I am pretty good at judging a person’s character within the first few minutes of meeting someone and right away I knew that Dr. Erickson had the worst first impression of any doctor/dentist/provider I have ever seen. His«bedside» manner was awful. I should have gotten up and left right then and there to spare myself the humiliation. I went in a happy girl excited about straightening my teeth(with years of not wearing my retainer after braces) and left in tears, feeling awful about my appearance and wanting to find the nearest mirror to see if what he said about me was really true. I routinely see a dentist and just recently had my wisdom teeth removed so I guess that means I have an oral surgeon too and neither of them have ever come close the insult that Dr. Erickson said about me. There is a way of going about telling someone that they may need a certain corrective procedure and Dr. Erickson did not have that approach, nor I have been told that I would need a procedure. Telling someone to go back and look at family pictures to track the progression of their chin and jaw growth and telling them that«yes we can straighten your teeth but your real problem is your protruding chin so you need facial/jaw reconstructive surgery» is not going to make any patient feel confident about their appearance. I was there for an invisalign consult and he went off on a tangent about how it is my fault that I developed dry sockets after my wisdom teeth removal because I waited too long and that he recommends all of his patients to get them out at age 16 – 17. Either way, not the point of my visit. Among many other comments made in that appointment it is safe to say that I will NOT be going back. This guy was a total prick.
