Came in for a late lunch on a Saturday. Between 3−5pm they serve brunch appetizers only. We had shrimp and grits, a Caesar salad, butternut squash soup and cheesy fritters. The shrimp and grits(topped with crispy pancetta) are worth a repeat for sure. I’d avoid the fritters. Good for an adult beverage and some tastings with a small group.

Pretty bad service, and not the greatest food. We were seated in the side room as a party of 4, and the table was tiny… it was pretty much a table for 2 turned sideways. When we asked our waitress about items on the menu, she didn’t give us any input or feedback, and didn’t even appear to really know some of the items, but pretended to. My husband started with the Shrimp and Haddock Bisque($ 9), which upon trying it, didn’t have much flavor and was very watery. There was barely any fish or shrimp in the soup, and it was not served with bread or crackers. We couldn’t even finish it because of the lack of flavor. I ordered the Field Greens Salad for dinner, and added a chicken breast to it($ 12). I had ordered it with dressing on the side, and it was brought to me drenched in dressing. I clarified with the server and got attitude about getting my salad remade the way I ordered it. She did take it back, and brought me a fresh salad, although the chicken was from the previous salad as it was covered in dressing from being on the previous salad. The salad the second time around was skimpy, not much lettuce. I only found a few dried cranberries and not much orange. Walnuts and goat cheese were on the salad in the amount I would expect. The salad was good and the dressing was tasty, but I was disappointed in the size. If the salad is going to be that size, it should be served in a bowl appropriate for its size. My husband ordered the Korean style duck wings($ 9) to be served as his meal as he wasn’t too hungry. He enjoyed the wings and said they were nicely crispy and flavorful. Our friends ordered the Braised Beef Short Ribs and Steak Tips and really enjoyed their meals(reason why I am rating 2 stars and not 1… bc some of the food was good). It was pretty crowded for a Saturday night and I’ve seen other good reviews so I was disappointed we had such an awful experience.

We stopped in yesterday for the first time, and I’m glad we did. The waitress was on point(wish I got her name). We ordered the fritters as an appetizer, and they were absolutely amazing. I got the burger, and it was actually cooked as I asked. My boyfriend got the fish and chips, which he is normally picky about, but loved it. They also had an awesome selection of drinks on tap. We will defiantly be back in the future.

Really cute place in Salem. Bartender was so friendly, and really knew her stuff. So was the rest of the staff, our server was extremely attentive. We had the butternut squash soup, and I split a burger with a friend. Everything was very enjoyable, if you’re in the area I highly recommend checking the place out!

Stopped in for a beer. This place used to be called The Old Spot. It looks and feels completely unchanged, right down to the curtain that’s right inside the doorway. Our waitress was friendly and the draught beer list good and different. It’s just nothing special and there are plenty of other great bars in the area.

Food-lovers: do not let the informality of the setting fool you. There is a skilled and talented kitchen at work here. Excellent food, and a fine ale/beer/cider list: a real gastropub, definitely several cuts above what I’d expect a pub or bar to put on offer. We had the Korean duck wings; the hamburger; and the fish and chips, and recommend them all. Even an addition to the burger — caramelized onions — was very nicely prepared. And update: great at not just the grill-style favorites either: the lobster/scallop pasta was excellent(far better than many more expensive restaurants I’ve been to). The flat-iron steak was cooked as ordered, and nicely accompanied with swiss chard, and choice of potato.(Again, better than I’ve had elsewhere, and less expensive) We had to make a train, and couldn’t have dessert but the selection sounded great(flourless chocolate cake with ginger cream, etc). Exceptionally well put-together menu. Friendly server, and a bonus was the UK indie music in background.

Great little spot, and we’re glad to see them doing well. The beer list is good, and the food is fantastic. Kieran is a lovely guy and we wish him the best, and know he will do well. We don’t go as often as we’d like because we try to bring our dog places as much as we can. In the fall and winter we will hit it up much more often though. The food really is very good, high end, rather than bar food — so if you’re looking for cheap apps and fries this is not the place for you. Lovely cozy environment and friendly staff, we will be back plenty of times!

This is not your ordinary pub food! Stumbled across this place while visiting Salem, and was so very happy to find that the menu options included a super delicious quinoa dish with roasted fresh veggies and incredible lightly roasted kale. It was so good! Would definitely cone back. Also loved the lentil soup, it was delicious.

Great place! The atmosphere is stellar. The owner very very friendly. The food was fabulous. I think the best Lobster ravioli I have had. The only reason not 5, I wish the menu was bigger. But that will not stop us from going back again & again.

Had lunch there today and it was fabulous the marinated chicken sandwich was Devine and the decore was like being in an old Irish pub. The bartender Sara was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning here.

Had an absolutely delicious lunch here today. The Korean Duck Wings are ethereal. Great burger and fries as well. Also want to mention that our server/bartender was super friendly and helpful and the draft beer list is pretty varied.

A bunch of coworkers and I went for the Olde Main Street Pub dinner and drinks after work on a Monday night. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and got our drinks out quickly. We ordered the gouda & goat cheese fritters and the fried lollipop kale for appetizers and even the people who insisted they hated kale soon decided that we should order more for the table. I ordered the haddock, which was fresh and fllakey and came with hand-cut fries and pickled string beans. My boyfriend ordered the burger, which he said was delicious and cooked perfectly. Everyone raved about the food, drinks(perfect Guinness pour!), and the service. We will definitely be back soon!

Hands down best pint of Guinness in Salem and possibly the North Shore. I’ve eaten there twice now and both times, I was surprised at how good the food was. First time, I ordered the burger. 10⁄10. Second time was the ribs. 11⁄10. Service was spot on. Cosy little joint with a good vibe.

Just finished dinner here after spending a couple hours at the PEM. While driving I saw the word«pub» so alas afterwards we headed over. A lot of people came in after us so it was a pretty full house despite it snowing. I was very weary when I couldn’t find any reviews on this place… How am I suppose to know what to order?! Anyways I have it a shot and got the venison with pasta which was okay, suprisingly this was the dish that I thought needed salt and didn’t have so much. The pasta was very interesting, green and flat! They should cut it since it’s such a long strip unless their goal is to keep it long like that. We also go the korean wings which were really good considering it’s Duck and duck isn’t the most moist meat in the world. The server was very nice and said that despite only opening 6 days ago– with all these storms they have been doing okay. So that’s why theres no reviews !!! It’s a new place! Anyways this meant she hasn’t tried out all the dishes yet but was able to recommend what people kept ordering. Our table didn’t have much lighting so it was very dark and kind of hard to read the menu but other tables looked fine. There’s a nice table that’s just kind of overlooking everyone which makes for good people watching and a date I assume. The shrimp and haddock bisque was delicious but a little too salty which kinda happens with bisques. There was just 2 pieces of small haddock and 4 small pieces of shrimp, but I drank every last drop. Then we got for dessert the rum cake which was very delicious, which it was bigger ! I expected it to be more of a cake texture but was surprise it was more of a tirimisu cake texture. All in all It was a great place to grab a late lunch/early dinner. Good service — she checked up a lot. Everyone was just very pleasant.
