Can’t get enough. Fresh and clean atmosphere to dine in. Waiters are very nice and the owners are friendly. You can definitely tell the ownership cares about taste and quality. Highly recommended for someone who would like to try sushi for the first time or the sushi enthusiast alike.

Waiting time so long. Food is so-so. Recommend other places in town like Kampei sushi or I love mr. Sushi.

Great staff, always welcoming and greets you with a smile when you walk in the door by a women who is the owner or manger I believe. Very fast to go orders. I love the shrimp tempera app and the sunset hills roll. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is I think they need to have more speciality rolls that aren’t so simple.

First of all, I am not a big fan of Sushi restaurants that offer frufru sauces and put more emphasis on decorating the plate than on the fish. Tokyo sushi is excellent and fresh. The St. Louis roll, a roll with spicy tuna, roe and pickled radish and avocado, is the best roll I have ever had. The tempura, sashimi and nigiri are also excellent but I always choose tuna; so I can’t comment on other types of fish. Tokyo Sushi is a real asset to Sunset Hills which is sorely lacking restaurants.

Tokyo sushi is the best sushi you can find in St Louis. They have a wide variety of rolls, but not so many that it takes you forever to read the menu. Go with a group and you will get a boatload of sushi! It is so delicious! Some rolls to try if you love raw, the crazy roll and of course spicy tuna. They also have an excellent calamari tempura roll. Try Tokyo sushi it will not disappoint!

I have frequented this place several times recently(both eating there and take out), and each time have been very satisfied. Their seaweed salad and miso soup are both excellent choices. I don’t always order tempura rolls, but I can’t get enough of their shrimp tempura roll. And if you’re in the mood for a more simple roll, the tuna roll is the way to go. If you choose to dine in, the atmosphere is intimate, but not crowded. And if you choose to do take out, the food is prepared quickly. This is always a solid choice for sushi.

Calling this the«best sushi in STL» is a bit of a stretch but they do put out a good product. I would recommend sticking to the more popular varieties to ensure freshness but that is a gut reaction, not based on a bad experience. Lunch special with an eel & avocado roll was what I ordered. They were kind enough to substitute a piece of white tuna for the shrimp. Other pieces were salmon, snapper and tuna. The sushi was prepared well but possibly not at the peak of freshness. Not far enough away from it to warrant a bad review or a send-back. Salad was fresh with a typical sesame dressing. Miso soup was on par with other places but nothing exceptional. Service was prompt and attentive. Decent place for a sushi lunch if that’s what you’re craving and you find yourself in South County.

This is just another review cataloging my recent sushi escapades. I am so Hype for Tokyo Sushi and cannot tell you how much I love this place. First off, +1 for having great sushi in not the best location. This is seriously my new go-to for this area. They have great service and a nice lay-out. The tables are set up with lots of privacy. The sushi is seriously fantastic. I loved everything I had and am a huge fan of their sea weed salad. They add crab and shrimp to the top which really sets it above and beyond any other seaweed salad. It turns it into something unforgettable! You should know I had my first warm sake here. 10⁄10 would do again. Also, I love me some takeout. Seriously though, I’m obsessed with sushi and carry out was a breeze. Can’t wait to get some carry out from here again!

Solid sushi joint. Came here last night with my younger sister to celebrate my raise and treat her to some grub after a hellish day at work. We opted for two large Kirins to start off. Followed that up with the yummy roll, las vegas roll, caterpillar roll, scallop nigiri, tamago, ebi, kani, and one of the special rolls(shrimp tempura roll topped with a mix of spicy crab and scallop). All of the sushi is solid here. My family routinely comes here due to its central location and fresh fish — we have yet to be disappointed. Having extremely pleasant and diligent waitstaff really makes this place special. I will note that this restaurant shares a parking lot with a laundromat and occasionally parking gets a bit tight.

Yea no thanks. A house green salad is $ 3.50 and is all lettuce… all of it, and I can tell straight away it’s out of a bag, a larger insult. The dressing is not homemade ginger dressing either it has to be out of a bottle. Not a tomato, cucumber or carrot shred to be found. This place is way too pricey for what you get. A Philly roll $ 6.95? No lunch specials on the weekend either and the ones during the week start at $ 10.95 which is outrageous. The rolls we got were torn in places and did not seem to be on the fresher side, a bit dry. They fell apart easily and in truth they almost seem packaged too strangely. I will not be returning.

The BEST sushi in St. Louis, hands down! The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the salad served with dinner or lunch has the best ginger dressing I’ve ever had, and I hate salad dressing to begin with. If you’re going to try any roll for the first time, you cannot go wrong with the fried philly rolls. Trust me on this.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. If you order green tea, they check your cup often to see if it needs to be refilled and they bring a pot over to fill it for you. They could improve their attentiveness to other drink orders, however, especially water refills. A group of my friends meet there weekly for the atmosphere and the sushi. It’s a very calming place that plays a variety of music. The sushi is delicious and the best we’ve had so far in the area. It’s our go-to for sushi! Our group really enjoys the Philly Roll, the Fried Philly Roll, and the Yellowtail Roll. The Spicy Tuna/Salmon Rolls are good too if you want a bit of spice. We also always get an order or two of edamame, which they steam then salt. Delicious! Sometimes I order the Green Tea ice cream, which might sound weird to some, but I’ve grown fond of the taste. Give it a try if you’re in the mood for an adventure!

I have been going to Tokyo Sushi for a few years and I can say I have never had a bad experience. They have ranged from excellent to incredibly awesome. My personal preference is clean fish, I avoid cream cheese, spicy mayo, fried shrimp and other ingredients that mask the flavor of the fish. The sashimi is perfect, the service is very nice and the rice(sushi) is always spot on. It amazes me how some restaurants will serve expired(cold and chewy) rice. On occasion, I will request a roll with less rice. The roll looks funny because it’s smaller but the balance between fish and rice make it rich in my opinion. I have eaten at all of the sushi restaurants in the St. Louis area and many are excellent, some okay. For the location and price, this is by far the best.
