Unfortunately this place got me sick twice. They have great Caesar salad. One time had it with chicken and was sick but couldn’t be sure it was from that. Got it again last week and got very sick. Not sure if it’s the chicken or dressing, but something wasn’t right.

Stumbled upon this deli last week and I can’t say enough about how delicious the tuna sub was and how friendly the staff was. New lunch spot for sure.

I have purchased the marinated meats, sandwiches, prepared salads and meals. Everything I have tried was great and I will stop by every time I am in the Salem area. The Thanksgiving turkey wrap was incredible, as the wrap was toasted and it was perfect. So glad you are there, as I was so disappointed when the store nearby closed and glad to have you in the area.

Really delicious breakfast place! the prices are just right and the waiting time for the food whether its delivery or not is exceptional. I have never really ordered lunch or dinner from here.

I get lunch takeout frequently enough to say that Michael’s has great food. Their salads are always made with fresh vegetables, and they offer seasonal ones with fruits and veggies that are in season too. I like that I can get two meals out of one salad(or pasta dish for that matter), with the added pita bread on the side and large portion. It makes their seemingly higher prices really quite regular. Sandwiches are customizable, and they aren’t packed with so much food that you can’t bite into it(I hate oversized sandwiches!). Though these aren’t my top pick because the bread isn’t always the freshest, they are satisfying. Their pasta dishes are pretty good too. I wouldn’t compare it to a top notch italian style pasta dish, but they are above average and packed to the brim. I recommend their lasagna and ziti with chicken parm. I must warn you — their cookies are delicious to the point where you need to exercise some self control. ;) Great lunch place with a good amount of variety to make this a regular place to eat on a weekly(or daily) basis.

Have tried this place on 2 occasions and the second one will be the last. My first trip was just for a sandwich. I grabbed a Muffaletta and it was okay. I don’t know when a Muffaletta became any coldcuts that an olive salad mix is placed on, because really a Muffaletta sandwich is all about the bread and the bread was meh. Second time was a dinner order. My wife was craving chicken pot pie, which was okay. The main problem was with my baked stuffed chicken. The first few bites were good enough, but when I reached the middle I discovered that the chicken was raw. I threw it out and had a dinner that consisted of mediocre rice pilaf and overcooked steamed veggies. If you are looking for a raging case of salmonella poisoning, this is your place. If you cannot properly bake a chicken and follow basic food safety rules, you should probably not be cooking anything.

My boyfriend & I decided to give this place a whirl for lunch at his work, & I have to say, I’ve had better. We both ordered the steak tip dinners, & both ordered garlic mashed potatoes. Since we had never ordered from there before, he inquired to how large the portions were, & he was told, «It’s a pretty good size.» Upon arrival, I was disappointed by the«good sized» portions. 5 pieces of steak, & my garlic mashed potatoes were bland & dry red bliss potatoes. The steak tips themselves were gristly, & fairly bland themselves. The garlic bread that we ordered with it? Horrible. It tasted like someone spilled too much garlic powder, & I nearly spit it out. I’m a nut for garlic, but that was just overkill. Overall, the most disappointing thing is the portion size. Some people might figure, «What do you expect for $ 14?» I’ve seen plenty of places that for $ 13 or less offer way more food that is more flavorful & isn’t dried out. $ 14 later(plus tip, delivery, taxes, etc.), & I was still hungry. Might I add that I noticed this place shows no delivery on this page, so I’m not sure if delivery is something new or not. But they do deliver now. I suppose it works in a pinch, but for the price paid, I wasn’t impressed with the value.

I own a DJ Company and had a wedding scheduled on the very Saturday that Hurricane Irene hit the North East. The bride called me in a full panic because the location that she had booked for the reception went back on their word and closed 3 hours before she was to be married. I called Michael at home and asked if he could get enough food cooked and delivered for 80+ people to the church basement(the last minute back up plan) in less than 3 hours? Michael’s Market has never said no to me or anyone that I have ever sent to them. Not only did they deliver the food, they did not charge extra for the emergency and last minute delivery, and they stuck around to help with the clean up. I wish that Unilocal had more than 5 stars because I would like to double it!

LOVE this place! I get lunch here at least once a week, sometimes more, because it’s literally 1min from my office! I always call ahead to place my order, leave my office, and when i arrive less than 5mins later my mandarin salad with grilled chicken is always waiting! The ingrediants are always nice and fresh and the staff is always super friendly!!!

Michael’s Market is a little gourmet deli and catering company tucked in the corner of a little strip plaza, just west of Exit 2, open Monday-Friday(6:30AM-2:00PM). It’s a good place to stop for a quick freshly prepared takeout breakfast or lunch, especially for those who work in this area. The menu offers breakfast items(sandwiches, muffins, pastries, fruit cups), salads, self serve cold salads, soups, deli style sandwiches, pasta, homestyle dishes, bagged chips, dessert case, kid’s menu, Seattle’s Best Coffee, and cold drinks. They also have ready to heat meals and offer full service catering. I stopped in here around 8:45AM and I ordered a regular sandwich for my lunch later on!!! I got a Muffaletta Sandwich($ 5.95 plus tax) which had salami, capicola, provolone, with marinated vegetables, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, olive oil & small fresh mozzarella balls on a crusty baguette roll(8″). It was a great tasting sandwich with quality ingredients! I would be here often if they were located near my office, which is 20 miles away.
