Zero Stars, Food and service sucked. Bathrooms were dirty. It’s hard to believe this place is in business. The one thing which is consistent is it’s as distasteful as Joe Buck is as an announcer. Want great BBQ, then come to KANSASCITY, HOMEOFTHEROYALS.

We went there before Cards game 9−26−15. Got table did not wait I have to say Wings were best I’ve ever had. Ribs were good, Smoked Turkey was good also. I would say these Wings were special really enjoyed them and the atmosphere.

In town on business, decided to try for lunch. Chicken wings smoked first then fried were excellent. However that is where the excellence ended. I ordered the pork BBQ for my meal. It was the saltiest meat I have ever tasted. I was not able to finish my portion. My colleague ordered both BBQ and beef brisket. He said the same thing about the BBQ and the brisket was not much better. Unfortunately, 8 hours later I am still tasting the salty BBQ. I had to skip dinner tonight because I’m still a bit off from the meat. My advice: stop in for wings and maybe a beer but that’s it.

My husband and I ate at Joe Buck’s following the Cards’ game on August 15. The ambiance was good and our server was excellent. The food was disappointing. My husband’s pulled pork sandwich was filled with big pieces of fat. He was able to eat less that half of the sandwich. the sweet potato fries were good. I had chicken tenders which were OK, but the side salad that accompanied them was lacking. The fresh tomatoes and onions were good, but the lettuce mix smelled and tasted musty or moldy. We will seriously have to rethink if we are willing to return.

The best thing I had was the Diet Pepsi. Decided to try the 3 meat platter and got the thoroughly dry pulled pork, the mostly dried out brisket and the desert dry turkey. We also ordered the flavorless sesame shrimp as an appetizer. Usually a restaurant can get something right(other than diet pepsi) but not Joe Buck’s…in addition to everything being dry it was all bordering on cold… sad statement for a place that was mostly empty. All the quality of fast food but at 5X the price… save yourself the grief.

We were pleasantly surprised. First off, our server was food allergy educated, so she provided some options for my son. It was good. Then my husband & I tried the bbq. The brisket was not as good as the ribs & pulled pork. Corn bread muffins & Mac & cheese was awesome! We’d come back again!

I have never had bad service here. Plus their sweet potato fries… their mac and cheese… O.M.G. You’ll be welcomed by the amazing smell of barbeque’d goodness before you even touch the door handle. Perfect pre game spot whether cheering on the Birds or Blues. #WhyILoveStL

I had a cheeseburger and it was horrible! The onion rings were good though. The cheeseburger patty looked like it was pulled from a box, the cheese on the cheeseburger looked like processed cheese. The lettuce was slightly wilted and just ughhhh. Not happy at all with the service as the waiter was simply not interested in helping us.

I suppose this place is fine for beer and sports. But Joe should be ashamed to put his name on the terrible BBQ I was served. The brisket was dried out beyond recognition and this was some of the first of the day(11 am) so it’s not like it should have been in the smoker all day. The sauce can’t save it. Total strikeout.

The wife and I finally tried J Bucks. We both got BBQ plates with different meats so that we could try several. Her plate was baby backs and a sausage with cheese and tomato in it. She got the mac and cheese for her side. The sausage was unique but very good. ribs had a great texture, but not sure how they tasted as they were smothered with way too much BBQ sauce. The sauce is already on the table so let people put their own on. The mac &cheese was good according to the wife, as she ate it all w/o offering to share. I got the brisket and the pulled pork. the brisket had a wonderful taste, but could have been little more tender. Not that much of an issue that I would not get it again. The pulled pork very good, very clean, just not enough on the plate in my opinion. I was going to get the baked beans as my side but when I ask that girl about them all she would say was there just plain baked beans. I opted for the coleslaw instead, and it was really good.

This is a great spot for pre and post-Cards game drinks. I’ve eaten here once, about a year ago, and the food was somewhere between a chain restaurant and a pretty decent local spot so again, for the purpose of pre/post-games more than acceptable. The bar is pretty lively as well and stocked full of choices. The staff has always been very pleasant and quick to take care of the patrons. Idk if I would go on a non-game day necessarily but that’s more b/c of the location for me personally. I like to park at the lot just North of the restaurant on Clark for $ 20. Easy access to 64-W after the game… which is nice if you want to skip post-game drinks which in essence makes this review kind of useless so don’t do that. Go drink. It’s the right thing to do as a St. Louisian. :)

We are brand new to downtown living in St. Louis and this place is only steps away from where we live so it was only a matter of time til we tried it out. Service was excellent. Our waitress was super-friendly and VERY knowledgeable on the menu offerings. She was enthusiastic, pleasant and attentive. All the great qualities you’d want with service. Food was alright. Good taste but certainly not the best I’ve ever had. Prices are alright. I found the portions to be much less than expected. The mashed sweet potatoes were alright but more of a purée of sorts. Good flavor but not the best texture. Corn muffin was a disappointment. It wasn’t hot and slightly chilly in the middle. It was also quite flaky which I didn’t like. What saved this dinner was the excellent service. Will we be back? Of course.

The wrap my wife got was WAY too spicy but my dish was ok. The place was not very busy and for some reason service was amazingly slow. Maybe it takes a long time to walk from end to end because it’s a very big floor but overall I found myself unsatisfied with the wait times for both food delivery and close-out of the check. I don’t think I’ll be returning unless some off chance brings me there, maybe a ball game or something i don’t know.

I always thought that when you went to a restaurant that when you are over the age of 10 your drinks should some in a glass and not a plastic cup. I thought for a minute that we were at a frat party. The waitress was very attentive. I think she filled my water glasses every other time I took a drink from it. I ordered the pork loin, sweet potatoes and broccoli. My food was very good, I loved the cranberry sauce on the pork loin. However, I think that they must have gotten a little heavy handed in the kitchen, the sweet potatoes had too much brown sugar. No Moscato on the menu, the waitress recommended a bubbly something, not so good… Note to self don’t expect good wine in a bbq place.

Ate here with family, we’re all from out of town and we picked this place without knowing any better. My dad got the brisket and it was the driest brisket hes ever had. For the side he got the potato salad and it was disgusting, I think it was made with mustard… maybe its a st louis thing? Im not sure. I had the ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were tough and dry. The pulled pork was like shoe leather and had about as much taste. The only thing that I had that was palatable was the smoked chicken wings. They were decent but not exceptional. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Stopped in for dinner with my mom before a Cards game. Was surprisingly tasty, and had even more surprisingly tasty bbq… who would’ve thought? Wasn’t very crowded and the service was great. I’m sure it can vary day to day, but our experience there was great. Will be back again when we go to Busch.

Disappointed. The food is good. The service is poor. Monday night during the All Star break, the Home Run derby is on tv, I figure Joe Buck’s might be a pretty decent place to eat and watch some baseball festivities. Wow, was I wrong! This place is dead! The bartender took my order, offered me another beverage only once during 2 hours, I had to flag him down for a 3rd drink. My food was delivered by a cook, so its likely it sat in the window for a few minutes before being delivered. I also observed other tables flag him down not only for placing orders but for another order of drinks or refills. Seriously, maybe 3 tables, 6 people total. This is why Joe Bucks is dead on a Monday night during the All Star break. The service is poor! This is a celebrity sports bar, I’m a baseball fan, at least pretend to want my money. Also, sometime around 9:15 the phone at the hospo stand rang for a good 3 – 4 minutes, no one, including the bartender and a server, bothered to answer it. I really wanted to like this place more than I did, but the service completely killed my experience.

I stopped here with coworkers on a warm, summer day before a Cardinal’s game. We were looking for something a bit more substantial to eat before the beer that we knew we’d overconsume, and Joe Buck’s was the place to go. We ordered a variety of greasy and non-greasy appetizers. Each was a larger portion than expected, and though some were definitely unhealthy, I didn’t feel as weighed down as I normally would after a big meal of appetizers. Our server was fantastic. I probably drank at least two more mixed drinks than planned, because she was so quick to ask if we wanted a refill! While I don’t know the area, I’d definitely come back here pre-Cardinals game if I were to return… though not sure my Cubs fan of a Husband would let me! I must confess: not a fan of Joe Buck the person, but a-ok on the restaurant, dude.
