Should be a 0 star. There were 3 girls working in front doing absolutely nothing but chit chatting with each other to start. The duck phở… it tasted terrible. I’ll let the picture do the talking but talk about overpriced soggy noodles with a drop of broth that tasted like hot salt water. Never ever again but what do you expect from an airport Asian restaurant where none of the people cooking the food was Asian… My advice, save yourself the trouble and get something else. This place is one of the worst places I’ve ever tried.

So, as good as this place smells, the food I ordered was incredibly sub par. I ordered the $ 5+ bottle of JOIA pineapple, coconut & nutmeg soda, which while completely overpriced, was very good. However, the Nabeyaki Udon noodle bowl was a big bummer. As others have said before, waaaaay too salty. The shrimp tempura are small and just ok. The crispy beaded and sliced hockey wasn’t bad and the consistency of the noodles was good, but the over salted broth just ruined everything. Will not be coming here again on my next pass through this airport, will give someplace else a shot. Server was friendly. Charging stations at every seat and iPads were nice, but food was a huge disappointment.

Terrible fried rice. Uncooked with excess soy sauce. Appetizer that came after the main entrée was delivered(and the waitress took away the apps prior to my finishing as she saw the main dish on my table that another waiter had served — what a circus) Appetizer of oyster mushroom was cooked to about 75% and barely palatable. Service was barely existent. Only one thing they served that was good with that salty food — their ice water! Bad airplane food, now brought to you at the airport!

Really nice to relax and enjoy a meal with fresh ingredients, served by a friendly staff, quick service and a nice environment. I will return again when next in this airport. There’s nothing like this a LAX.

OMG! The Toyko Pork ramen was one of the best ramen bowls I’ve had and I have had a lot of ramen including in Japan. The Inari sushi was good too. Fairly priced too. This just became my favorite airport restaurant!

This is my favorite place to go for delicious ramen noodle soup. My husband and I ordered curry ramen, Tokyo ramen and Shanghai noodle in the past and they are all beyond my expectations! Every time we take a flight at MSP, we make sure to pay Shoyu a visit. Highlights of this place: — order and pay from iPad at each table — menu shows pictures for all the food. I wish every restaurant will do that. As a side note, if u have been to China, u will commonly see pictures in the menu. — you can check ur flights on the iPad in case of flight schedule changes and reminders. — price, sure, is a bit more expensive(about 20−30% higher than a local nice ramen place), but for restaurant of this quality within an airport, it’s fairly reasonable. Hope my review will be helpful to the Unilocal community.

I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon. The noodles, tempura, and egg tamagoyaki were fantastic and delicious. The broth was extremely salty though. Orders are done with ipads so that’s pretty neat.

Food wasn’t flavorful and unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by how it was cooked; either too long or not enough. After I received my food, nobody checked in with me to see if I liked the food. I ended up leaving and getting snacks before my flight.

Horrible even by airport standards. Slow, non– chalant service. Food is pricey and not worth the effort. Buy yourself a sandwich somewhere else and call it a day.

I’m a little shocked at some of the poor reviews this place gets. First of all, this is Japanese airport food in Minneapolis, so you need to temper your expectations a bit. I’ve eaten the Tokyo Style and Curry Ramen here and enjoyed both. The broth for the Tokyo Style isn’t 100% authentic, but still has good flavor. The pork was tender, but I would prefer the egg to be soft boiled instead of hard boiled. The best part was the noddles, which were clearly fresh. The other reviews that dump on the noodles(i.e. called them spaghetti or Top Ramen) clearly have never had fresh ramen noodles. The curry ramen had a good curry flavor and very tender beef. The egg was nicely poached as well. Definitely worth ordering. The service is prompt and unintrusive as you order on iPads at the tables. They also have a nice selection of beer, wine, and spirits.

Above average sushi, my rear! I had the New Style California Roll, which was mediocre, and the Dynamite Roll, which was downright nasty. The fish tasted fishy rather than fresh. Blech! Paul got the udon noodles with chicken and shrimp. It was also mediocre. My «hibiscus» tea tasted of cinnamon, not hibiscus. I didn’t care one way or the other about ordering via an iPad, but it sucked to pay for food and tip for service before the meal. Also, our server never asked how our food was. Overpriced mediocre to lousy food and indifferent service? Do yourself a favor and get a Chai latte and a piece of lemon load from Starbucks instead!

I love their concept: iPad ordering at every seat, perfect for the traveler on the go! However, their food is not that great. I got the combination udon and the soup was really salty and the udon itself was not anything special. I got in and out really quickly, but wish their food quality was better.

I dont give bad reviews often but the ramen here was terrible. Just awful. I had the miso ramen, which is supposed to be their«signature dish». Soggiest noodles I’ve ever had. Broth tasted like they threw some Cajun seasoning in water. Even the egg wasn’t poached correctly and came out disfigured and mushy.

Based on the reviews, not quite sure why I was so shocked by how not delicious the ramen was. A decent portion of noodles floating in a slightly spicy but overall tasteless broth with a wheel of fatty meat and baby bok choy. Next time, I’ll bring my own Shin cup.

Had a soft shell carb toll and peach lemonade. It’s very fancy here that you get to order food through the iPad at every table. The roll is so so, not bad but not surprisingly good.

I know I shouldn’t expect much in an airport restaurant, but Ramen isn’t that hard is it? Ordered the curry ramen, would have been better off with a package of top ramen for 29 cents. The broth was essentially Sysco beef soup base with maybe a touch of curry powder and five spice. Dump in some spaghetti a big chunk of very fatty beef some enormous sprigs of broccolini mushrooms and an egg. Tasted like crap and looked even worse. Of course they make you pay up front so I guess they think they can throw anything in a bowl and call it ramen!

Every table has ipad to order meal from. What I ordered: Spicy tuna roll — flavor and freshness was lacking. Tuna color was off and wasn’t the best roll I have had. I would skip on this one. Spring salad mix with chicken katsu — salad pieces were okay. I had some wilted pieces. Chicken katsu was dry and coating outside was very thin and not crispy. They did not use panko… seems like regular flour. Service was okay — had to ask for water refills. You have to tip when you order your foood.

Eh… I wouldn’t come back here again. The venue has a modern look. There is a iPad in every seat you can take your orders from so you don’t have to wait. They even have plus at the table so you can charge your phone. Now this is the only good perk here. The food here was just horrible. I ordered the pork bone ramen and it was the worst ramen I have ever had. They gave me a lot of noodles and barely any soup. When I asked for more soup, they were going to charge me an extra $ 2. The soup wasn’t even that flavorful. All I tasted was a lot of soy sauce mixed with water. So I asked so hot water instead to dilute the saltiness. I also ordered spicy tuna rolls which didn’t taste that fresh. The color of the tuna just didn’t look right and the flavor just wasn’t there either. I did not enjoy my experience and wouldn’t come back even if I was craving for any noodle soup. Save yourself $ 15 and you will have better food at food court.

After literally the worst airline in the world(Delta, you suck) booked my connection wrong leaving me stranded here for close to 7 hours I decided to give some ramen here a try. The negative reviews almost scared me off but I’m glad I gave it a try anyways. I’ve paid way more and gotten way worse ramen. The broth was a LITTLE bland, but still pretty good, the pork was excellent, and the noodles were great. The price was really fair too. If this wasn’t in an airport I would definitely come here as a restaurant on its own. I love the iPad service. If you want anything, just press a button. Ready to order? put it in the iPad and it comes out when ready, and pay at the table. It makes everything really efficient so you aren’t left waiting around in case you have a flight to catch.

I have eaten here twice, and the food was good. I’ve had sushi rolls and several appetizers and a noodle dish and they were all prepared well. They were a little bit pricey but when you have to eat in an airport do you expect it to cost a little more. The big problem I have with these new places at the airport where you order from the iPad is that they put the tip on your bill before the service is provided. They have zero incentive to be prompt how to go the extra mile to earn their tip.
