Snuffy’s Malt Shop

We love Snuffy’s. Our family has been coming here for years and now that the kids are grown and gone, we still find ourselves craving the taste of the Snuffy burger… whether it’s nostalgia or their great cooking, we just can’t decide, but we’ll keep coming back. Thanks, Snuffy’s!

I went here with my family;an old fashioned malt shop setting, everyone was very pleased with their delicious burgers, &many choices for all, the fries golden brown generously sized and seasoned very nicely! Traditional American good food for all ages. The service was friendly and quick. I would be very happy to come back soon.

I have only been to Snuffy’s once and was neutral towards it. Not great but not bad either. If you want a cheap decent burger, Snuffy’s is the place to go.

Stopped in for a quick veggie burger with gf bun and onion rings and it reminded me why l love this place. Great food, great service, fun setting and FAST! No need to find a drive-​thru when you can get in and out of here in under 30 minutes. Super yum!

Long wait for food, and then didn’t get one milk shake until we’d finished our food. Terrible service.

Got the Bavarian burger and a pineapple malt. Food came out quickly and tasted hot and fresh. It’s a little dark and gloomy inside, though.

The malts are the best. The food isn’t amazing but it is pretty good and affordable. Old school place.

Just recently moved to the Metro area and have had a lot of people tell me to try this place out! We walked in and someone helped us right away. We tried the Chili Cheese fries which are amazing. I love the fresh jalapeños on top. The server that helped us was very attentive and helpful! She pointed us in the direction of the lunch specials. After we were done eating we shared a chocolate malt! Probably the best part of the meal! I’m a sweets lover and it made my night. The only reason I didn’t give this place a five star was because all the entrees and side were separate SK it was a little pricey. Still a great place to check out! There’s sports memorabilia on the walls which was awesome for me since I am a huge sports fan.

Food was delicious! Service was good too. Ordered Cali burger and fully loaded (?) burger, corn dog kids meal, and cheeseburger kids meal with gluten free bun. Wife, myself, and kids enjoyed all 4 items for dinner, good ¹⁄₃ lb burgers and the bacon was def awesome (maybe smoked applewood flavor). Place was clean, not too busy, and rest of staff was friendly. Wife stated the malt she got was somehow off taste. She still ate it down though. Nothing over the top and overall met expectations. Solid visit and we will be back.

Burgers & fries were delicious & affordable… didn’t save room for a malt. The atmosphere was mellow & they had 1950’s & 60’s jams playing that I remember as oldies when I was a kid. Definitely a place I will return to.

We’ve never had a bad experience there. The malts are absolutely huge and delicious too! Two adults could easily share one but don’t be cheap, buy two, you won’t regret it! Their burgers are pretty standard but the buns are attractive. Do buy one order of onion rings unless you can put down the malt and the big order of rings.

Stopped in with my mom and my three year old daughter. The host was great. He seated us promptly and brought us water a few seconds later.
That’s were things slowed down. The server stopped by and asked if we were ready to order. We put in our food order and she left without asking about any additional beverages we would like. She did ask if I would like my daughter’s food with our order or before. I said before, so it would keep her busy.
After about a half hour, we noticed that people around us were starting to receive their orders. Including several tables that were seated 10 minutes after us.
My mom asked a different server if our food was coming out. Moments later our sever brought our food out and ‘plopped’ all of our burger baskets on the table.
Once we were done eating, we asked for a shake to go. After waiting 20 more minutes, we paid our bill and left without the shake.
Maybe it was an off day for the staff, but for a place that depends on families for their source of revenue. It seems that they aren’t interested in providing good service in a timely fashion.

We really enjoyed our visit. Service was good, food was good, fun atmosphere, kids loved it! Prices were nice too. We will be back next time we’re in St. Paul.

Well worth the wait! Stopped in after a walk around como and got the malt with the banana and brownie and fudge if I remember correctly. oooooooooooooo so goooooood!
Can’t wait to come back and try the full menu!

Great spot, great food, great people. Definitely try the southwestern burger if you have the Chance. If you are into Malts that is there specialty and they have an excellent selection of options to choose from.

I have ordered the snuffys colada
Which had. Strawberry, banana, & pineapple that was the only great thing about my whole meal
I paid 9 bucks for a bacon cheeseburger with fries that wasn’t worth it .
The atmosphere its OKAY
Not sure what the hype about this place is but its just OKAY
The managers aren’t so welcoming but the guys behind the register are pretty chill.

Tucked away in a strip mall, Snuffy’s Larpenteur Ave location isn’t the easiest to find for first time visitors, but it’s worth the additional time it took us to find it.
We sought out Snuffy’s for a malt shop fix before attending a local performance of ‘Happy Days the Musical.’ We couldn’t have selected a better destination for this purpose. Snuffy’s offers nostalgia, décor and some of the tastiest diner fare in the Twin Cities.
The Malts. Classic and plentiful. We ordered large butterscotch, salted caramel, coffee-​chocolate and salted caramel-​chocolate chip variations. Since large servings fill a malt tumbler more than twice over, everyone at the table was able to get their fill (and then some) of all varieties. The only complaint? We ordered to much. A large is big enough for two to share. Regular-​sized malts would have been enough for each of us.
We shared baskets of fries and onion rings at the table. The fries were good — and a required accessory to malts since we favor dipping them. I favored the later more than onion rings I’ve had at most local venues. They were huge, crispy, dark and soft in the center w/​o being greasy.
Snuffy’s serves «classic» burger combinations on a soft, toasted bun. They’re good burgers that are perfect for accompanying a malt — Snuffy’s star attraction.

I don’t have to make homemade chili anymore because apparently someone gave Snuffy’s my recipe. When I bit into my extremely tasty bowl of chili, I immediately did a double take to see if I had made it. Since I had been working all day, I was certain I did not… but it was impressive!
Besides amazing Chili, the burgers here are also fantastic, the fries are a great side to go with the burger, I don’t think anything would disappoint, the food was great!
That being said, I almost gave them 4 stars (or 3) because the service is just terrible. Both times there was a lot of confusion and we had to ask for certain things multiple times… but it’s a strip mall malt shop, so lower your expectations for service and go eat some really great tasting food!

We come here a couple of times a year. I order something different each time. This time I ordered the cod commuter filet sandwich. Honestly, i was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t top notch, but it was a good sized filet and breaded nicely. I also had their onion rings which I will continue to get. They were deifies delicious!
We’ll be back.
