I expected a diner, there was NOMILKSHAKES! Fries were old tasting, chicken fingers were soooo greasy it was disgusting. They did have good fried pickles but thats it. Oh yes and there was a 3″-5″ hole/gap in my seat! I could see metal, it should definitely change its name, because I was excited to go to a Route 66 Diner, but this was a huge disappointment.

This was our first visit and I’m not sure if we will return. There were some major bright spots and some major misses. The service was very good. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. I ordered the meatloaf dinner, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. The meatloaf was excellent but it was smothered in a weird brown gravy that was awful. It reminded me of something you would get in a hospital. I had to scrape it off to enjoy the meatloaf. The mashed potatoes were instant and also covered in the same gravy. The potatoes had big chunks of rubbery stuff in it which the waitress said was from sitting in the pan for too long. They said they were heating fresh potatoes but they came out cold and just did not taste good. I find it sad so much effort was placed into such a good meatloaf but ruined the experience with instant mashed potatoes and a bad gravy. My husband ordered chicken tenders, fries, corn, and a biscuit. Half of the tenders were dried out from overcooking. After years of chow hall food, he was planning on eating them anyway, but the waitress noticed and brought him new tenders. The fries were hand cut and tasty, the biscuit was excellent. We split a slice of chocolate cake for dessert. It had a wonderful flavor but had been stored in the cooler, already cut, so it was a dried out, crumbly mess. Disappointing.

Over priced for a fast food quality food. My mother ordered soup with her sandwich. She got reheated Campbell’s soup. Meh. Won’t be back with those prices.

Stopped here while passing through with my family and the food was delicious! I highly recommend their fried pickles and the Blue Moon burger. The service and prices were good too, and we loved the décor!

My mother and I traveled all the way from California to see my brother graduate at Fort Leonard Wood. I saw this diner on Unilocal and decided to try it out. Boy, did I feel like I was home. Love the way the place brings you back to the time as well. We had a great server who was attentive and great food.

This place deserves more props for their breakfast and friendly staff. It’s the only place in the area that I have found a decent southwestern breakfast with a good tortilla. I’m also not a huge pancake fan and I LOVE their pancakes. I prefer this place to Cracker Barrel any day. Fast service, great breakfast.

The Route 66 Diner was pretty good. We stopped in here after a ceremony at Fort Leonard Wood. It definitely has the nostalgic diner feel. Jukebox, black-and-white checker floor, bright chrome finish on the outside. And they serve breakfast all day! There were 11 of us and I think we overwhelmed the waitress, who appeared to be the only one on duty at the time(2:00PM), which probably added to her frustration. The food came to the table fairly quickly after ordering and was pretty good. Fries were homemade. I had the Philly Steak, which was a little dry, but some extra cheese would have fixed the problem. Most everyone had large portions for a good price. Even the kids items had more than I expected. Decent restaurant for the area if you want to skip the chain restaurants.

I saw the reviews and had to try this place. My family and i love the way the diner is set up. Very vintage. We ordered and the food came out pretty quick. We all ordered the chicken fried steak, came with eggs, potatoes or hash browns, and toast or biscuit. The food was surprisingly delicious. The portions are huge! The biscuit is to die for!!! It’s so buttery and fluffy. To top it off we ordered pumpkin cheesecake, original cheesecake, and apple pie for dessert. We are very satisfied. The prices are very reasonable.

St. Roberts, Missouri — «Route 66 Diner» has great atmosphere and even better service … … the food was blah(bacon not crisp, hash browns not«brown’d» enough to heat completely, & toast was not even hot enough to melt warm butter) messin’ up a hot breakfast takes a bit of an effort, in my opinion … I still personally recommend this nostalgic«diner» eating experience «Run-A-Way Bill» was here! 09÷20÷15

We tried it after Cracker Barrel next door was soooo slow & didn’t get our order correct. I Love this diner! Service is fantastic and quick! The order came out just as we ordered! Food is tasty & you get A LOT for your money! More people should be stopping here instead of Cracker Barrel.

Good food, good country feel to the place. Replicates the«old school» diner. Friendly staff and generous portions for the price. Service is fast as well.

This was a super pleasant surprise! We came off the road, riding Route 66 from Chicago to LA. Walked into a Waffle House a little ways away but still weren’t seated after 5 minutes. I remembered seeing this diner right off the highway so we headed back there. Wow, what a great place! Very friendly employees, tasty, reasonably-priced food and a clean, fun environment. The coffee was good and the breakfast portions large. I truly enjoyed this place and would absolutely recommend it. Bonus: They cater to military and there were a few service members enjoying breakfast at the time.

So we’ve been back 2x now for dinner and our service was really quick, unlike the first time we went for dinner. I always enjoy my reuben, and my husband loves the BLTs. We’ve had the cookies’n’cream shake and chocolate shake and really like both. I’ll try the malt next.

Nothing like eating at an old Rt 66 diner. Not many of these places left on the route. I had a bbq burger and it looks and tastes so good. Old music playing in the background can’t be beat. I highly recommend it and will stop in again on my next road trip.

Skip Waffle House and go straight here. More food for the money and great atmosphere. Exceptional food quality and great coffee. We traveled to the area for Army graduation and this is the best local joint so far. Great job!

Food was great, fresh and hot. I had the guacamole burger, husband had chicken fried steak. His was good but he had food envy! Burgers are made fresh and the fries are good, but was told they are going to a new menu and home made fries! Shakes are good too! We’ll come back. PS clean place and restrooms travelers!

Just OK. We dropped in for lunch because it was close to hotel. Basic diner menu and décor of. 1950’s diner. Prices were NOT1950’s so u should expect to drop about $ 15 per person including tip. I ordered a Reuben(sort of my standard«go to» sandwich) and it was just OK. Service was fast and average. We did have a great conversation with a group of Australians who were on a Route 66 bus tour from Chicago to LA, but I wouldn’t expect they will still be there when I read this. I’d like to go 2 Stars here but can’t really say anything bad. Probably you are better off going to Cracker Barrel right next door. Same price better food.
