We love it here. Wine for the ladies. Beer for the men or vise versa. So much variety. Wines and beers for everyone. This place is easily becoming a place fit for the younger crowd and not just the older. We recommend the tasting on both the wine and the beer side. It comes with a free pint or wine glass. We love it and the owners are so nice. This is a family friendly establishment too. Kids with you? No problem they have snacks and coloring books for the kids while you enjoy your wine or beer.

Beer temperature must be about 52 degrees. I asked the owner if I could get some ice and was told No. Owner?/manager was loud on phone talking to her 11yr old and 15yr old and called them«F#ckin’ Reta&ds» and continued screaming. The owner/manager took 3 calls in five minutes. She then told her table about how crappy they are. Wow. If I was the owner of this place I would have asked her to leave but instead I did. Looks nice through the window but I’d rather drive to Temple. If you are going to visit this place you better hurry because they will be closed in less than 6 months and wondering what went wrong. TERRIBLE!!!

Prices are ridiculous! 7 bucks for a pint. No thanks! My wife got a glass of wine. .10 bucks! We were 2 of 7 people there, I see why. Choices were nice but a little steep on the price.

We went here for our 1 year anniversary and had a pleasant afternoon. The music that was playing was great because it was something other than country. We had a female as our bar tender. She said how she was new to the job, but you could not tell at all. Dee and I both got two flights each so we ended up with four free pint glasses. The only reason why we aren’t giving it five stars is because they do not serve any kind of food. We ended up going across the street to McCain’s and then brought food over to Chupacabra. It was nice that the bartender let us eat our food as we sipped on our beer. The fact that they don’t sell the food, but allow you to bring in food from other places to eat is pretty cool.

This place is really cool. It’s not a brewery. It’s a bar specializing in craft beers with LOTS of beer on tap! A flight is a great deal and comes with a Chupacabra pint glass. Free popcorn is served. There’s a great variety of beer on tap. Growlers are available for purchase. I would have rated this 5 stars but the bartender when we were there was very unfriendly. There was no one else in there at the time and she seemed very put out to have to serve us.

Yay! This a nice little addition to the Salado strip. It’s rather small, but attached to a store so people can move around. There is free popcorn, but no butter. You may think that that yellow shaker on top of the machine is butter flavoring, but I’m here to tell you that I sacrificed my tastebuds for you… and it is salt. It is a strong salt that could not be scrubbed away by the carbonation bubbles of beer. Looks like butter, not butter. Don’t be fooled! I even tried eating the popcorn that had been lightly butter-looking-salted… Nope. Don’t do it. I liked the variety of beers here and tried a flight. Really, my allergies were driving me nuts when I went + super-salt popcorn made it a little difficult for me to enjoy, but my parents frequent this place and their thoughts are the reason for my rating. They come here with their neighbors, order food from the pizza place or The Shed, and chat-up people visiting the area. Flight comes with a pint glass. I drank from my oh-so-attractive growling Chupacabra glass last night. «Rarr! Drink more water before bed! And first thing in the morning! Grrr!»

Very cool addition to Salado and well worth the drive and a bit of exploration to find it. Great beer selection, small place friendly atmosphere, good folks and don’t be surprised if you strike up a conversation with the owners. Will definitely be back and will start making it a mandatory stop on the way going to/coming back from Austin!

Great local business with 40 local texas beers on draft. Really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive and definitely enjoyed talking about beer. Best beer place I have found in the area.

Friendly bartenders, around 30(maybe more?) Texas beers on tap, a wine room next door, complimentary POPCORN!!! So much WIN. Also, there are pint nights every other week(on Mondays during football season) with representatives from the featured brewery, and they often serve complimentary food! Lots of seating in the wine room and outside, only wish there was more room for seating in the beer area. Their excellent beer selection and customer service keeps me coming back!

This is a great local place to hang out and relax with friends. My only complaint is that beer prices are $ 1-$ 2 higher than one would expect to pay. I understand the lack of customer traffic volume is the likely cause for higher prices, but for those of us who need a «deal» to help us get out more often, maybe a daily brew special or a happy hour(early and/or late) would draw in more customers and offset the lower prices.(Just sayin… :)

Ahhh what a GREAT addition to Salado! For those that aren’t huge into wine such as myself, this was the perfect compliment for the winery. The owners Rachel and John are awesome! They also own the winery which is connected. They have so many good craft beers on tap, and they rotate often. John and Rachel are so friendly and make this such a great establishment to go and have a drink after a long day. Complimentary popcorn for those who need something to snack on, and if you really want a bite to eat, you can order from The Shed and they’ll deliver it! This is a must visit if you’re in town and want a nice cold one.
