Been going to a lot of different places looking for a permanent spot. After searching everywhere I finally found a spot here at modern cuts with Jessie. He cuts hair phenomenally and even does eye brows

First time here, expecting a regular hair cut, but left with something new, different, and extremely satisfied. Strongly recommended and surely be back.

Long Story Short… I’ve been going to the same Barber for about 14 years. It wasn’t until recently that I had to look for someone new and I am very glad I did.
I decided on Modern Cuts due to the excellent reviews their barber Jessie was getting. After a few sneak peeks of his pictures I was sold. I gave him a call mid day Tuesday to set up an appointment for Saturday. He politely asked me a few general questions; he had an opening and I was set.
The Salon is tiny but very nicely decorated. A clean salon not overcrowded. I think this is due to setting up appointments. Real cool way to manage your time. I showed up about 10 min early, took a seat, patiently waited my turn, and was attended right on time.
On to Jessie… Yes! The man! He got down let me tell you. He’s got some skills. I pointed out how I would like my haircut and he began his magic. Real cool guy. A clean fade on the sides; taperd on the back, clipped up top; plus he cleaned up my beard, I was set. Loved his work so you know I had to tip him. Before I walked out he handed me his business card and said call or tex me anytime for an appointment. Doesn’t get any easier or better than that.
Thank You Jessie; hope to see you again each and every time I need a cut. Superior Work Man.

Just wana say Estela is a Real artist! Last night (12/10/2015)was my first time at Modern Cut! It is one of the few times in my life that I have been so happy with my hair cut! My hair is curly and as I am a mom and student, want an easy chic stylish short haircut, which is so difficult with my hair to get a perfect and exact what you ask for! She spend almost one hour to reach the best result! kept telling me every step that what she wants to do and if its how I like it or not! Estella is an wonderful person and amazing hairstylist! I love my hair cut and l love my hair stylist!

The best cut and style I’ve had in area! Jesse is not only a master of the clippers, but the shears as well! He understands hair and clearly had s fantastic technical training. I’m looking forward to my hair growing out, because I can’t wait to go back! Well done! #win

Terrible business practices here. I scheduled an appointment for 12:30pm today, I show up and the guy already had another appointment. When I tell him I had scheduled a 12:30pm appointment today he just said he would let Stella know, since she’s out sick? I don’t think he even apologized. No phone call or anything to reschedule my appointment, and the guy I spoke with in person didn’t even offer for me to wait and help me after he cut the guys hair. I would have waited or came back in a little while. This is my only day off during the week and I was really looking forward to getting my haircut here, especially since I scheduled an appointment. Totally bummed and I will not be back.

Jessie do u have any spot for appointment today, I know u r busy but I need a haircut. I am also referring my 3 Co-​workers for haircut because they are not happy from their salon they go to. I told them about you and they will call you today.

First and foremost. I would like to thank Jessie for doing such a phenomenal job giving me a haircut.
I have never been to a shop that took such good care of my hair as he did. Im a very particular person when it comes to my hair so at first, I was very skeptical to come here as it was my first time. But no oh no I did not regret it because of the fact that he gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. He took his time and more importantly, he got my hair to how I exactly wanted it to be. Nice, clean, and proportionate. I will be glad to say that he has found another regular or should I say a loyal customer for the years to come. A well deserved review as im not usually the one to write reviews except for bad experiences. This definitely earned a review for me. Once again, thank you Jessie. And I will be back sooner than expected.

Super happy with Estella! She did an awesome job with the chemical straightening I had. She was recommended to me by Jessie. so thankful that I took a risk and I love it! Highly recommended!

JESSE is an amazing barber. He has been taper fading my hair now for 3 years and I have followed him from the mall to the rodeo grounds and now to this nice, quiet establishment. Great work at a great price, appointments are best. He can also give you hair designs/​tattoos which he has done for me on a few occasions.

I really love her she is so sweet. My mom, sister, and me are very picky with who touches our hair. Before she started cutting she ask us exactly what we wanted and how we wanted she explain to us how she would do it. The best part is that she listen to our expectations and what we wanted. She did a fantastic job I will defiantly be back

I’ve been going to Estella for over 17 years. She opened her business in the same strip mall during the same year we opened our business. We were all so busy, it was natural to just walk several doors down for a haircut.
Years ago, I told Estella that I did NOT want to have the same hair style for the next 30 years. She has been faithful to this dictate! I’ve had red hair. I’ve had short hair. I’ve had curly hair. I’ve had straight hair. Whatever style I have, I do NOT look like Zippy the Pinhead, nor an old lady! She is AMAZING!!!
She won The Salinas Californian’s 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards for best hair salon. Woo-​hoo!

Estella always does an amazing job at cutting and styling my hair. She does exactly what I want her to do, which is sometimes rare at other places. Her prices are really affordable. Would definitely recommend!
