On my trip to Salem, Oregon. I herd from word of mouth from my co workers that this was the to go spot for suchi. I was a little hesitant since, good suchi is found in California. I went after work, and I tell you that I was not disappointed. The service was spectacular, the young girl who attended me was very polite, pretty and helpful. The suchi was amazing, specially the eel, but what I love the most was my crêpe dessert.

Lets be honest, I’ve only ever gone for the after 9 pm happy hour. Half off a roll per drink is an amazing deal. I’ve never been disappointed in the sushi. High quality, quickly made, and inventive. One of my favorite late night haunts. Don’t be scared by the outside of the restaurant, the inside does not have a spectacular ambiance but the food is so worth it!

The inside is pretty quaint and small and the outside may look unseemly, but the food is great! Service was also very friendly and attentive. I always get the chirashi sushi when I try a new sushi restaurant to determine the quality of the fish. The fish was very fresh and flavorful. Will definitely come back.

The food is excellent. My son and I enjoy their fresh and creative rolls. But the biggest reason to come here is for the service. They are very attentive and helpful. They are staffed well for the amount of business on a Saturday night and service was quick and accurate. Don’t be fooled by the exterior; this is a great sushi bar. Best in the area.

I ALMOST didn’t walk in when I saw the convenience store connected to the front. I’m a little sheltered I guess lol but I’m sooo glad that I did! SOOO good! Best Miso soup I’ve ever had, awesome waitress(Miranda), amazing Chirashi and the absolute BESTMUSICIVEEVERHEARDIN A RESTAURANT!!! An absolute must when you’re in Salem!

Excellent sushi. I am definitely a salmon fan and I feel it’s safe to say I’ve had all of their salmon items. No complaints. I’ve dined in and ordered delivery and had great service every time.

Hidden gem, out-of-sight tucked back hole-in-the-wall, tiny dive bar converted into a sushi restaurant with excellent sushi. Great food in Salem doesn’t happen every day, so give this place a try next time you want some great sushi! You don’t have to drive all the way to Portland any more! Oh, and btw, their hours are GREAT! Open till MIDNIGHT! How many times have you been starving in Salem after 9 or 10pm and had to resign and drive through Jack-in-the-Box?(no offense to Jack, I love you, man!).

We love the sushi here, especially for the price at lunch. The lunch deal is good, and we liked the eel unagi, philly roll, and rocky salmon roll– all are tasty, with quality ingredients. The downside is the service is spotty– last time we didn’t get soy Sauce or anything, and our to-go order missed a roll(we weren’t charged for it– we didn’t realize until after). If you confirm your orders right and double check on sauce, chopsticks, etc and can wait on slower service, the sushi’s worth it.

The sushi can be made any way you want, to include with cooked fish, or the veggie rolls if you’re not a fish liker. Neat atmosphere and the staff are very helpful!

Best ever in Salem! I had a Japanese food in some other restaurants before and all of them were horrible. Yet, this restaurant was extremely different. I ordered Chicken Katsu and it was so tasty(taste like Japanese). I love everything on my dish include the miso soup. Definitely recommend.

It’s borderline hole in the wall and very good. They use sushi rice, fresh seafood and it’s rolled well. We had sushi and the eel with rice. The green tea is very good and comes in a heavy pot. The service is quick. The floor could be cleaner.

No. No. No. Never again. I got a delivery of the Wasabi Shrimp Roll and Summer Time Roll. Gross. Both. The shrimp rolls STILLHADTHETAILSONTHEM. WHYWOULDYOUNOTTAKETHETAILSOFF?! The wasabi was weak on them, too. The Summer Time roll was weird and an odd temperature and just ugh… not good. The lady I ordered from even suggested the Summer Time roll. Mistake. Miso soup was good. Cucumber salad was salty and meh. So disappointed. I eat sushi and sashimi a lot. I will never order from this place again. Steer clear.

When we first got there we both looked at each other and had mixed feelings. On the outside it looks like a divey trucker stop dinner with a fluorescent sushi. «Good luck» we said to each other. Once inside we saw a sushi bar and a small dining area. The restaurant is pretty small and cramped but it adds to a cool Izakaya divey feel. No complaints from me. There are a ton of sushi options to be had. Pages of rolls and pictures and descriptions of each. A good selection of nigiri as well. We had some salmon and had instant approval from my girlfriend who is usually picky about her fish. All in all the sushi was quite good and it was also happy hour! We decided to try out a crêpe to finish off the meal but were unimpressed. We got the«green» crêpe which had avocado, green tea, kiwi, and custard. The crêpe itself was meh. The filling nothing to be excited about. We also noticed there didn’t seem to be any custard. Don’t let its looks scare you. This place has some decent sushi. The crepes seemed like an after thought but I’m glad we gave this place a shot.
