Newly named«Cinco De Mayo». Looks to be owned and operated by a 30 something Hispanic couple. Polite, prompt, clean, uncomplicated menu, great low prices, ample servings, green salsa is mild, red salsa is hot, beans not watered down, if you love a homemade corn tortilla you want the dish that starts with an «H». Skip the chips, not homemade & taste cheap, but no matter as one should focus on the authentic home crafted goodness authentic Mexican cuisine. Best of all, Flan of generous size for $ 2.00(FGS)!!!

My sweetums had seen this place and suggested it for dinner one night. I’m glad we stopped in because it’s super cute and totally family style. We started munching on the standard chips and salsa that you find at most mexican restaurants. I found the salsa to be quite tasty with a nice mellow after burn of spiciness. The chips had been warmed up by our waitress, which is always a nice touch that I enjoy. Heating up the corn tortilla chips makes for a nice dense crips and it truly brings out the flavor of the chips. I ordered the chicken tacos with rice and beans. The chicken tacos were awesome, the rice was satisfactory, but the refried beans looked kind of like cat food… dry and icky. I won’t hold it against these guys though because I enjoyed every other thing on my plate. Our waitress brought out some fresh home made guacomole for us to devour, compliments of the house– nice touch! The Border House is just that, a house that serves as a restaurant. You’ve got to figure that the people working there are all family or atleast friends of the family. There is nothing flashy about this place, if anything it’s a little dive-y. The staff are all hospitable and quick to help. I’ll definately be going back for more!

Baby dearest and I dropped in to this house-transformed-to-restaurant earlier this evening. Everything inside rang of family values and handed down recipes. The service was polite, quick(and cute). We were prompted with the standard chips/salsa appetizer. The salsa was definitely something to write home about. It was spicy, green, and addicting! Our tacos came soon after. While I wasn’t impressed with the shell, I did like the meat. I ingested my food so quickly, the staff brought out some complimentary guacamole. Nice save. Great guac, too! I hope to see this place survive. I’ll be stopping in now and then.
