Gosh. I almost feel like a traitor giving this establishment a 2-star rating considering all the 5-stars. However, the truth must be pushed forth. These aren’t really bagels. They can’t be. They appear and taste like doughy rings of bread, not the boiled then baked goodness of what an actual bagel actually is. Perhaps for the Minnesota palate… I’ve lived here most of my life, so don’t bother with the non-Minnesotan retort. The service here is so-so. Last time I was in I felt like I was part of the normal grind of earning a wage instead of being treated like a valued customer. Perhaps they knew my fondness for Brueggers. Or perhaps they know they will never compete with the Big Apples Bagels out of state, in Chicago, where I frequented. So why bother.

I swing out here about once a month to grab a couple dozen bagels for my Weds. meetings. We’ve had people bring in every bagel under the sun, but they want me to grab these because they are top notch! They are soft and delicious. I’ve personally tried all of their regular bagels and cream cheeses and many of their seasonal. These are the only bagels I will eat without cream cheese because the flavor is incredible. Keep up the good work and I’ll see you guys soon!

Everytime I drive through Cedar ave and pass Big Apple Bagels brings back memories they actually had them in my high school way back when… So I decided to stop in again the bring back the high school days. Still the same soft bagels made fresh daily my favorite is just the plain one along with the cinnamon sugar bagel both sure winners. If you like poppy seeds their everything bagel is also very tasty. Everyone is super friendly and this place is always packed in the mornings but they get your order quickly filled and done. I haven’t ate here for lunch or anthing else but the bagels. The price is comparable to Brueggers and to be honest I would much rather go to Big Apple then anywhere else for my daily dose of soft chewy filling goodness with a side of cream cheese. YUM.

I go to Big Apple Bagel for lunch at least once a week. I particularly enjoy their bagel sandwiches, specifically the«Mediterranean veg-out,» their only vegetarian specialty bagel sandwich. It is amazingly good. The bagels are super fresh, the cream cheese is top notch, and every few weeks they have a 3-day $ 0.49 bagel sale for Thursday-Saturday, which is when I stock up. I was actually not a fan of their coffee drinks at all, but they have free wifi, which I’m going to go ahead and say makes up for it.

Yeah, guys, no joke. These bagels are unlike anything I’ve ever had. It’s hard to describe what it’s like. Dough-y? Stretchy? All in a very good way of course! Simply amazing.

I don’t know if it’s the Jew in me, but I just love bagels and will always love the bagel. Big Apple Bagel makes a mean bagel. I get it toasted dark with low-fat cream cheese. I love um– crunchy on the outside and moist and warm in the inside. I thought I could only find bagels like this at My Favorite Muffin, I was wrong…
