Don’t tell me you want good food at an aiport! Not going to happen! I guess this place is better than a couple of others at Lambert, so for that it gets 2 stars. Great place to buy water for your flight.

I was so happy to find this place at the airport instead of the normal Chili’s Too or some tequila bar. I was a bit disappointed to find that the tables are not kept up well. My table had some sticky jam on it and I had gotten there at 11am so it makes me wonder if that had been there from the night before… scary! However, the place more than made up for it when I ordered my half tortilla soup, half chicken pesto sandwich. The soup was alright. It was a lot more tomatoey than I would have liked. I prefer the creamier tortilla soups. The sandwich, however, was amazingly delicious for being made at the airport. It had the right amount of pesto in it and the sourdough bread was toasted perfectly. Service was okay, not impressive, not terrible but it is A-OK. I would eat here again… that’s it if I ever actually come back to this airport.

While waiting for my flight, I sat down and ordered a drink. I love a full bar before a long flight. The service was on the slow side, but they were pleasant people. I was able to read in peace at the bar and order a really good personal pizza. The sandwiches looked good, but kind of plain. I think pizza is a sure fire winner at this location and it comes out crisp and piping hot. Prices seemed reasonable for a restaurant in an airport terminal.

It’s an airport restaurant. That’s about all you really need to know. The Wolfgang Puck name does nothing other than help with the marketing and allow them to charge more. The only reason I go there is because it is better than most other choices. They seem to do a brisk business so the to-go stuff isn’t sitting there going bad. They also have some decent menu alternatives but hardly worth the price.

I can’t help but think that Wolfgang Puck would weep if he saw the breakfast that I paid nearly ten dollars for at the restaurant that bears his name at Lambert International Airport in St. Louis. It was so bad I am loathe to describe it in too much detail, but nothing seemed all that fresh, the sausage had been reheated in a microwave and it was generally quite disgusting. If Mr. Puck wants to keep his good name he should take it off this chain sub par airport eateries.

On a quick layover on the way to Chicago we had to get something to eat. Maybe we were lazy, maybe we were right, but the St. Louis Airport doesn’t seem to have a lot to choose from. Woolfgang Puck or Chili’s it was… we went with Wooly. Service was miserable. They seemed like the stereotypical pissed off airport workers, probably making $ 8 an hour, long hours, bad manager, etc. «Order down here. What do you want? For here to go? Oh, you want a receipt?» However, the pizzas were rockin’. They were pre-made and then they threw them in a wood burning pizza oven to crisp them up. The pepperoni with mushrooms was epic mainly for the giant layer of orange grease on top. At first I thought it had some secret sauce on it when it came out of the oven but it was just a layer of greasy goodness. Hooray for my arteries. Not cheap, terrible service, good pepperoni pizza. It’s an airport, I guess I can’t ask for much more.

I had a layover in St. Louis on my way back from New York. I was ravenously hungry because I didn’t have a chance to eat before barely making my flight. I did have a chance to shower though.(You are welcome, fellow travelers.) Why was I running late? Because I was out boozing it up the night before. Right. I know you are shocked. I stopped in to Wolfgang Puck because the alternative was Chili’s Too. I like Chili’s okay(chains-bleh!) but I had eaten there last week. Plus I wanted to try something different and share it with you lovely people! Hooray! I like you. This place is pretty casual and quick. Grab a salad or sandwich from their food cases, walk through the line and pay for it, then go sit down at one of the tables. If you want service(or booze) grab a seat at the bar. The bar stools are quite comfortable. Linda was the bartendress working this evening, and she was great! Every time someone ordered a drink she would ask them if they wanted an extra shot or a larger glass for 3 or 1 buck more. No thanks, lady. I am in recovery mode. I will take a spicy Bloody Mary though. Let me tell ya, this lil’ mama makes a pretty darn good BM! Since they don’t have servers here, you wait for your pizza, salad or sandwich(not a big selection) in line until they call your name. The screaming of the names got a little annoying toward the end of my visit. Speaking of food, I ordered the Chinois Chicken Salad tossed with Asian vegetables, chicken and their«famous» honey mustard dressing. It was a-ight – did the job. The dressing was tasty and tangy with a hint of spice. The chicken pieces(a good amount too) were perfectly sized. I hate when I have to cut up the chicken in the salad. Mer! The veggies were surprisingly fresh. All in all my experience here was a good one. The food wasn’t bad, and I really liked the bar area. Seats were available, the ball of foot was playing on one of the TVs, cute boys were shuffling in and out, and they had Stella on tap. If you are ever stuck in the airport for a layover, I would recommend stopping by. Say hi to Linda for me. Oh and bring your ID. She cards everybody. Even Gramps.

Best salmon pizza, no best pizza Chris Kim has ever had; which is why he’s giving this place 5 stars… because of the salmon pizza which has a crem fresh and dill with cream cheese and capers and caramelized onions with smoked salmon and crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside crust that was brick oven baked. It cost Chris Kim 10 dollars for a personal which came with 6 slices. Well this proves it. You dont have to be at a fancy restaurant, or hole in the wall authentic to have good food. Chris Kim actually found this place in an airport in St. Louis waiting for a flight.

O Daddy Wolfgang, a healthy oasis in this middle American dessert, offering tasty, high quality fare to weary travels forced to pay $ 2.50 for overripe apples as their only nonfatty option at the airport. Bless you Wolfgang! The Butternut Squash soup in a to go cup was so lovely, so creamy and elegantly topped with sprigs of parsley and sage and accompanied by a slice of warm focaccia wrapped in shiney cellophane. I wish I could come here once a week. Good Show, man, good show
