Wasn’t even in the mood for an Americano but Claddagh just won me over with theirs. Also smells so good in there I wish they would capture it in a candle for me.

Currently drinking the dirty Seamus and the hot Molly, being a self proclaimed coffee snob I’m impressed. The homemade chai is wonderful and full of spice(LOVE the cardamom) and chai is always best with espresso! Well done! Only thing is I would like more heat in the hot Molly. :)

Love that Claddagh brews local coffee and uses the best milk and homemade syrups. Their food menu is simple but awesome. The Irish oats w fixins is a great deal, and I love the paninis too. I highly recommend the Hot Molly – basically a latte w local honey and cayenne – or the lavender latte when in season. All in all, just a fantastic local coffee shop!

Great atmosphere and excellent coffee. We told an employee we had never been and he walked us through everything. He was even honest enough to tell us that the cold brew wasn’t up to par that day. A bit pricy but worth it; even had a one man band singing.

Delicious panini sandwich that was so good I came back twice in one week. Cool coffehouse setting that offers a dinner feel overlooking West 7th street upstairs, and a cozy basement setting downstairs. I’m not a coffee house person, but this is my favorite coffee house. So 5 stars it is.

Very cool place. The food was great, the coffee and tea DELICIOUS, and the service very good. Atmosphere — if you like Celtic design, this place is perfect for you. The exposed brick and dark wood tones really set the scene like a coffee shop in Dublin. The service was also very good. The people at the cash register were friendly and the waiter who brought our food was probably one of the happiest people I’ve ever had wait for me. Very nice. Food and Drink — I decided to go with the veggie breakfast panini and their signature, family recipe Chai tea latte and my wife went with the turkey and bacon panini and a cinnamon spice latte. Mmmm MMMMM they were delicious. The breakfast panini had a really nice blend of egg, cheese and pesto. Not too cheesy, not overbearingly pesto-y. The Chai tea was probably one of the best I’ve had with a little bite from the cinnamon that went a long way to enhance the flavor of the tea. I can’t speak as much about the turkey panini since I didn’t get to taste it as much, but the bite I did have was really good, and my wife’s latte was also very good. Price — the price was a bit more than what I was expecting for a a coffee shop($ 8.95 for the panini where I expected maybe $ 6 or so) but the portions made up for the price. Overall, loved the atmosphere with its Irish tones, the food was great, the wait staff helpful and happy, and the price fair! I’d definitely go back.

I have been searching desperately for a good coffee shop with excellent coffee, decent prices, great atmosphere, and one that isn’t so pretentious and full of themselves — And I found it! I have been there a few times, but it has quickly become the place I meet my good friend on Sunday mornings. I like that there are good food choices that are HOMEMADE. None of this prewrapped and shove in the microwave crap that you get at Starbucks and Caribou. I also love that there are snacky options, too. Instead of getting a full on breakfast or breakfast sandwich, I usually share a coffee cake with my friend(THEBEST coffee cake EVER, by the way), and then we each get a breakfast slider, which is the perfect size. So far, for coffee, I have only had the Black & Tan, which is so good I’m afraid to try anything else in case I don’t like it as much! As for food, I have tried two different sliders: bacon & cheddar, and ham & gouda. I’m going to be very real here. The eggs are extremely bland. They do not salt them, which is probably the best way to err. I was very unimpressed with the super thin, fast food style bacon, but then I’m a bit of a bacon snob. My friend orders the bacon and cheddar every time and loves it. The last time we went, I tried the ham and gouda, and it was significantly better than the bacon! It was much more flavorful, and the natural salts complimented the saltless egg beautifully. I will definitely be getting that again! Moral of the story: Go to Claddagh Coffee. It is such a hidden gem in this city.

This is one of my offices in the Twin Cities. Very chilled and cozy. I could wear whatever I want and do whatever I want… If I wanted to I could sleep downstairs and no one would even noticed me… ok, not really. Too bad it is a coffee shop, not my personal space area. This place is great with amazing staff and a wonderful list of specialty espresso coffee. I absolutely enjoyed their Dirty Seamus and Nutty Mick. If you are lactose they can substitute to Soy for you. Their coffee ranges from $ 2.75 to $ 4.75 which is not bad. Aside from that they serve breakfast and lunch. I had their Belgian Waffle and it was good. I think this place has the best Tomato Basil Soup in the cities. Just too bad that they don’t serve it during summer but understandable. The space upstairs is a little small but I like it because of the big windows. Downstairs is bigger for group work or meetings. Overall it is a great place if you are ever in the St Paul area. Street parking.

This is one of my family’s favorite shops in St Paul. The Irish theme is pretty unique. Try the ‘dirty Seamus’ if you’re looking for a classic with a twist!

Claddagh Coffee is probably my current favorite independent coffee place in West Seventh(and Saint Paul and the Twin Cities in general for that matter!) I love hanging out in the basement of this place because it feels like a lounge, the upstairs is bright and sunny and if you think this place looks like a bar it’s because it used to be. Like their neighbor down the street, Fresh Grounds, this place seems to speak to supporting modern-day coffeehouse culture in the area. My favorite things: buttermilk scones with raspberry curd and devonshire crème, iced salty dogs served in mason jar glasses, and that leprechaun in the floor vent.

The coffee is great, but you can pretty much expect that. The staff is helpful and friendly… thanks helpful friendly staff! But what really earned this place 5 stars is their Coffee Cake. HOLYEXPLETIVE! How??? How can Coffee Cake be this good? Is it because the slices of cake are massive? No, even a few crumbs would have me raving. Is it because they use magical sugar, butter, and cream… maybe? Or is it that this is just the best recipe for Coffee Cake that has ever been created and it’s lovingly prepared each day by the hands of angels… definitely!

Stopped in with a friend after going to the High Bridge dog park. Not my cup of tea I’ll say but definitely has a following crowd. Pros: –warm atmosphere –lots of seating, they have a downstairs that includes a few couches and more tables to work/meet/study –decent list of coffee drinks, both unique and staples –tea is inexpensive(under $ 3) –not overly loud, good place to study/work Cons: –the barista was a little awkward and looked at me a bit funny when I asked for whipped cream –an iced caramel latte w/coconut cream came up to $ 5.92??? –the coffee in the latte tasted a bit burnt, no caramel flavoring and barely a hint of sweetness! If you’re looking for a cool coffee shop to study or meet, this is it! The drinks taste good but lack in the flavor/sweetness department(just from my tastebuds).

I had a lovely, productive afternoon here. Excellent WiFi, pleasent music(at just the right volume) and amazing drinks. My favorite was the London Fog — first place outside the NW I’ve found who makes them properly. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Gluten-free options for those in need. Ask for a punch card! Peek downstairs for comfy couch seating. I will surely be back soon. Thank you!

This place is absolutely top notch. Claddagh is up there among the best coffee shops I’ve ever been to. They make creative espresso drinks with unique flavor combinations. Same story with their pastries(Rosemary currant scone). Everything is handmade, local, and damn good. Scone was perfect and there’s an art to scone making. Espresso was velvety and flavorful. Presentation and service are pure class as well. I don’t live in MN but I’m frequently here on business and will make it a point to return here to explore more of the menu.

I love Ireland. I love tea. I love nice people. This place had all of these things. So through deductive reasoning I love this place. Had Barry’s tea without the blackberry with milk and sugar as they do in the motherland. Total: $ 3.23 plus tip(tip these nice people– they have rent and families too)

Came in here mid-morning on St. Patrick’s Day as part of my personal Irish celebrations. I got a Black & Tan which, for coffee, is a latte with honey and cinnamon. I loved the inside and the location was great. It had a very cozy pub feeling and I love that they serve actual food as well, not just muffins in a case. Before coming and then upon walking in, I had pretty high hopes. Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed when it came to both prices and flavour. A 16oz to go was over $ 5 and I found it to be watery — not even milky, just little to no flavour at all. I at least expected to taste the honey, but maybe the cinnamon was overpowering everything else. I didn’t finish it all which is pretty rare for me. I can only assume all the 5-star praise comes from people who had the food or don’t like a strong flavoured coffee drink. Also, the outdoor seating was still chained up even though I would have gladly sat outside. Surely Irish Minnesotans are a heartier bunch than to avoid being outside on a 40 °F sunny day. Super disappointed, but I would still come back to try something else if I’m in the area again.

A serious espresso lovers paradise in a desolate landscape of Starbucks and Caribou! I drove almost ten miles and it was worth every bit of it! Barista Becky made a perfect traditional quad shot macchiato with a rich thick crema and foam that would float a spoon and stand up on your finger! Comfortably appointed historic interior with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and high ceilings. Plenty of great seating for privacy and groups as well as a downstairs area. You’re just a few sips away from awesomeness when you walk in the door!

What a neat place! Had a terrific cold press coffee in a neat glass jar sitting at one of their outside tables on a nice sunny day. So lucky am I! Inside was nice with dark wood tables. There is also a downstairs with couches where you could hang with a group if you wanted to. Cozy! For lunch I had the black bean burger with avocado and salsa with a side of greens. Hit the spot. Nice people behind the counter. Great choices of goodies in the glass case(buttermilk scone, chocolate muffin, monster cookie…) The goodie I took home was the chocolate oat bar. BEST ever! Huge! I had eaten half before I realized I should’ve taken a photo… I could never forget its girth, its richness, its satisfying chewiness… I have to get another! I will dream about this place until I go back. Dreams do come true! (and I will get a photo for you :)
