NOWI-FI! I chose this location to meet with someone and have access to the internet. It makes it difficult when the coffee shop has no Wi-Fi. It does, however, have a computer that looks to be 10 years old sitting forlornly in the corner. I asked the barista and she said she didn’t know when they would get wi-fi access. It’s 2015 — c’mon guys, get your act together. No complaints on the coffee, though.

Judging by the smell when I walked up to the counter, someone must have taken a piss right underneath where I was standing. The coffee was what you’d expect from a Dunn Bros. By the way, the picture above that says«locally owned» is not a picture of this location.

The staff here is generally pleasant, though a few baristas seem annoyed that you would order coffee from them. It’s a very tiny, crowded space attached to the Finnish Bistro, and even with two people waiting in line it is cramped and hard to move around in. It’s a fine place to pick up a cuppa, but not the best place to relax and spend the day reading.

This Dunn’s would get more points if we gave points for surly employees. Even with rapid change over of staff there always seems to be this, «Yeh, what d’you want?» attitude. By corporate book they repeat the order to make sure they understood and invariably they repeat it back wrong, no matter who is behind the counter. All drinks are to go so that is not the problem. «Medium size dark roast» «Did you say two Chai’s? «Must be my Midwest born clear voice wide open mouth enunciation that throws them off. When asking for a pound of beans to go there is the usual, «What now?» the frown of having to move a little more. The real estate is shared by The Finnish Bistro where you have to get any pastry treats to go with the coffee. Even more sullenness. The windows are high and the table low for an outdoor view. Try to grab a wobbly stool at the window counter, or better yet try another location.

This is the Dunn Brothers location that’s attached to the Finnish Bistro next door. Order food at the Finnish Bistro counter and then wander over to Dunn Brothers for your coffee fix while you wait for your food. The staff at this particular Dunn Brothers is super friendly and really accommodating. And(bonus) they always make my iced coffee with an extreme amount of crushed ice — just the way I like it. Also, interesting note, they have a selection of greeting cards available at the counter. They’re from a local photographer and feature many of the great landmarks of the Twin Cities. I totally love these cards and find them handy to pick up especially if we’ve had visitors. I can usually find a card featuring one of the places that we took them, so it’s a perfect personal touch.

The beans are very good and toasted on site, however I stop buying here because of one bad experience. On one occasion I went there around 8pm, the cashier/server/barista lady was rude when I wished to buy a bag of beans, and keep pointing to the clock on the wall and my mistake of coming to purchase when the café is about to close. Good place, good beans nevertheless.

Stopped by Dunn Brothers for a Gingerbread Latte to help make my Monday after Christmas a little brighter. I’ve gotten coffee and chai tea here a few times, and it always tastes great. One thing to watch out for, I think I might have been charged too much. I ordered a small latte, and it was $ 3.60 with a $ 1 off coupon. Unless coffee has gone up in price, that seemed a little high to me.

One of my neighborhood coffee shops. The coffee is predictably good. They fresh roast coffee there, so the smells are great, and grabbing a bag to go is great!
