Can a sandwich be any better? I think not! I love Ike’s menu choices and the fact that you can order ahead online. Lots of flavor is packed into their sandwiches. The bread is great, not some flavorless chain store bread. You can tweak your sandwich however you want. I like my sandwiches sloppy, and they make them just how I ask. I went through chemo and I was depressed because all my hair fell out. I ordered a sandwich online and asked them to put a little extra love into it. I swear they did! That sandwich was THE best!!! Who can be depressed after that?

The Matt Cain with jpoppers added is my sandwich. I’ve never had anything bad here but it is a little on the expensive side for a ‘wich. Its good!

Dutch Cruunch is the way to go! This is a pocket location that even though they may not have what you may be accustomed to they still serve the full menu of any Ike’s locations. I have been to this location once before and also have tried it through ordering though for pick-up. This location maintains the standard quality that anyone would expect from Ike’s.

don’t have much to add that a ton of Unilocalers didn’t already say. The sauces are addictive, the dutch bread is bomb. I am only giving 3 stars because Salinas location has much less to offer than the Monterey location. I would like to see more variety at this place and I think customers would support it. I come a couple times a month but if we had what Monterey location has it would be more like twice a week. Also, at the Monterey spot, you can order online or from an app. We exist, Ike’s and we want more variety and ordering capability. I hope someone sees this… But I love this place and come here … just not as much as I would IF.

I wrote an earlier review about the sandwiches and the blue cheese being more of a dressing rather than«chunky» as described on the menu. That’s pretty damn picky, I’ll admit. Even if the description is not accurate, the sandwiches are unbelievably good. So, do yourself a favor and go to Ike’s. «Stiffler’s Mom» is quite tasty, but don’t expect chunks of blue cheese. It’s simply a liquid dressing. Everything I’ve ever had at Ike’s has been outstanding. The sandwiches are creative, have a lot of variety, and you get to support a local chain rather than a soulless national chain with 1 million stores and no sense of adventure… GOTOIKE’S! Your stomach will thank you.

Good Sammie! Wacky menu, takes a little time to decipher, but AWESOME! Daughter had a soccer game in salinas, and grabbed a bag of the bounty afterwards and tried a good sampling of everything. All great! Had a picnic in the truck in the parking lot, watching dimwits waddle out of the jack-n-blah. What’s wrong with this world??! FINDTHEGOODSTUFF! Eggplant/Steve jobs! Matt Cain! One called(your favorite Sesame Street character). That’d be a Snuffaluffagus for me. A Grover for my wife. Ernie & Bert? You can get a Big Bird! They’ve got shops popping up everywhere.- which is great. KILLS Subway/Togos/mr. Pickle. I’m in. Put one in Gilroy!

Juicy and flavorful sandwiches. Fresh baked bread on the daily too. A little pricey but worth it. I had the pizzle and my boyfriend had the hot momma huda. Both delicious. Can’t wait to try something new.

Awesome sandwiches!!! My favorite sandwich place in California hands down! Also highly recommend the Voodoo Heat” chips, they are off the charts amazing;)

On my drive down to SLO, I stopped in here. Totally, completely mediocre and sad looking philly cheesesteak. One slab of meat, and maybe 2 – 3 mushrooms on the whole thing. It was like a big sandwich of bread, really. People working here were friendly and it was fast, but that’s not enough.

If you’re a first timer trying to figure out their large menu on the opposite wall behind you, they have no patience w/you. If you just want mayo instead of their ‘love sauce’, tough luck. Limited inside seating. Pretty pricey for ‘just a sandwich’. No, I won’t be back…

Baby and I tried to escape the heat from Hollister and drove to Salinas. Love Ikes in San Jose so I went there for Lunch. The menu is different but the sandwiches are just as good. I ordered the Matt Cain which was yummy and since I love roast beef. My only complaint is that I wish there was more horseradish in the sauce. Next time I am going to add bacon because I feel it needed something else. It was still a tasty sandwich. I can’t wait to go back and try the other sandwiches.

The service is awesome, you can tell the employees really enjoy working there and enjoy working with each other, and if they don’t they do a great job at faking it and that’s what good customer service is all about! Lol On top of that the sandwiches are phenomenal! I’ve tried at least 6 different ones and every single one of them was great! Highly recommend this place to anyone that appreciates a delicious gourmet sandwich :)

It is great having a this sandwich shop in Salinas! They have a wide selection of sandwiches. Parking is convenient. Service was quick and friendly. What is the name of this chain, anyway? This is Ike’s Lair, but I’ve also seen Ike’s Love in Walnut Creek and Ike’s Place on their web site. Identity crisis notwithstanding, the whole Ike’s chain makes specialty sandwiches that are superior to other chains, including Subway and Togo’s. The only rival it has is Capriotti’s.

AAAAAAAAAH! Service: super friendly and informative(love when they offer a to-go menu especially when I’m getting stuff to go, duh) Quality/Taste: OMG! Just got a «Mogul» and a diet dr. pepper but SRSLY, this sweet treat changed my life-Marshmallow coconut flake frosting around a ho-ho shaped white cake with caramel frosting inside. need i say more?!

This place never disappoints me. I usually get the spiffy tiffy but I finally stepped outside the box and tried the ménage à trois, I think that’s how u spell it. Lol I got to give it a two thumbs up. The sandwiches are pretty pricey, but hey; they are pretty good too.

Can I just say, Yum! Fresh and flavorful. I had the #5 Nacho Boy. Delicious and really fresh. Hubby had #18, left him speechless. So happy. Kids shared a Chester the cheetah with cheddar and havarti. Total bill was about $ 27. Definitely worth a stop. And a repeat. 6 tables inside and only one seats 4. Outside there were two benches.

My new favorite: Hot momma Huda! Halal chicken, ranch, provolone, franks hot sauce on Dutch Crunch. Show your badge from NMC and you get free drink and chips! I don’t think you can go wrong with any sandwich! I still browse the online menu from other cities since it’s a bigger selection, but I always go for the Hot momma Huda.

Ike’s in Salinas?! Who knew? Stopped off for a quick lunch on our drive from SF to SLO and was ecstatic to see Ike’s pop-up on Unilocal. Same monstrous menu as the other locations, so I recommend having at least a faint idea of what the taste buds are craving, else you may be there a while. Split the Spiffy Tiffy with my boyfriend. More than enough to feed both of us, so it goes with all their sandwiches. Fresh, simple ingredients perfectly molded into a sub sandwich. Whatever you do — go for the dutch crunch roll. Staff was helpful and really friendly. If I happen to find myself in Salinas again, Ike’s will be on the to-do list for sure :)

A local sub shop chain, Ike’s has a big list of veg-friendly items, big portions, and is pretty much delicious. Downside is that there isn’t much seating, and the diet pepsi tasted really weird… but that might have been because its… pepsi. SETTING: Small store, with the sandwich line and food production area taking up about half of their square footage. Needless to say, its a tad bit cramped given that its not in a bustling downtown. Décor is kinda gritty and heady; true casual attire(like gym clothes casual). SERVICE: Counter service kind of place. Nothing memorable about employees, didn’t have to wait too long for food. FOOD: They have a pretty big menu and a few choices of bread. All of their dishes have funny/punny names, and their are TONS of veg options, including veg meatballs(and other meat products). Portions were pretty big too…
