In town for a meeting and stopped on a friends recommendation and so glad that I did. WOW pastrami with hot mustard was awesome.

Went in to try the fried clams on a recommendation from a local. $ 33 later for a large box and not one of them had a stomach. I’ve had better clams at the Weathervane and at my local pizza joint.

Seriously, learn how to wrap up a sub in paper the right way. Not too happy that my sub was at the bottom of my bag by the time i got home. And its not the first time its happen. Absurd. If you cant fiure out how a sub should be wrapped dont worry, its easy, go to ANY other sub shop, order a sub, bring it home, reverse engineer. On the lazy sub wrap alone i give a single star.

Skimpy portions and high prices. Go to londis in Salem for roast beef at least you’ll get your money’s worth there. Kings is way to greedy with their puny subs and sandwiches. And the food is just ok, not great. Plus the employees there are total jack ass’s.

WHOA! We came, we saw, we Super Beefed! This place is the real deal. The sandwich… it was unbelievable and perfectly juicy and topped with just the right condiments. The onion rings were also top notch… maybe some of the best I’ve ever had. The portions are enormous; you get your money’s worth for sure. I can’t wait to visit again when I find myself in Salem!

I am constantly hearing people talk about how great this place is and have wondered if they are out of it or if my standards are too high but I don’t care for it at all. The atmosphere is non existent, you’re rushed through like a number, not a valuable money paying customer and the food is only ok, nothing rave worthy by any means.

Truly some of the best fried seafood I’ve ever had. Fried clams and scallops are my go to favorites. The fried haddock sandwich is really good too and huge. They simply do it right, from the lightly seasoned coating to the quality of seafood. The generous portions are an added bonus. Always have leftovers. I’ve been here more times than I care to admit. I’ve been to many seafood shacks/restaurants on the North and South Shore and beyond(including some of the well-known staples), but Kings is by far my favorite. Prices are very reasonable, you get more bang for your money than most seafood joints. Space is a limited with only 3 – 4 tables. They do a lot of take-out business. Service is adequate. Just go for the fried seafood and you’ll be happy. Oh and the roast beef is not bad either.

I see a lot of comments that the staff here is unfriendly, but honestly I kind of like it. When I go to a place for a 3-way super beef I don’t expect to get treated like a princess. The cashier yells your order to the cook in the back and tells you to take a seat so other people can order. It suits the place. As for the food, it’s pretty damn good. Great roast beef, maybe a little bit too much sauce(but who can complain about that, better than the other way around). HUGE, tasty cheesesteaks. Great chicken fingahs too. Maybe a little bit expensive for what it is, but the food is pretty killer. Been here many times, recommend it highly.

It took an hour and 20 minutes to make and deliver my order,(they never quoted me a time and when I called the guy told me that it was on its way they are very busy(it’s a Wednesday night) — okay.) if you are that busy you should quote a delivery time /estimation. Some people don’t have that much time to wait for dinner — and after reading some other reviews I can see this is a pattern. As far as the food: I ordered a combo seafood plate and it was as expected of a seafood platter, but nothing more. Coleslaw was not that great. I didn’t get the extra side of tartar sauce or cocktail sauce I asked for and the price ended up being a surprise because they never quoted me one on the phone… or and ETA. On the plus side, the portion side was substantial. Sadly that wasn’t enough of a reason to convince me to order from them again.

I live up the street and stopped coming due to rude service. My sister and i liked some of the food but the service and high prices turned us off enough to no longer give them our buisness. smile gentlemen.

Ignore the fact the staff is unfriendly, agreed they are so busy that they do not have time for small talk! THINKABOUTIT? When the line is out the door and you are in the back of the line and have only 30 minutes for lunch, you would prefer they get the orders out not chat with the tourist! Kings is worth the wait just be ready to order before you get to the counter and all is well.

I grew up in North Beverly, so you probably know where I went for Roast Beef most of my life. I’d recently heard that the best Roast Beef was at Kings, so I decided to take that challenge. I went to the other place first and loved it. Then I went to Kings… and boy was I let down… because they unseated my mainstay as the BESTROASTBEEFINTHEAREA. Plenty of parking. TONS of options. Enormous portions. No nickle and diming over every little thing. THEYTAKECREDITCARDS(looking towards North Beverly). It gets busy and packed up. Call ahead for pickup. Not a lot of places to eat inside(maybe 3 – 4 small tables) Sad to say, Kings has unseated the institution that I grew up with.

Long story short: my husband wanted a lobster roll& I wanted a salad with lobster. My son is 2, my husband and I didn’t feel like cooking. It was getting late. We ordered the mentioned above& the guy over the phone said it would be about an hour(, cool with us.) We waited the hour+ half. my husband called to see where out food was& they didn’t even make it yet! My husband called back(after the hour and a half that we waited.) and canceled our order & the guy that canceled it gave my husband a hard time, saying” ya made me miss out on some lobster.” Well– I’m not going to not feed my kid at his bedtimebbecause you are ½, hour late with our food not even made. The guy said” sorry, were really busy. « they were just real assholes about them being late with our food. Never again.

I used to go to Kings several times a week when I lived nearby. I was never disappointed with anything I ever got there. The roast beef was always good, and they actually put a decent amount of sauce on them which some places don’t. I think my favorite item at Kings is the chicken fingers. They are without a doubt the best anywhere. The breading is crispy and buttery and they give you a very good portion. The staff is usually super busy so they’re sometimes a bit short with you but you’re there to order food, not make a new best friend.
