 ounces huge. I struggled to drink the whole thing, and no amount of food has ever given me pause. This thing is like twice the size of a large McDonald’s shake.
Today I’m curled in the fetal position, wondering why God hates me. I decide to Google this and realize that my «good job, you made it through another week» treat was 1410 calories and 58 grams of fat and 107 grams of sugar. Just to put this in perspective, NY was trying to ban sodas more than 16 ounces. 20 ounces of Coke have 241 calories and 65 grams of sugar and 0 fat.
I am pretty sure I drank that milkshake against my will, but then again, maybe I need to practice my anti-​rape face some more.
In case I maybe die today, and you ever wish to know if it was nice to know you, I tell you now that it was.

If you are wanting to repeat yourself again and again, wait 20 minutes for food, get aggravated because of their «new» employees, receive cold food, and not get what you ordered… This sonic drive in is perfect for you!
I went here today (9−19−13) the hop box service board’s box did NOT work (seemed like there was a short in the wires) and we had to repeat part of our order MULTIPLE times before getting so frustrated that we just pulled up to the hop stop.
The girl taking the order blamed the lack of accuracy on a new girl that was hired on the drive thru, and yet she still took an inaccurate order.
While waiting for the food, the car directly behind us got food sooner than we did. After getting the order, we drove to a spot to eat, opened our food to find it cold, and incorrectly made. Personally, I think that a sandwich that advertises as having bacon should have more than a SINGLE slice of undercooked, flimsy, greasy bacon.
This is a resturaunt that if given the choice, I would never visit again!

Yeah, its fast food and I tried it. Burgers are ok, I have had better. Ithink you really just go here for the tots right? Afraid I had the cheese bites and those were not very good at all… oh well, I tried it?

Last night we needed a quick hot dog fix and it was past 8 p.m. so we jumped in the Jeep and made a dash for Sonic on Kingshighway.
Ordered 2 Chicago Dogs, a NY Dog, large tots and onion rings.
Got the order home in less than 10 minutes and I wolfed down the NY dog which wasn’t bad. Meanwhile, mama bites into her Chicago dog and the poppy seed bun was terribly wrong. It was as stale and dry as a mouse fart. Not even fit for dogs (I love my dogs).
I open mine and try to take a bite and same thing. The bun is not just stale, but it is been left standing out in the elements for days stale. The hot dog inside the bun was grotesquely aged and cold. It went into the bin.
Tots were okay.
Rings tasted like they were deep fried in doughnut batter. Too sweet to be normal. Couldn’t even discern the onion above the volume of sugary batter.
Today, stomach doesn’t fee great at all. In fact, it did NOT come out alright.
Epic fail. I did go on their corporate website and lambaste that franchise. Also just got a call from one of the franchise owners apologizing and he’s going to send me a coupon for a «double dog meal» for my trouble. Big whoop.
He said they’d be honored at a different franchise because I told him I would never visit that location again.
I don’t often eat Sonic, but when I do… I get food poisoning.

Sonic is fast food period. if your expecting something else then you need to go somewhere else because you aren’t going to get it here. I have been patronizing this location for some time now, and the experience varies from visit to visit.
Sometimes I have a delightful meal, other times it makes me wish I had my money back and I was eating somewhere else. One thing that sonic does have going for them is their shakes, freezes and other cold treats. Sonic also has the best ice in their sodas, that you can actually buy by the bag, and well they serve tater tots and anyone who serves tater tots is OK in my book.

This sonic on S Kingshighway has the friendliest people working there. We always get amazing service. Food is great, if you like food from Sonic. :-)
You can also buy their ice by the bag, they’ll bring it right to your car. It’s the best cooler ice, tiny pellet chips stay cold for hours!

Fast food fast, that doesn’t taste like fast food made quickly.
We were in the mood for hamburgers, but not in the mood to cook, so off to Sonic I drove. When I returned home, we were pleased our meal was still warm.
Our cheeseburgers were meaty and had the perfect amount of toppings.
One of us had tots, they were crispy and a good change from the typical french fries. However, I had the french fries and was totally pleased. In my book, Tater Tots are for breakfast. We shared an order of Onion Rings which were sit down restaurant quality.
In closing, I’ll tell you the Banana and Caramel shakes were just, «Yummy»!
Can’t imagine eating in my car, but as carry-​out — I’ll be back to Sonic.

Kat, you are so right! They show ads outside their area which is mean. I’m a central Texas girl who lived off Sonic drinks and tots every summer. So when I needed a little taste of home I jumped in the car and raced over. First, it didn’t taste the same. Everything was a little more greasy and mushy. Corn dogs should have a crunch to the outside, not just a mushy corn whateveritscalled. Second, you lied to me. I got a kids meal because the picture said they toy was stuffed marine mammal toys. Side note: yes, I’m s huge sucker for the drive thru kids toys. Especially if it involves a stuffed scuba diving tator tot. But no, I was given a book. I went in to ask where my marine mammal plush toy was, they wouldn’t be in for another week. Sadness. So while I will return for my taste of home cherry limeaid and lemon berry slush (which thank goodness taste like an Austin summer day) I will not believe you when you offer up an adorable kid’s meal toy.

Hmmm, I was so stoked to try Sonic because they’re constantly playing the commercials in my area, but there are no Sonics closeby. I finally tried one of the slushy drinks, since it’s their specialty, and it just tasted like a snow cone. LAME. Disappointing. But at least I got that out of the way…

Dear Sonic Drive In,
How dare you play your misleading commercials on repeat in my area and make me long for your seemingly delicious and fruity creations?! You got my hopes up and then shot them down with one sip of your cherry limeaide. You are not all that you portray yourself to be! Your drinks are neither delicious nor fruity! They taste like syrup, water and Sprite. Shame on you for tricking me with your clever marketing and advertising ploys! I don’t like liars and you will never see my face ever again!~

Sonic, Sonic. .. wherefore art thou Sonic. .. here’s the thing. .. they really do have yummy food (as drive thru, fast food, greasy burgers and lime — aide (yes, lime aide) goes.. . but they’re NOT in Illinois. But the commercials are. It’s sick, it’s sad, it’s wrong. .. but it’s Sonic. So I’m giving it 3 stars — 5 for the fun food, and knocked down 2 because unless i’m in St. Louis, or anywhere further South anytime soon, i’m not gettin’ any and that’s just SAD making!!!
