Prime rib was excellent! Onion soup was off the charts. Enjoyed our dinner very much. Service could have been better but the food made up for it. Bus boy was great!

Stopped by for dinner with some friends while in town for work. The hotel we were staying at recommended Growers Pub for an excellent prime rib. They were 100% right. The prime rib came out and was like butter in your mouth. Cooked perfectly. Service was great. We were greeted upon being seated and checked on regularly. Drinks never went dry and any needs we had were met quickly. The price is as you would expect it for a choice cut of prime rib. Highly recommend Growers Pub. DOIT!!!

– My pal and I visited at 7pm on Tuesday night. The place was not busy and we were seated immediately. The restaurant looked nice. – I ordered the Ribeye steak cooked medium, baked potato(Butter only and lots of it; no sour cream thank you) and Fresh coffee. I specified Fresh coffee. My pal ordered Prime Rib rare. – My coffee was delivered so quickly I doubted it was Fresh. It was not. The bread served was stale and with a Very hard crust. Not good, and though we ate it, we were not offered more. – I ordered a cup of their clam chowder and it was served nice and hot, with little flavor of clams. – One man who worked at the restaurant was talking with other patrons so loudly directly behind our booth, that we were tempted to ask to be moved to another table. – It seemed to take a while to get our meals. Other patrons who arrived after us were served before us. – My Ribeye steak was Very Tough and was difficult to cut and chew. It was the worst Ribeye I’ve ever had. The baked potato(Butter only) was served with sour cream as well. – My pal’s Prime Rib was rare to the point that it mostly appeared uncooked/raw. – I see no reason to ever return.

A truly mouth-watering dining experience in a most unlikely looking place. While the sign out front of The Grower’s Pub boasts of spectacular prime rib, i’d dare to say that all the dishes available here are as savory and delectable. After my mother and I happened upon this place we definitely left with a happy tummy and an even more satisfied palate. My calamari steak was absolutely amazing. The fish was perfectly seasoned and lightly coated in a lemon caper sauce with crisp mixed veggies and the smoothest garlic mashed potatoes this side of the Mississippi. My mom’s prime rib was also delightfully seasoned and remarkably tender. The icing on the proverbial cake however, was the homemade peach cobbler. Warm, delicately sweetened, with just the right amount of cinnamon undertones and a creamy ice cream pairing. It honestly doesn’t get much better than this. Albeit a relatively small space, the overall ambiance was as inviting as it was comforting. Wether you come for the food or to watch a game in the bar area, you are sure to have an absolutely wonderful experience. The service was spectacular(thank you Camilo!) and overall cleanliness was appreciated. I can’t wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu. If you are in the area, i’d highly suggest stopping by!

First off parking was easy, we pulled up to the front of the place no problem, we where seated right away. The inside of the is very clean. My wife and I had good drinks(mojito, jalapeño margarita) that were perfect, coconut shrimp appetizer was perfect, our prime rib plates we’re amazing the veggies were very tasty also not soggy very fresh. Service was fast and very knowledgable, very nice people, we will be back, this is one of the best restraints in salinas, if you don’t feel like driving to Monterey this is your spot.

Terrible experience, the manager was extremely rude and raised his voice with me and my wife. I called the owner to complain about the managers aggressive tone and see what she thought. She was equally as rude. I told her I would be writing a bad review on Unilocal, her response«Nobody cares about Unilocal,I will just pay $ 100 to Unilocal to have your review removed». Great Food Disgraceful Management

This was my first time dining at the Growers Pub and I have to say I was very pleased. I had the Prime Rib and it was delicious. The atmosphere was more traditional, calm and relaxing. I’ve lived in Salinas almost all my life and was shock I have never been here. For sure I will be returning.

They have one of the best steak in town, their restaurant is dark inside gives you a Vegas casino feel.

I finally ate dinner here after passing by hundreds of times. I ordered the signature dish, Prime Rib, and I was disappointed. In my opinion, it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Also, the baked potato was under cooked and the ranch dressing on my house salad was almost flavorless. I love horseradish, I’ve even been to a festival near Tule Lake, and I really wonder where they get theirs from— I couldn’t even eat it… yuk On the positive side, the staff is wonderful. The hostess was super nice and my server was great. I just wish the food was much better ! 5 Stars for their Service

Always have a wonderful experience here, do yourself a favor and get what they’re known for the prime rib. I’ve had other menu items and they’re always delicious but nothing holds a candle to the prime rib. Love the atmosphere very kitschy, kind of makes you feel like youre in a piece of history. My servers have always been wonderful too! One of my faves!

We go here when Thomas is working the bar. You couldn’t meet a nicer guy. And he has skills making those cocktails. He’s the main reason I think a lot of people go there. He’s the reason I’m giving this place a 4 star rating. As for the food, unfortunately it’s hit and miss. As well as the wait service. It’s a bummer when you have a dish that blows you away, only to go back again for that same dish and it sucks. What a gyp. And one day the wait staff is very good, and the next day they can’t be bothered. Very sad. You would expect more for the prices they charge and how nice the place has been renovated. Not that I’m complaining about price. But you just want to get your money’s worth. Sometimes these owners forget.

Curtiss never smiles in pics, so let’s just say the bartender made him happy! As for myself I’m diving into my NY raspberry cheese cake and found a second love! You gotta try this place.

Unique pub which had an upscale feel to it. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, the New York steak was well proportioned and came along with normal side dishes. For dessert we had cream brulee. Another noticeable attribute are the historical lettuce farming community black and white framed pictures.

Wow I thought this place was a hole in the wall when walking in. Boy was I wrong. I had their skirt stake. One of the best I have ever had. Friendly staff, and the old time pictures on the wall give it an interesting feel. Defiantly going back soon.

Place is easy to pass and miss. Parking is a nightmare, I parked a block and a half away… You can’t have high class prices and menus, in a «Cheers» environment. Ok, so besides that, I ordered the Salmon fish had great flavor, but for $ 20 it was a very small piece. The potatoes were green(quick fact eating green potatoes will make you sick) the rest of my veggies were near raw but edible. No bread, side soup/salad is extra. The entire time I was eating all I could hear was the drunken screaming of the patrons taking part of «happy hour». By the time I left I had a massive headache. So, yeah it wasn’t great but it wasn’t a total loss. Good luck finding a parking spot, be ready for the loud bar, small & expensive menu, and small portions.

Though past and present ownership the skirt steak sandwich here takes the cake for an excellent lunch option. Soup or salad and fries or potato. Belly up to the bar or sit in a booth and feel the local history in the walls here. Great service and the shrimp and steak dinner is a feast. There is also an intimate banquet room that works for small parties.

I came here about 3 – 4 weeks ago with a dear friend and I must say, the parking was a pain in the butt(to get out of). The inside of the pub was beautiful. As you enter, the pub is right on the left side and the farther you walk down is where you can sit in and eat delicious steaks. We were seated by a server(unfortunately, I don’t remember her name, but she was awesome! She was very attentive and gave us suggestions to the menu items as we were new to the Pub). I ordered the New York Steak and my friend ordered the Class Risotto with steak. We also got the soup of the day which was Clam Chowder. The New York Steak was so delicious, it had blue cheese butter, choice of potato(I chose Au Gratin– so good), garden vegetable medley. The steak was the perfect texture and the flavor was savory and chewy. I would recommend this place to anyone. But keep in mind, because it’s high quality steaks, it will be on the more expensive side. My meal alone with drink and soup was $ 30+. And my friend’s was about the same. Together it was roughly $ 65+ with tax for the two of us. So keep that in mind, but don’t let that scare you. For once, there is a really good place in Salinas. I shall come here again when my paycheck comes in.
