Days Inn Salina I-70

We stayed here last night on a last minute decision
(Sorry no pics)
A couple things I can say good about the place
Rooms are clean and beds were comfortable
The allow pets and the price wasn’t bad
The bad things…
Some might not consider this first one a bad thing but the whole hotel is non smoking
They have an indoor pool and hot tub but hot tub was broken …
The do not have a laundry facility (are you kidding me no laundry. Wow)
The girl at the front desk wasn’t very pleasant. She was more worried about the truck stop taking out Wendy’s instead of checking us in a timely manner
Another gentleman walked in asked her how much a room would be she told him wait your turn I have no idea how much it is I’ll have to look in the computer
(really you don’t know how much your rooms are. Again wow. Maybe her mind was still on Wendy’s)
They do have free wifi but don’t plan on using it because it won’t stay connected
As for hot water ., yes they have it but be prepared to let the water run a good half hour to get hot … This happens both at night and in the morning
Now as for their breakfast
The selection is typical … Toast bagels yogurt muffins waffles and biscuits and gravy
The biscuits and gravy was spoiled (pretty sure it was the gravy) yuck
Milk juice and coffee
No fresh fruit that we saw
If you have a large vehicle you can park at the truck stop across the street
I gave it a 3 star because our room was clean and beds comfortable an price
However we will not be staying here again. Wish we would have just went to Motel 6 next door … That is what we will do next time we are in the area

Staff were nice, beds were comfortable, tv worked. Shower looked a little gross, so we didn’t use it, and there were definitely stains on the comforter. But not bad for the price– the cheaper Motel 6 in town looked WAAAAY creepy, fwiw.

Exit 51 on North side of 70. Does not honor the Coupon Book price but has normal AAA, AARP discounts. Has pool and hot tub but only one seat has all jets working; separate towels in pool area a plus. Room 107 is a single queen with a nice sitting area. Wi-​Fi is unsecured and free and worked OK. Usual Days Inn breakfast with DIU waffles. Room was comfortable as was the mattress. Plenty of towels and shower had plenty of HOT water. Proximity to a truck stopping center was no problem with noise. Fast food at this exit: Wendys, Starbucks, Subway. More food options one mile west.
Not a five star rating as room needed some deep vacuming behind doors and in general. Quirky lamp on/​off switches. Will stay here again on the return if it works out.
$ 60.30 AAA rate + $ 8.99 tax Jan 10, 2015. And note if you’re headed west, after Salina, there aren’t many more options in Kansas.

I’ll make it simple… It is a day’s inn older model establishment. And the cleaning lady could put alittle more effort into the room if she wanted to. Not saying it’s bad. But for them trying to make it comfortable for you they do. Pool, and spa. And a better breakfast than stale cereal is a plus. Oh yea. I thought tube tvs were extinct but I guess not yet! Lol

This hotel is wedged between the Interstate and a ²⁴⁄₇ truck stop, so quiet is not on the menu. But it was OK with earplugs. Décor a bit dated, mattress a bit soft. The breakfast was fine, staff were friendly. Good, no-​hassle Internet. Given the price range of hotels here, it’s probably not a bad deal, but you might do better with Priceline.

Traveling and looking for a decent place at a decent price? Then this is the place to stay. While traveling on 70 this was right off the highway, had an indoor pol, free breakfast in the morning, and free wifi. Definitely worth the price. And, Shannon was absolutely wonderful.

Conveniently located, quick check-​in, room was clean with the exception of the shower curtain. Well located vending machines. Quick continental breakfast. Loud upstairs neighbors. Overall good experience for a goo
d price.

Cheap, no-​frills, convenient to I-​70: just fine if you’re traveling on a budget. Rooms are older but clean enough, though the A/​C unit was pretty noisy. Free wireless internet worked well. Free breakfast included fresh waffles but no yogurt or other cold items, and it is only served from 6−9am daily. Front desk staff wasn’t particularly friendly, either, but for one night this place was okay.
