When their pizza is good, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. But it’s too inconsistent. Sometimes it’s amazing, sometimes it not even round & is soggy. I know that’s a price to pay when you become a chain. But that disappoints me because I want to make this place my go to pizza shop. I just can’t because it’s a roll of the dice.

We love the pizza here and have never had a bad experience. Never had anything but good experiences with the staff. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be a drag but that’s a minor complaint.

Great chicken and fries, enjoyed my food. It called ahead and picked it up, so I can quite tell you how the service is.

They have definitely improved since my last review. They have had a couple of recent price specials. 3.5 stars now

People here haven’t a clue on how to treat a customer, yelling is definitely not the way. I didn’t catch her name but the woman taking my order was very rude. My suggestion is that if you want Sals go to the restaurant in Lawrence MA, not this black hole!

Went here on a Friday night(no one in dining room) and had to wait 30 mins for a pizza that my wife and I were eating there. Would have been quicker to get it delivered. Unacceptable and will not be returning. I asked the manager for a number for suggestions and was directed to go online at home. I went online, complained, and never heard anything. Ive left a voicemail with Sals corporate several weeks ago and haven’t heard anything from the company. All over waiting for a pizza. Its now developed into a ‘never returning’ scenario. This particular location has poor organization and Sals in general has poor customer service-period.

Tom is the nicest guy. Personable and professional, and really does a nice job with a request. How pleasant, and so appreciated. Thank you.

First off, its pizza. And its trying to be gourmet but its still pizza. The fat guy with the dark hair and big nose is the biggest dumbest piece of shit they could have there. He has terrible customer service skills, and on three separate occasions given my pizza away to other people. A chimp would be better at his job. Pretty decent selection. And you have to ask for the noon to 2 meal deal

This place is pretty similar to any other Sal’s pizza I’ve eaten at. It’s good but not the best pizza ever. I like that they have 19 inch pizza; definitely end up with some left overs. I wish they had delivery and the parking lot is pretty awful to get in and out of. It’s also located at the worst intersection(constant traffic) in Salem which stops me from going there as much as I would. Not bad but there are better.

It’s tough for me to give this place a better review or more stars since I was never actually given the pizza I had ordered by phone. When I went in to pick it up the 2 people behind the counter decided that telling each other stories was more important than even acknowledging my presence. Pretty sure that isn’t how customer service works.

We have been tom Salvatore’s many times and love it. We decided to stop in Sal’s for lunch today. People working there were not friendly at all. I got the impression we were interrupting them. Food took too long for 2 sandwiches. Almost 20 minutes. The 2 «large» subs we ordered were small compared to any other pizza/sub shop. And my wife’s meatball tasted like BJ’s Wholesale Club frozen food. @ subs and 2 drinks for $ 23.00, I expect a hell of a lot more and better service. Worst food experience in years. Will not be going back there.

The local paper reports that Sal’s is planning on tearing down this building, along with the building next door(By the Olde Garden Gate Antiques) and rebuilding the restaurant. This would be good as the current building is ugly. The new one will have a back deck and will be right off the new expanded rail trail, and the new Tuscan Market. Lets hope the qualith of the food improves.

Not bad, not great. There’s a lot of competition in Salem for inexpensive pizza.

Pizza’s we got were exceptionally good. Every component was all fresh and the dough was both, crunchy and chewy where it mattered, and very light. Zero greasiness. Never had such good stuff. The garlic bread was ok, but the unnecessary cheese spoiled the garlic and salt taste. The staff was a bit too hurried and gruff when taking the order(did not let me finish sentences). This is why I did not give them 5 stars, but 4. Still, Sal’s Pizza is the best Pizza place in the Windham/Salem/Derry area. I just wish that they would deliver. They only do takeout. Prices are very affordable.

Nothing is worse than a rude server behind the counter. This lady was the most rude & miserable person ever… although I do like there pizza, I’ll go somewhere else from now on.

Just tried the pizza. A slice is ¼ of a large pizza(good) But you almost pay for a half a pizza. I like the taste and not so much the price. The staff is o.k. but not at all friendly. I’ve found a much better place for slices… go to SUBDAY, They are friendly and make an awesome slice of pie !!

OMG a pizza with tomato chunks AND bland crust? Please skip all the bad reviews. Sal’s is pretty awesome pizza, the crust is different than that of a typical pizza take out place, its chewier and has a brick oven texture. The sauce has chunks, yes and the sauce is delish. Our highschool used to get Sal’s and it was like the best day of my life(every friday) because the slices are big, cheesy, and yummy. I hated dominos pizza day, the worst days of my life!

This location has gone downhill since they renovated. Pizza use to be very good. Now the pizza usually has too much sauce and just not consistent. The staff is rude and not very sanitary. My wife ordered a slice and the counter person licked his finger before taking the slice requested to be heated. Gross!!! Haven’t been back since.
