This place used to be so great. They are down the street from where I work and I liked to order from here for delivery with a couple co-workers evrry now and again. Everyone agreed our oders today were disappointing. Veggie sub was tasteless and was on dry stale sub bread. I ordered onion rings but they brought fries instead. The chicken strips are smaller than they used to be. Paid $ 10.00(including a $ 2 tip) for a very small order of chicken strips and fries. Poor value. Dont think we will be ordering from here again.

This is a solid lunch spot if you work in the area. The sandwhiches are a little under $ 7 each. I think that the fries are nothing special. A lot of people would compare this place to big stein’s deli, because of prices and they both sell triple decker sandwhiches. Although you do get a bigger sandwhich at steins, the sandwhich’s here are just as filling and will not crumble to pieces from its size. Also, they offer toasted bread. Solid lunch place. get the triple decker number 1, or 3. Also, try the cajun sandwhich. Onion rings are worth a shot.

Their pastrami sandwich was killer. My second visit I had a special, which was a cold turkey sandwich with coleslaw and it was terrible. Gave it one more chance and had a meatball sub special and now I’m suffering from food poisoning. NEVERGOINGBACKHERE!

I had not been here in years and today I was not disappointed. The Reuben was very tasty. The place is small but extremely clean. The people are super friendly and the service is quick. I will be back. Thank you!

Driven by this place for years and finally chose to eat there today. I was very impressed with what I found. Fast service, a cheap lunch special($ 6 for a large Italian Sub and a soda) and the sandwich was amazing. Will be stopping by here for lunch more often.

A cool little place, with great sandwiches! Personally, I love the«Cajun Bleu» chicken and get it every time I’m here!

I was scared to try this. I didnt know if it was oriental food or what some odd mix of cultures put into one restraunt. Who knows? Anyways I broke down and bought it after the suggestion of MANY co-workers. I got chicken tenders, with the utmost skepticism in my mind. I was blown away by the quality. The tenders melted in my mouth, they had origional taste and flavor and were the best I have had since the old days of chillis chicken fingers with beer batter. Came with house Honey Mustard and ketchup. I saw a gigantic burger being served. Make sure if ordering for lunch you order AHEADOFTIME, its so good that its very busy.

This place has been around since I was a kid, so they must be doing something right! Excellent meats, generous portions, and great value for the money. I’m afraid I can’t give a full 5 stars due to their hours. This is mostly a lunch place. The close at 3:30pm M-Fr, and at 2:30pm on Sat. A great sandwich joint if you find yourself in the area at the right time!

Tried Sangwich Block for the first time this past week. it’s maybe 5 minutes from home and I am always looking for a new sandwich place, and with the reviews this place got, it had to be checked out. I’m going with 4 stars because it was good and it was fresh and it was very fast, but I’m not so sure it was more than a 3.5 star sandwich. I got one of their triple decker sandwiches — a club on marble rye with ham, turkey, cheese, some kind of sauce and veggies. It was good, but it was also the kind of sandwich I could make at home. I think the mistake I made was not going with a Cuban sandwich, which is generally my go-to in a new sandwich place, especially in Florida, or a chicken parm sandwich, which is also a favorite of mine. I was lured by the idea of the triple decker sandwich. The devil knows the way to my soul. As I said, it was super fast. I ordered, then checked in, and didn’t even have time to make my 100th check of my email and facebook for the day before it was done. It is also pretty inexpensive for the size of the sandwich you can get. Can’t go wrong. Certainly better than any sandwich chain you can go to, and more options than a Publix. Worth your time.

Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you, this place has awesome food. I usually get the turkey Ruben and have yet to be disappointed. Leo and military friendly too

We’ve been getting sandwiches here for over two years now and they are right up there with that other deli on 4th St.(rhymes with«big signs») for best sandwiches in St. Petersburg. I was reading the reviews on Urban Spoon and I’m not sure who pissed in the Cheerios of the people who left bad reviews there, because I have *never* had a bad sandwich or bad service or grumpy staff. Their sandwiches have generous amounts of meat, their bread is top-notch(hard to find down here in FL), and they do a very brisk business at lunchtime so call your order in ahead of time and make sure to ask what the special is that day. Today’s was a hot sausage sub with onions, peppers, and provolone, which my husband pronounced«mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm». I had my usual Ruben because it’s the hottest, meatiest, messiest Ruben around and my all-time favorite. Oh, and did I mention they were cheap? Hubby and I can split a sub and be quite satisfied for under $ 8. They do deliver, but only to local offices/businesses. No home delivery. Luckily I live less than a mile away. Pro tip: If you’re southbound from Roosevelt or Gandy, you can’t turn left from MLK into 93rd St. so to avoid going down MLK and making a u-turn, take 4th St. to 93rd instead, make a left turn, and go to the end of the street.

I was first introduced to Sangwich Block when I interned for Dave Wirth at Channel 10 by a videographer who swore by their«Sangwiches» like it was a religion. That was… um…let’s just say quite a few years back.(Sorry Dave, you have been at Channel 10 a long time) So today when I was driving through that area around lunchtime, I thought I would swing by and see if it was still there. Sure enough. It is still there and looks almost exactly as the first time I walked in the place in 1989… oops, I mean a few years back. So many good choices on the menu: Cold, hot, pitas, wraps, burgers, cubans, salads. As a Sangwich veteran, I knew the«Awful Triple Decker #3» was the right call. Turkey, bacon, swiss, provolone, cole slaw, lettuce, tomato and the special dressing on my choice(Pumpernickel) of one of FIVE quality sliced breads. In literally 2 – 3 minutes, I had my freshly made and delicious«Awful» and was awfully happy to know this place was still around taking care of the hungry lunch crowd in North St. Pete.

This place is a hidden gem. I always get the roast beef grilled on marbled rye and it is the best sandwich in st. Pete! Always fresh and the staff is very friendly. This is one of the few sandwich shops where you can get fries instead of chips and they are very good.(More like potato wedges than fries)

Great little hole int he wall sandwich shop. Would definitely recommend coming here for a quick lunch if your in the area. I have been here a few times and always end up getting the same things. I go with the Cajun Blue. Which is essentially a blackened chicken breast with ham and Swiss on a onion bun. The potato salad isn’t bad either. Thumbs up!

Good stop for a quick bite or take out. Sandwiches are on regular type bread which you don’t find in many places these days. My favorite is #2 turkey specialty sandwich which is turkey, Swiss cheese, cole slaw and special sauce on pumpernickel.

Super duper divey, but just so good. A burger is not really a burger unless you can hear your heart begging for mercy as you as eat it. Sandwich Block will give you just that. My one complaint is, as a lady, if I’m the ONLY person in your restaurant(which I normally am), are you really so lazy that you can’t walk my burger to me instead of making me come to the counter when it’s ready?
