This place is amaaazing. If you want GOOD, authentic Mexican food please check this place out. The Machetes are to die for and the horchata is great as well. The carne asada and al pastor meat is delicious in the machete

Stopped in for the first time. Delicious tacos. Fun environment, good music, soccer on the TV. Very light, clean, and open. But those tacos are terrific. I had the tripe and the pastor. I used the smoky red sauce on the tripa. Terrific complex sauce, great enhancer of the fried tripe. The pastor could have stand alone with no sauce but I added the salsa verde. I could just have used a spoon on either salsa are very good. The pastor was everything it should be: thin sliced, bright red, a little charred in places. The addition of the pineapple sealed the deal. The tortillas are also spot on and sprinkled with just enough onion and cilantro. 3 napkin lunch. I can’t wait to try out all the different meats.

Fantastic food! You can really tell that it is fresh and they use quality ingredients. We both ordered three different tacos and loved every one. Unlike at some restaurants, there was no grease dripping! The tamales were also excellent. This will be our new go-to taco place. Cant wait to go back!

Great food. Probably the best Mexican food in the twin cities. But be prepared to wait, Usually takes 10 – 20 minutes for food to get out.

Forget Chipotle(yes, I said that). This place is HANDSDOWN the BEST food on all sides of Mexican establishments. This place makes Chipotle look like a Taco Bell.

Fresh and delicious. I’ve never been to Mexico, but I know real food when I taste it, and you’ll find it here. We’ve tried multiple menu items, but our favorites are the machete and pozole. The horchata and hibiscus agua frescas were perfect. I’m confused why anyone would complain about prices here. Portions are very generous, and prices are low. If it were closer to my house, I’d be here weekly for sure.

Please keep going to this place, we need more options like this around here! It’s good, but some items are more expensive than I’d like. They are open quite late I believe too! One of the only options past 9 or 10pm!

I love this place. Great food at reasonable prices. Service can be a bit slow and sometimes they get the order wrong but they are still awfully new. My recommendation would be the crispy tripe. Don’t let bad experience with rubbery tripe turn you off to this tender yet crunchy and tasty treat.

Excellent place! The owner is hard working and respectable. I recommend this establishment to anyone looking to try something new. Taco Libre is a fresh face to Mexican Cuisine… and everyone should try Taco Libre

I couldn’t believe how good the tacos where! If anyone has the chance to try them I hope you do. Beef tacos are my favorite my husband really likes The Machete he keep asking that he wants another one. We both really like it.

I don’t have an intricate review, but I can tell you that it’s delicious. We ordered 3 items from their menu all 3 of them were fresh, tasty, and well presented. By far the better Taqueria in St.Paul.

I stop to check out this place and I was very please with my experience. Restaurants was very clean and staff very friendly. Food taste good I had the machete suadero but I think I got carnitas a little off from the auténtic suadero from the street tacos from Mexico City. It took longer then I thought to get my food but I enjoy eating it very filling.

A friend recommended this place and now I’m here for the second day in a row. I tried the pozole and it was very good! Great home made taste for sure, and they make it fresh everyday. They offered me a free refill on my agua fresca(which is usually unheard of in any Mexican restaurant) because they thought they were taking too long in getting my order ready. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Everything is fresh and delicious. The only downside is that it can get pricey really quickly if you want to try a few different things. I still can’t bring myself to justify buying the street tacos which cost $ 2.75 a piece and come in a 6″ tortilla. You can get a lot more food for your back making a different selection.

So one day all of a sudden there is flashy looking new taco joint on Robert right down the street from a bunch of other taco places that are, for the most part, very good. So i went in to investigate and immediately I’m impressed, big time. They have street style tacos with tons of options. Most importantly they have tacos al pastor, with a for real spit with pineapple and onion and all. The servings are generous. If you are hungry get the Machete, it’s like a 16 inch taco. The pastor is great, the mushrooms and cheese tacos were very good also. The salsas are all super fresh and tasty. The menu looks really amazing, too. There is menudo, tripe, corn, tamales, all the usual sides and some you might not know. The rice was really hard to put down. I’ll do some more research here and check back in with more info on the food. Now listen, we here in Saint Paul have a hard time getting food at night. Even on the weekends. So this place is a godsend, as these guys stay open till midnight during the week, and 4AM on Friday and Saturday. On Robert street, heck in all of the west side, it’s hard to find decent food past 2, or midnight. Thank you TacoLibre! Plus the place has a lucha libre motif that looks very cool and very clean. They have done a great job here. Also people that work there were super nice and detail focused. Our food was perfect. Good job on standing out in the land of great Mexican food! See you soon.

Finally got around to trying this place out today and was very impressed! It’s a little spendy at ~$ 12 but that’s the going rate for«Fast-Casual» these days. The Machete was HUGE and will provide an extra snack for me at a late time for that $ 12 so not bad when you factor that in. The food was awesome! Very Authentic! The staff was awesome and the damn OWNER was running the till! You can tell he’s a very hard and PASSIONATE worker so give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed!

I don’t normally visit fast food places and certainly don’t Unilocal review them. However, this isn’t your normal fast food and this is not some American taco dog joint. These are REAL street tacos!!! And street corn! WOW! You can spice it up as you want. I think they are keeping it tame for the people of West St. Paul. I need to ask them for more heat next time. We’re talking made fresh while you wait type food! And their hours!!! They’re open till midnight all week and 4am Friday and Saturday! Come in and get your after bar tacos.
