B’s Stitches

My wife has shopped here for years and we make the drive from Annapolis because of the service and the selection. Often the owner is teaching people new techniques and such. The selection of artists for the canvases is impressive. B has always spent time helping us with our selections, making recommendations and never rushing us. Need a great selection of thread look no further. I’ve always felt welcomed in what for many would say is not my normal environment.

Most awkward place ever!
Sequence of events are as follows:
1. We walk in and see the spa, unsure of where the stitching store is.
2. Little dog walks up to a gate on our left.
3. Little dog starts barking and growling at my dog.
4. I pick up my dog, person at store picks up growling dog.
5. «Is this the stitching store?» we ask. Worker replies «yes.»
6. We are still standing behind the gate
7. Worker goes behind a counter holding dog close to her chest and glaring at us.
8. We are not invited in and we stand awkwardly around for a minute
9. We leave, nothing purchased, feeling really confused.

Solutions to the series of the events above could be good customer service, such as inviting us in, moving the gate for us, telling us a bit about the store and asking if we are looking for anything in particular. Also, St. Michael’s is very dog friendly and I’m a dog lover, but if your dog comes up and barks at customers and then growls at customers pets, you should not be bringing said dog with you.
