Flamingo Bar

OK classic dive bar so count Gino in! I can smoke my cigars in here and nobody seems to mind. Truly as mixed a bag of folks in here as you will ever find-​Thai owner of a local restaurant, gold pro from the local country club, blue collar types, young kinds, old geezers, and incredible as it may seem I wind up sitting next to an old girlfriend of 20+ years ago-didn’t even recognize her-​it was the voice that made me figure it out.

Anyway 3-​fer-​$ 5 wells and a shot and a wash special-​and my personal favorite the pickle shot (shot of whiskey with a pickle slice in it and a side of pickle juice-seriously-it’s good!) just run in and give it a try, A serious pool player’s bar as well-​you will find a good game in this bar any given evening. The front table is private-​you need to be a member but you can get in once you prove yourself. Mary the bartender and Dale the owner are great folks-don’t start too much trouble Dale is a Vietnam vet –pay him some respect and play nice and he will always be your pal.

Can’t beat the Kerouac special and Mary is the best bartender ever.

I had met with Friends there on a Monday night for a quieter place to talk. Boy was I wrong. It had a sorta mad men vibe that was very clean. Very busy. Friendly service and at great prices. Loved it

What a dive! And I mean that in the best way a smokers paradise with pool tables and surprisingly, Stella served in a proper glass
Strange mix of people from bar flies obviously sending their welfare checks to decent neighborhood people… eclectic yes… clean no.
Come here after a few drinks. maybe you’ll appreciate it more.

Super smokey joint serving billiard playing locals. One of the few dive bars that hasn’t been completely co-​opted by recreational drinkers, hipsters, or college students. Cheap drinks, cheap drafts, and cheap pool. Expect a raised eyebrow or two if you are not a regular, but no real fuss. Prepare for a massive and prolonged dose of cigarette smoke, so plan to get completely hammered to cope with it. Right across the street is the Dairy Inn… convenient for a quick drunken meal if you are staying for the long haul.
