Worst experience! I have never taken my time to write a review but this time I was really upset with the service. I have never been to a place so dirty and unpleasant. The tables smelled like a wet dirty rag, the floor had dry dirt all over. I wanted to leave as soon as I walk in but I didn’t wanted to seem so picky in front of my boyfriend and family. My food was cold and my smash potato was hard and old. To top it off the waitress was very rude, I didn’t get her name she’s probably in her mids 40s, black short hair. but for some reason she always had a funny smile all the time. The waitress came over and asked if we wanted to order any dessert. I started off by saying a Sunday and she was about to take off and I told her wait I need to tell you the ice cream flavors, so she listen to the first part and as I went on about the syrup, nuts and whip cream by the time i was finished she was gone and left laughing! I looked back at her and she told her co worker something and they both turn to look at our table. we waited forever then asked if it was almost ready and of course it wasn’t even started and it wasn’t like the place was busy so I canceled dessert. I will certainly never go there again! I really have never had a problem anywhere but this time it was something else. It was embarrassing to be ignored like that in front of my boyfriend and family. If I could I would give it a 0 stars, but I guess I have to add stars to add review.

Ordered a to-go order. Took over 40 mins for them to make, and it was a salad.(They were not busy at the time). Then when I was waiting one of the employees asked if I was helped already. I said that I was just waiting for my order and she said«what did you order? A salad?» Then she said that it was made and waiting on the counter, but they forgot it was a to-go order… Anyway fast forward 10 mins when I was going to eat it and I noticed that they didn’t give me any salad dressing… I went back and to get some, and the employee was apologetic but, the damage was done at that point… Overall a very poor experience. And definitely the worst experience at a Denny’s.

this restaurant is the worst … my server diego awesome but im sorry to say the good for nothing lady maria really unproffesional and rude i honestly dont know whos more dumb her or the idiot that hired her … all they do is steal ur $ go to north main better service and fully remodeled restaurant plus if they promise u to replace anything dont bother youll. struggle to get it out of them trust me ohh and no stars from me

I should of just listened to the reviews I had read the day before I came to breakfast with my family. It was my dad’s birthday and I decided to invite about 10 people. The only reason I decided to pick this place for breakfast is because they have a banquet room which would be perfect bc I know how busy breakfast is on Sunday’s. I called the night before and they told me the banquet room was still available so I decided to book it. I clearly told them we wanted the banquet room for 10am. The next morning we showed up at 9:53am and I told the girl on the counter that I had called the night before to reserve it. She called the manager and the manager asked me when I called. I then told her I called at 9 last night and even spoke with her but I called 5 minutes later to book it but I didn’t speak with her that time but with someone else. She looked confuse but told me to wait. My party of 10 and I are just standing waiting with the rest of the people waiting to be seated. From what I saw they had no idea I had booked the banquet room and they hadn’t cleaned it. I saw the manager going in n out from that room trying to clean it. 10 minutes later we got seated. Let me just say that room was filthy dirty. A chair had some nasty sticky stains and one of the place mats looked like they had already been used. The carpet was so dirty and that room needed to be vacuumed. I was honestly disgusted but we had no other choice than to stay since we had no other place that would have a table ready for my party of 10. We did switch some of the chairs ours selfs bc they were nasty. We put in our order and we waited about 45 minutes to get our food. I had to ask for napkins bc we had none when our appetizers got there. Some of the food was just warm like it had been seating there. I was really disappointed with the food and the long wait. I understand it was busy but I had already told them the night before about the big party of 10. One of the orders was wrong so it had to be taken back. Will I come here again? No thank you. This place needs to get cleaned up and that carpet needs to get cleaned or replaced. The waitress was nice but the slow service and the dirty banquet room is a big no no for me.

Horrible service we got there at 7:10 am it was only a group of 5ppl waiting for a table and I was with my husband they had us waiting to be seated for over 2o min and they only had 2 tables occupied I told a Lady Maria if it’s was going to take long she said yes we’re busy I was like busy? If you guys only have 2 tables OMG we just left they have Horrible customer service skills

Service was truly horrible. We were blatantly ignored by the employees and we noticed people behind us in line were getting their food and drinks already while we had never even gotten a drink. We told the waitress we had been waiting awhile and she rolled her eyes and said«whatever». She took our order and half an hour later, we still hadn’t gotten our drinks. We left. Truly horrible service. NEVERAGAIN.

So my Hun and I brought our daughter out to eat. She LOVES Denny’s. So right as we walked in there were several other patrons sitting. No employees were visible. NONE! probably took about 5 mins until we seen one. The AC wasn’t on so the sun was hitting is pretty hard. As we were beginning to take our seats on our own I started to close the blinds and the stick was so sticky, grossed me the hell out. We sat down and a waitress came and gave us menus. She brought the dirtiest high chair for my infant son and we placed his car seat on it. I thought ok No big deal I felt bad that I was irritated. I literally looked at my daughter and said. Ok none of this is bothering her let it go. Than I realized they hadn’t given her a menu. Waitress came back said she would go get her one. So she brought her a menu without crayons. Once I asked for crayons she said they didn’t have any but she’ll check. She took our drink orders 15 min later came back with those and 3 crayons. My advice to anyone. Don’t say you don’t have something until you are sure! Really annoying when people are visibly lazy. Food came out fast but man oh man waitress was extremely rude. Entire place was filthy. Honestly if the booths, menus and doors to kitchen were visibly dirty do you think they set good hygiene standards? I feel bad about bringing my family here. NEVERAGAIN. I still feel terrible.

Visited this Denny’s this morning with a friend. Just two of us, so even though it was busy with the Sunday crowd, it’s usually mostly families so I assumed we would have little problem getting a seat. Not true. After being told it would be a couple minutes, we waited fifteen minutes with no indication of the line dwindling. The entire time there were two *empty* tables set for two. I asked the hostess when I arrived if there was a wait for either of those tables specifically, and she said that she had to «go in order» of the wait list. I asked her why that would be, when all the parties in from of us weren’t able to be sat at those tables. She said she was just doing what she was told. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked her to see the manager, and asked him the same question. He said that people would get upset if we were sat ahead of them. I asked him if the two seated table would be empty until our names were called(which would have taken at least another 20 minutes). He said they would be empty. How does it make sense for a business to have empty seats with 30+ people waiting? We left. Poor management, poor customer service, poor cleanliness as well.

we went to lunch… and we had to wait The waitress lost our orders, and it took forever to get silverware. It took even longer to get the kids meal drinks. The wait time was the worst. This was the worst service, and I have been to some bad places. I wished that I had Unilocaled this place before entering it ;(

Denny’s is Denny’s. I usually like Denny’s for their value menu and their cute soda mixes. This Denny’s, however, is the first restaurant where I lost my temper. The Bad — 1. RUDE as f*ck manager. Maria, I’m talking to you! 2. Cooks and manager forgotten my order. I watched the host take up my order to the counter. You idiots must’ve lost it. 3. Manager Maria talking sh1t in espanol to her staff members about me. Lady, I was raised by mi lolita y comprendo espanol bien. 4. It took an upwards of an hour and a few minutes to get our food to go… bacon, sausages, 2 boiled eggs, toast, and an order of french toast. Yeah, it takes over an hour to get your food here. 5. DIRTY restaurant. You get an immediate sticky feeling coming into this Denny’s. The tables are left dirty and unattended to, and it’s very clear that patrons are antsy to get seated when there are over 5 tables that could be cleaned and have people seated. Redemption — 1. The host had seen how upset I got and kept trying to offer us free things to bring our visit to better terms. 2. Host took off $ 15 of our $ 20 check. 3. Host was very apologetic. I am NEVER coming back to this Denny’s in Salinas. EVER!

Denny’s isn’t fine dining, and I don’t expect it to be, but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had in one of these restaurants. It wasn’t busy. They were over-staffed and slow as snails. Took over and hour for us to get a veggie burger and a grilled cheese and salad. The worst grilled cheese I have ever had. Two dinky tomatoes that didn’t even cover a third of the sandwich. Burnt on one side. A bug actually crawled out of my salad. There were feces and blood all over the seats in the ladies room. Filthy, bad service, and terrible food.

Good location beside the Highway 1 at Salinas Airport exit, south Salinas. Clean, small place has friendly, efficient staff that provide the basic simple diner food. Standard food is fine and reasonably priced. Sometimes it is nice to get the familiar, no frills breakfast grand slam breakfast. Odd thing is: this place has a back room bar/lounge. Yes, a Denny’s Diner with a bar!
