What a difference a month makes. Unfortunately this restaurant seems to be sliding down hill. I had the same waiter I had last April when I posted my last review. This time he was not very attentive or helpful. Why am I down grading my review: 1) They were out of basic Spanish meats for the Tabla Mixtas(meat and cheese platter) seriously it’s a Spanish restaurant we expect the manager to order appropriately. And although we still ordered it, they charged us the same price, even though we only got the Serrano ham. The price should have been adjusted($ 14.95) 2) the once spectacular Cava sangria was weak. I should have known something was up when we ordered a picture and the waiter did not make it at the table, which was the policy in the past. It actually tasted more like club soda than Cava. There was obviously no brandy in it as when I held up the glass to the waiter to show him it was clear, brandy gives it a golddish color. He did bring a shot of brandy to his credit, however, the watered down picture is not worth $ 36. Hopefully they will fix these issues so they don’t go out of business. I will give them one more chance and post my update.

Overall great tapas. They have a little of everything, but some are better than others. The tuna and octopus ceviche, steak with leeks, and pork shank where all great. Would also definitely recommend the sangria. However, the chorizo was just an average generic sausage and the chicken dish we had was nothing to write home about.

I’m in Tampa for business along with other people so we have to keep our bills separate and with 6 ppl I could tell our waiter was a little annoyed. The hostess was very nice and accommodating but our server not so much. Their house ceviche was just ok but many of the other tapas were good. Mussels were my favorite and the albondigas weren’t bad. The prices weren’t bad so didn’t feel like it was a waste. Just expecting better ceviche from a place called ceviche. The location is nice especially the outdoor seating.

Tonight my girlfriend and I went out for dinner, we had Cameron as a server and he was great. He gave us excellent recommendations and described them all to a tee. Friendly, knowledgable service paired with a great kitchen is what it’s all about. Also the Tuesday tapas deal was a great way to try a lot of fun food and and not spend too much!

It’s been a few years since I’ve been back to Ceviche and I knew right away why I haven’t been back. From the food to the service, thumbs down. The food was shall I shall below average to just average. The service was alright. The server which was a female seemed to only care about pouring the sangria drinks to the guys. She kept coming to the table to ask how everything was but keeps forgetting to bring over the hot sauce that I’ve asked for many times prior. Food was average and cold, service was alright. But décor? I’ll give it a 4 star! Why? Because it was decorated beautifully. It’ll be the only 4 star I’ll give this place.

Service was great. Mojito was delicious. I got the mushrooms with goat cheese and it was just ok. Awesome location right across from pioneer park. Also meter parking all around. Weekend garage nearby is $ 1 for 4 hours. Would come back for sure!

Well it has been a while since we were here but it is still a pretty cool place. We sat at the café ceviche on the sidewalk and it was great. Great place to sit and soak up some Florida sunshine and have some really good tapas.

Excellent tapas and a huge variety to chose from! I dined here on Saturday evening and had no trouble getting a table. the wait was around 5 minutes. A table of four of us sat on the porch. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere. The porch is like a wrap around porch you would see on a Victoria style home. They have a decent Spanish wine list, but I would go for the sangria. Fruity and refreshing and is served in three different sizes. I thought everything was reasonably priced and delicious, not one thing I didn’t enjoy. The four of us split everything down the middle and walked out paying around $ 40(including tip). First course we ordered the CEVICHEDEGAMBAS– chilled shrimp in a lime juice served in a martini glass. There was probably around 6 pieces of shrimp. Flavoring was good and refreshing. Great starter course. I would also recommend ordering the ESPARRAGOS– fried aspargus and the Garbanzo hummus, but a must I would say the goat cheese dish. Goes great with the bread they serve to the table. The PATATASBRAVAS was also delicious. It is fried potatoes in a spicy aoli like sauce. I loved them. One dish that was unique was the duck with chocolate sauce– PATO A LAPARILLA. The chocolate sauce compliments the meat and the duck is cooked and cut to perfection. Great place to go with a group and you can order most dishes in the small or large portion. Service was great and they were great with the timing of the dishes and clearing old plates.

This was a great find. On a warm day, it was truly inviting. I was able to do patio dining without the exposure to the sun. It was comfortable and relaxing. My waiter was amazing. He was able to recommend to me specialties and he took great care to highlight several best sellers. It was a hot day and lemonade was perfect. He was attentive to keep it refilled for the entire time. He even made me a to-go cup. He checked on me with just the right frequency. The food was very good. I enjoyed the spinach tapas. I ordered a chicken tapas; however, it turned out to be spicy which wasn’t mentioned until after I ordered it. Bread with pesto sauce was a perfect touch to the meal. I very much enjoyed my first day in St. Petersburg and this restaurant really was a great place to start it off.

We stopped in here to grab dinner before seeing Spamalot in the park. It is close to the garage and the park so an ideal location. I had had breakfast here in the past when I stayed at the attached Ponce De Leon so I knew the food was good. When we arrived, most of the outside seating was taken, but we wanted to eat inside in the AC. The bar is really nice with a lot of iron work and wood. Inside tables are tiled. Our server took our drink orders and later was helpful in suggesting some items my «meat and potatoes» husband would enjoy. She also said that we would probably want 3 or 4 plates per person. I ordered the cava sangria grande, it was very good. We ordered a double order of the mixed grilled steak, chicken, sausage and veggies. The skewers are not that big so a double order is perfect for two people to share. Each person gets one skewer or steak/sausage, chicken/sausage and veggies. My husband ordered the meatballs, I ordered a mushroom stuffed with spinach and cheese and we shared some potato chips. Also, before your plates come out, the server brings you fresh bread and pesto. Honestly, that was my favorite thing! All of the food was good, not amazing, but good. One thing we thought was strange was there is no salt and pepper on the table. I could have used some but didn’t bother asking for it. The service was also good. If I came here again for dinner or appetizers, I would probably try some shrimp dishes and some more traditional tapas because I like Mediterranean food.

Stopped in after an early evening visit to the nearby Dali museum. A friend recommended the downstairs bar/live music area. Too early for the music, but we enjoyed a few cold ones after a long day walking around downtown St. Pete and the museum. Tapas are the name of the game here so we will def. be back to sample those. Bar had only a few beer selections– but enough to satisfy. Full bar — and the bar keeps were nice enough to whip up some Shirley Temples for the kids. Will be back!

One of our favorite spots in St Pete. The sangria is perfect, and we love being able to get 3 — 6 different items and splitting them all. Our favorites were the mussels, lamb, and ceviche. Sorry, I don’t remember which specific ones as I know there a few options for the mussels & ceviche — But you can’t go wrong w/any! Great atmosphere and we next time we’ll save enough energy to check out the salsa dancing downstairs!

Pretty darn disappointed in this location. I have previously dined at the location in Hyde Park and found it to be one of my favorite meals in quite a while. That’s exactly what I expected out of the St. Pete location but they failed to execute. For starters there was much confusion about our seating arrangements. We had a party of 5, walked to the hostess stand and were told they didn’t have anything available. A 2nd hostess interrupted stating we were able to dine downstairs but they had a party coming in at 8:30. No worries, we knew we would be done by then. Arriving downstairs it seemed like we were not welcomed and the hostess almost had to convince the servers to let us sit. I can almost understand, being a server myself for many years if a section isn’t open yet it does throw you out of whack to be seated early. Either way, we felt uncomfortable. Service started of slow but he eventually warmed up to us and we enjoyed our meal but it didn’t wow any of us. Some highlights were the house Margarita, the potatoes bravos and the spinach sautéed in honey. Overall a decent meal but I will be returning to the Tampa location before returning here.

OK – not great. I was seduced by the Unilocal 4-star rating by nearly 300 reviewers, and that was a mistake. The danger of this forum is that a lot of folks who don’t have a solid basis for comparison are writing rave reviews, but that is also the beauty of Unilocal — anyone can contribute. That being said, I really should just put faith in my fellow Unilocal Elites — sorry if that sounds ‘elitist’! The ambiance and setting are really cool. The old Spanish style with vintage fixtures and Spanish tile tabletops really sets the mood for tapas. The wines by-the-glass list could use some help, or at least more Spanish wines, and the sangria is a bit too«juicy». Our server was a bit inattentive, and she even recognized this and apologized for it as she delivered our check. I didn’t punish her for it, but didn’t tip in excess either. The food was a solid 3-star ‘OK’ rating. Nothing that made us want to order more, and most of the tapas we ordered had some food left on the plate when we were done. That is not like us! The one dish I was most excited about(4 mushroom types — i forget the name) was a big disappointment. Menu said it would be served with goat cheese, and I was thinking crumbles or a solid piece. No, it was a sauce smothering the mushrooms and crostini on which they were served. Way way way too creamy. Overall, Ceviche is a nice atmosphere but the food value isn’t there. Those who read my reviews know I’m a stickler for value — at whatever the price point. The meal was $ 90 with one glass of wine and one sangria, which is not terrible, but I expected more from the 4-star rating.

This place was a bit expensive, but that was expected. They serve small dishes meant to be shared with others at the table. We ordered about 12 different plates and they all were good and just the right size for the 3 of us to try everything out. We all liked something different the best. The service was slow, as drink refills were rare, and they sat us right next to a very busy door, that was open and closed every 2 minutes, making it a very poor table placement. But based on the food, it was a great place to eat, and I will recommend it.

Anywhere that serves tapas is a plus to me as I’m not a big eater and it gives me a chance to sample different dishes. On this particular night we came right before the Rowdies game and it was super packed! The only table left was on the sidewalk right at the corner. I dont’ like eating on a sidewalk, it just isn’t my thing to have a lot of people constantly walking by me while I’m trying to have wine and dinner with a date. Anyway, we tried the calamares Frito(fried calamari) $ 9.95, the Rabo De Toro(Braised oxtail) 10.95, the Piquillo Rellenos(peppers stuffed with veal & chorizo) $ 9.95, All of it was good but the oxtail was absolutely delicious. They have a nice assortment on their wine list and we chose a nice Malbec around the $ 30 range which went perfect with the dishes and was very good for a wine of that price.(Although I forget the name of it) Im definitely coming back, with a reservation so I can sit inside and enjoy the décor.

Since I have to end my meal on a sweet note, my friend and I walked over to Ceviche by the Ponce De Leon Hotel. This was my first time to this location, I’ve been many times to the one in south Howard. We weren’t greeted when we walked in but that’s ok, we weren’t really in a hurry. We knew what we wanted to get and eagerly ordered their amazing Tres Leches cake. OMG it’s soo freaking good. It’s not layered like most cakes, they serve a block of cake soaked in sweet cream, topped with meringue topping and adorned with strawberries and blueberries. My first bite of cake and meringue was heavenly, melted in my mouth. I would def go back for more. Not cheap($ 9) but it’s HUGE. I’ll definitely be back for more of that Yumminess!
