Sonic Drive-In

Had lunch today, asked for no Ceasar on my sandwich and when they put Ceasars on it I told them I asked for no Ceasar and Joann told me I was wrong and I didn’t tell her no ceasar. Then my sisters order was for bbq and they gave her buffalo. I handed it back to the lady and she gave us a new one and it was still frozen still. I usually have decent service, but she was not polite.

Bad bad BAD!!! No no and more noooooo… This is a horrible sonics can’t even believe this place exists! After a late movie at the theater the wife and I were hungry and had the hankering for some wingstop. She called but they had her wait (we should of waited) and then I remembered sonics had their new boneless wings flavors and told her «hey lets go try the new wings from sonics» bad move! We went and all the park locations were on so I parked and looked at their menu to see what else looked good. When we were ready to order I pressed the button and the answer was «oh were close, only drive thru is open» well FML!!! Turned the signs off dang it!!! Anyways I went trough the drive thru and was greeted with the rudest person I have ever had the «joy» to speak to. «What do you want?» Was what I got. So I ordered a classic chicken sandwich and before I finished saying my order she said anything else.
Then I ordered 6 pc garlic parmesan wings and again she Interrupted me with the anything else line. I ordered another 6 pc buffalo sauce wings and another classic chicken sandwich. When I pulled up the window the girls inside just were standing there talking there mouth off with the window closed. After they decided to charge me and hand me the food they looked like they had no idea what they were doing. They gave me half of my order only and then the girl closed the window. I did not move, the girl who handed me the food looked confused and was asking the other girls something. After a minute or so she gets more food and says sorry I forgot the other sandwich.
So I parked in a parking space to eat and the first thing I grabbed was the sandwich. BLAAAH!!! The burger buns tasted like old bread that’s been heat up in the microwave. The chicken was cold. The boneless wings were a joke. After seeing a review of them on youtube, shout out to daym drops, in his review the wings were covered in sauce. Mine? Well lets just say they got some chicken nuggets, got a bottle of ketchup, cleaned it out, put the garlic or buffalo sauce in there and squeezed a drop of sauce on the wings. I was eating chicken nuggets with a hint of their new sauces.
Hope this place closes down cus its just a waste of space. Pretty soon this place is going to be the next Chipotle with its E. Coli situation if they don’t find people that take their job serious no matter where one works at. Save your money Carl’s Jr across the street is a better spot. Two thumbs down, 0 stars out of 10,0.5 out of 5 the lowest of the lowest.

WHO THE HELL THOUGHT SQUARE SPEED BUMPS WERE A GOOD IDEA!!! I’ve been to sonics from Cali to Texas and have NEVER seen ANY type of speed bumps! They’re so scratched up from peoples cars hitting them. Worst idea ever.
Ive also noticed that the medium sized chili cheese tots at this location are not the same size as other locations, by a long shot!

Man, I wish this place was better. How fun would it be if their was really a drive-​in that was tasty and quality. The servers do roll up on you in roller blades but they could care less about your order or any thing else you need. They are just food runners. And the food is just fast cheap food. Not real quality.
These places are getting their lunch eaten by fast casuals like Chipotle and Shake Shack.

Whoever runs this place is running the sonic name into the ground. Every time I go they are out of the one thing I want. They offered me a substitute and gave me cold food. I tried one last time tonight, officially done with this place. Long waits, cold food, out of everything. Don’t waste your time and gas like I did.

This was my first time to Sonics and i was hoping for a more friendly staff, but the person who took my order was very rude, I asked them what is the famous slush and he just responded it’s just a name. I just let it go but they should have a better response then it’s just a name.

This place has my favorite food but to much of the time it’s done lazy I they forget items on the burgers and still charge you they half ass there food late at night before closing im sorry but whether you close at 9pm or 12pm the food needs to be freshly made to order my French fries and totts wear obviously cooked in a huge batch right before closing so they didn’t have to make them hot and ready to each order I’m very disappointed you guys always forget items please someone do something about this management and team that you have they need to wake up and stop half assing shit

The food is a little pricey 4 what your getting. But best time 2 go is at happy hour, can get a few good deals. I really enjoy the environment with my family. Plus service is usually nice.

The food is terrible. Tried it for the second time since they opened, the melted cheese on my hot dog was cold again. the tater tots were greasy. I would rather drive to the Gilroy sonic, the food is better there

Most disgusting food I have ever eaten. Yuck

I went on a road trip and we needed a late dinner. The drive through was really long so we pulled to one of the lit up parking spots where they bring it it to you. After deciding what to get, my bf pushed the button to order. The guy said you can’t order from the parking spots. Ok, then why the heck do you still have all of the menu signs lit up? Turn those off then we would know to go right to the drive through! Other people were doing the same thing as us. My bf was frustrated so we ended up going to some other nasty fast food place. I dig their slushy things or whatever they are called though.

Fun experience! Good chili cheese tots but the portion was a bit small. The strawberry slush was yummy too (tastes like strawberry fruit popsicle). They serve the food on roller skates.

The first couple of times I’ve gone to Sonic’s in Salinas, the service wasn’t too great. but I went this time and we had fast service and an employee named Chance was at the drive thru window and was very nice and had great customer service!

4 because of the way they deliver the food. It’s quality of food is good. It’s fast food though, so you can’t expect too much. Their shakes are a must try! The food isn’t the best ever but the ambiance is great, especially at night.

Came with my wife. not that I wanted to come back to this hole… this Salinas Sonic makes all the other Sonic look bad… the screen says that they accept MasterCard. But they don’t. Don’t ever come in the morning they take forever to bring your order. I well be calling corporate too tell them about the rude GM and the rude carhops

Unless you have at least 30 mins or more to spare don’t bother.
I’ve gone there 3 times and have been unable to get service. I just sat at the order menu for 15 mins after I pushed the button. No service. By the time I figured they weren’t coming the other line had grown 3x as large and wasn’t worth the wait. AGAIN!!!

Employees were rude and didn’t know their own menu. Had to repeat ourselves more than once. Our food was cold and the employees were just inside chatting and eating. Would rather drive to Gilroy Sonic then come to this one.

I wish I could give zero stars, food was not all in the bag and hours after eating (only thing I ate all day) I got so sick I had to go to the doctor and be taken off of work. We will never visit Sonic again!!!

I should start by saying that we try not to have fast food too frequently, but I have two daughters who LOVE the idea of ‘picnics in the car’ and we’ve been three times since Sonic opened.
I went in with minimal expectations for several reasons. Any time a new restaurant opens in this county the first several weeks are hellacious… Usually overcrowded, with excessive wait times, and poorly trained employees. I was expecting a long wait with sub-​par service and I was pleasantly surprised.
Our first visit was a trip through the drive-​thru as all of the drive-​in stalls were occupied. The line was a bit slow, but not outrageously so. As soon as it was our turn to order we saw how hard the ‘new kid on the block’ was trying to beat the ‘new restaurant’ stereotypes. The young lady taking our order was polite, friendly, and repeated our order perfectly. The order was repeated at the window (correctly) and the entire transaction was extremely pleasant. Food was just what we ordered, was up to Sonic’s quality that we’d experienced previously in Gilroy, and was ready quickly.
Our next two visits were both at a drive-​in stall. Both were equally pleasant and the service was MUCH quicker than expected. The kids on skates were polite and helpful, and the food was hot and met expectations.
I’d agree with the other comment about the square speed bumps (wth?), but other than that (and a somewhat inconvenient location), our experiences have been very positive. The calorie content is WAY too high to be a regular stop for us, but for a treat, it’s a great choice.

LOVE the Asiago burger. And like someone else mentioned in the reviews the square bumps are horrible haha but other than that the service is good and food is awesome.
Sometimes they get the drink menu mixed up but it’s not a big problem. :)
