Delicious soup ! Love the reed opera house in general. Super great people own and work here. Wish it was open later but it’s not uncommon hours for the area. Great little place for a quick and tasty lunch alone or with a few peeps.

Their a lunch only shop and make some very tasty food. Try their grilled cheese for a twist on the traditional, you won’t be disappointed.

This is a tasty lunch spot inside the Reed Opera House in downtown Salem. They have sandwiches, grilled cheeses and about three soups daily that they change up. The soup was delicious and it was an awesome value– $ 6 for a cup of soup and a grilled cheese with a bag of chips. I got the tomato soup as its a classic paired with a grilled cheese and it was quite tasty. I tried a taste of the potato bacon soup and it was delicious. This is a perfect on-​the-​go lunch spot, be aware though, there’s not much seating inside.

The Soup Shack definitely lives up to its Unilocal reputation. Had their deluxe grilled cheese sandwich and a cup of chili after spending the better part of the day in 40 degree weather. Couldn’t have hit the spot better. Will be back again tomorrow.

I’ve eaten here twice and it’s been great both times. Both times I’ve gotten the lunch bag special which comes with a cup of soup and a half sandwich. Also a bag of chips and a drink. Believe the ratings, this place is my favorite place to go for lunch when I’m in the area!

Just wow! I haven’t even finished my lunch yet and I could wait to Unilocal about it! Their soup is amazing, sandwiches are even better. Ridiculously affordable lunch for downtown Salem, served two for $ 14. Takes a little bit (still less than 10 minutes) for the food to be cooked, but they do it all right there! So yummy. Definitely a must try! SO delicious!

This is an excellent but hidden place inside the old opera building. They currently share a space Roth the Little Cannoli space. The soups were excellent and my girlfriend had the Dressed Up grilled cheese and I had the Farmer Grilled cheese. This place is amazing! Is a mom and pop place with friendly staff.

I honestly didn’t expect it to be THAT good. Homemade soup, heck yes! Home cut meat for sandwiches, mhmmm. Half sandwich and a cup of soup for $ 5.50, what a deal!
I’m really impressed with their food quality and the flavor, such a great place and I will definitely be back!
