Got there at 5:00 Friday night of a Cardinal game. Place was dead with 8 customers. I think the girl behind the bar was new because she was the only one there when we walked in as the 3rd and 4th people. Shortly after the 5th and 6th people came in and sat at the bar and got their drinks then met their friends as the 7th and 8th people. The 2 other employees showed up on the shift changed. After about at least 8 minutes the new bartender finally came over and delivered our 2 Bud Selects after the original bartender took our order and never brought them because she was doing something at the computer and even got told by the new bartender to help the customers she said they were on the house. Now to the food. We got the spicy chicken dip as an app. It was decent except the chips served on a plate and the dip in a paper tray like you would get at BWW. We had the BLT and Burger for dinner. My wife ordered the mustard potato salad as her side. A hint of mustard for sure but seemed for mayo which was odd. My burger was cooked very well at medium rare but I order that temp all the time and never had a soggy bottom bun. Fries as a side were good. I was actually never going to write this review except that when we got our first round of beers from the new bartender she said we were not paying for them except they were on the bill. I wasn’t going to complain about $ 5 since they were $ 2.50 happy hour beers. Will never be back. The Steakhouse was way better.

This would have been a much better review, as the food is genuinely really good here. However, this is our 3rd visit to the Precinct, and one common denominator has been that each server we have experienced, have each come across as though they’d rather be anywhere else.(tonight ours even rolled her eyes when we sat down, as if she actually had to «work» at «work». Love Jim Edmonds, love the food, dont care for the service we’ve received EVERY time we have patronized this establishment

This place really use to be a good restaurant, and could be so much more, but clearly they are investing more time and talent into their new Winfield’s Gathering! Busiest I have seen this place and yet 1 server for 6 tables. Been here for an hour and only had drinks refilled once. Server informed that she was new, so clearly there is no training in place. Just witnessed a table of 6 people leave, because they couldn’t get waited on. Started off asking in the beginning if they were out of anything, and were told no, only to order the burrito that was new to the menu and didn’t have chili to make it. Maybe Edmonds should stick to baseball and Real Housewives, and out I the restaurant business!

This was the first time back here since all the articles about a new chef and menu. I sat at the bar and the bartender took my order. I wanted to try both the brisket and ribs, but they do not have any combo options on the menu. I order the brisket with beans and slaw for sides. The brisket was very good, tender and flavorful. The beans and slaw were ok. The only real complaint I have was the«plating» of my meal, and I don’t know if it had anything to do with sitting at the bar. It was in a plastic basket with paper. I had to use a knife to cut my meat because the set up would not allow the use of my fork. The sides were in cardboard trays. I don’t need anything fancy, but brisket should be served on a plate, not in a basket. Despite this, the meat was good, and I’ll be back to try the ribs.

I had a really tough time between two, and four stars for The Precinct, so I went ahead right down the middle, because the food definitely made up for any other shortcomings. We went for lunch. Parking around the area is all meter parking, somehow we managed to find the one spot that didn’t have a meter or yellow paint, score! The side door was locked, so we entered through the front. As soon as we walked in, the dining room smelled like raw sewage. Not sure what was causing this, because when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, out in the hallway, it smelled fine out there. Just the restaurant was bad. The smell wasn’t overpowering, but it kind of ruined the mood in the beginning to eat there. It took a while for our waitress to come to our table. Not sure why, as we were only the second table to be seated. There was a table of three next to us. Once she finally came over, we ordered drinks, and food at the same time. On the menu was the Spinach and Artichoke dip with chips requested instead of pita bread, and the Carolina BBQ burger. We were going to share each. Drinks included Coors Light and a water. As a note, the beer was exceptionally cold, extremely good. There was quite a bit of a wait for the appetizer, but to their credit I saw several large carryout orders head out of the kitchen. Once the Spinach and Artichoke dip came out, it came out with ‘potato chips’ — who in the world orders potato chips with S&A dip? 99% of the world gets tortilla chips with it, and while I appreciate pita bread, we asked for chips. Can’t say I ever expected potato chips. We sent it back, it came back shortly and was quite delicious. Waited a little while longer, I had great company so I wasn’t too worried about the wait. The burger finally came out, the fries were crispy, maybe even lightly battered, but as I started to check out the burger, I noticed tomato, and cheese, oh man… the deliciousness of the Carolina burger was missing. We had received a cheeseburger instead. I’d normally suck it up, but this was our first time at The Precinct, and I wanted to try some of their delicious BBQ while still playing it safe with a burger. Sigh, I sent it back. Waited a short bit of time longer, but it was well worth the wait. This burger was huge, and fantastic. As others have mentioned about the brisket, it’s probably some of the best I’ve had in St Louis. Burger was nicely(maybe a little overdone) cooked, cole slaw was an 8/10, and the bun was brioche, maybe a little sweetness almost like a King’s Hawaiian roll. BBQ sauce was solid on top, the white sauce tasted like a peppered BBQ Aioli, and the spicy wasn’t overly spicy, just the right amount of heat. In the end, we’re going to be back… the Happy Hour menu from 11A-6P(!!!) is awesome, I’ve posted a pic of it. The ambiance of the place is inviting if they could get the smell issues fixed. Hopefully that was just a temporary thing. I suggest the BBQ if you go here, and the Carolina BBQ burger is a solid choice. I hope in the future they get their service issues fixed. Our waitress felt completely disconnected from helping us. We noticed several others around us had the same problem. I doubt the food problems were the fault of the kitchen.

Really nice bar. Perfect for grabbing a few drinks with friends. Food was alright. I had the double patty melt, burger amd bun burnt. The fries were really good. My girlfriend said the southwest salad was really food. We will go back bc had a lot of other stuff on the menu that looked good and is 3 blocks from our apartment.

Get the sweet buffalo wings, fries and a beer and you have the perfect dinner. We also really enjoy the spinach artichoke dip and pretzels. We go to the precinct quite often and every now and then we get to see Jimmy(enough said). You won’t be disappointed.

This place is yum, yum, yummy! The wings are a great start and come out hot and juicy. The brisket was rumored to be delicious and totally delivered. The staff is friendly, and the place is clean and neat. I would definitely make this a regular haunt if I lived in the area. Check them out!

They were out of calamari and everything on the BBQ menu but pulled pork which was disappointing. The flatbread and chicken panini sandwich were good and the pretzels were awesome.

Fantastic! We’ll be back for sure. Great drinks, wings were excellent, good variety of local taps. Love seeing a place that supports law enforcement in a city where the love isn’t exactly felt most places right now. If you’re coming in from out of town, bring a patch, it’ll be proudly displayed!

Chicken wings are good. Big selection of beer on tap. Bbq pretty average. Clean bar area. Open space. All around a good bar.

We had our wedding after-party here after our wedding(ceremony and reception) in the event space above in Space 15 – a venue we also highly recommend. The bar was perfect to close the evening. The staff was friendly, the prices reasonable and the service great. It may feel a little«off the main road» to people unfamiliar with downtown St. Louis, but it is a warm, welcoming location that we enjoyed both for our after-party and stopping by during the day whenever we met with our event coordinator. In particular, the bouncers and bartenders were especially patient and professional with a couple of our guests who partied a little too hard at the reception before stumbling down to close the evening. The staff also handled cabs for all the stragglers who stayed on past the last shuttle at the end of the night, and they made sure everyone made it on their way home safely.

The precinct is definitely the place to go if you are looking for good food at a good price! They changed the menu a few months ago and it was a big improvement. The buffalo chicken dip is one of the better appetizers I have had at a bar. For the main course, I would suggest the pulled pork which comes with fries. I have eaten here several times and I have never been disappointed with anything that the kitchen brings out. They have a very friendly and knowledgable staff along with happy hour specials monday-friday! Recently they started offering a free shuttle to and from Saint Louis sporting events which is a great way to save on parking and the hassle of downtown traffic. Try it… You will not be disappointed!!!

The Precinct’s menu is very interesting. I love the flatbreads, brisket and turkey so far. I work nearby and cannot wait to go back to try something else. The service is also great; very fast which is important when taking an ‘off-site’ lunch.

The Precinct unveiled a new menu about a month ago and it did not disappoint. The brisket was fantastic — perfect bark and smokiness — so tender you could cut it with a plastic straw. It was sliced a bit thicker than usual, but that’s a small preference. It was served on a large sweet yeast-type roll and a tangy, sweet sauce on the side. Fries were well cooked. There are few better ways to spend $ 8. Give it(another) try.

Pros: fairly quick service, plenty of seating and really knowledgeable waiting staff. I went here with some friends with before a blues game and it was located within walking distance of the scottrade center. Not to mention, it had a free shuttle to the center that would drop you off and pick you up in time for the games. They have a variety of local and domestic beers on tap which I thought was fitting for a bar in downtown saint louis. The food was good? We made the mistake of ordering the wings trashed so they didn’t come drenched in sauce and were fried instead so that was probably tainted. However, we also split the southwest and asian salad along with a wild mushroom flatbread and the italian flatbread between the four of us. I was not impressed with the salad and I probably could have made it better at home. The flatbread was good but nothing to write about. I do think they have really interesting options such as a grilled cauliflower cheese sandwich or the chicken panini with spinach and fontina cheese. This place has alot of potential and a brand new menu so maybe they were still working out the kinks and flavors but I wouldn’t go back anytime soon.

They were out of Budweiser Black Crown. They were out of O’Douls. It was a painfully long wait for our food. Lots of TV screens and people were there to watch the televised games, but they shouted at the TV screens loudly, as if they were in a stadium. I hope they get their act together before Police Headquarters moves in next door.
