My husband surprised me Valentines Day for a dinner at Capris. I’m a waitress of 23 years and have NEVER experienced anything like this. We were sat and prior to being greeted by our waiter, I watched him make 3 mistakes by dropping food at wrong tables, walking off and then grabbing food as folks are about to dive in and drop it off at correct tables. He FINALLY greeted us and 10 minutes later we got our bottle of wine. We ordered a veal parm and chicken saltimboca. We arrived at 7 pm. 8 pm rolls around and still no food. I did however receive a side of pomodora sauce that the table next to us ordered. They arrived 30 minutes after us. Came and went. My husband got a babysitter til 8:30. Our waiter apologized for the delay and said«kitchen was backed up» there were empty tables everywhere and watched people come and go. The manager came over at 8:20 with 2 Caesar salads and a disgusting fig wrapped in proscuitto. Apologized and said«8 more minute wait on food». I was beyond pissed!!! My romantic date turned into a nightmare. 8:30 came and I walked up to manager and asked for my bill for the wine and said we had to leave. She apologized again and said they will pack food up to go. We waited another 5 minutes. We left angry and starving. Get home to find find out they packed up someone else’s meal and received a gross steak and shrimp scampi. I called the manager and explained their(yet again) mistake. As a former manager of a restaurant myself, I would have offered a gift certificate to give the restaurant another shot. Instead I got(yet another) apology, got asked if the food was edible and a «I’m sorry for your experience. I hope your valentine’s day gets better». CLICK. I work at a bar here on salisbury beach that does not serve food. I ALWAYS send people to Capris. Not only will I not send people there, I Wil make a point to steer folks away.

Nice atmosphere, good food and service. I’d return. It was a cold night, and very quiet there.

I don’t know why the bad reviews… Have been here about 6 times and would go more often if closer. Went Saturday of New Years weekend and it was quiet. The inside is nicely decorated and we were greeted by our friendly hostess. Husband got fish which he enjoyed thoroughly and I got a chicken and broccoli dish. My dish was much bigger and I got to enjoy the leftovers for lunch at work. Bread and dip were great! Unfortunately the singer on Saturday was off that night which would have made the evening complete. Will definitely go back.

Horrible, horrible service. We waited about one hour for our meals. Food was tasty, but I was so disappointed and EXHAUSTED from the wait that it was hard to even enjoy and I just wanted to leave.

Jesus. Christ. I can’t even begin to tell you how bad the service is here. I read the reviews prior to arrival and thought, «Can it really be that bad?» Yes, it can. We are a party of 3 on a Wednesday night. Strike 1: A very unfriendly short haired older woman sat us in the dining room. Gave us no menus. Strike 2: Ignored for 10 minutes after we sit down. Waitress finally comes over to take our order, not acknowledging that we have no menus. Strike 3: There are only 2 parties in the dining room, us included. She takes our drink order and they arrive 15 minutes later. Not sure if this is due to a slow bartender(who has a full bar, but c’mon) or if she forgot to put the drinks in. She blamed it on the bartender though. 30MINUTESAFTERARRIVAL we finally put out food order in. We were so hungry that we went up to the salad bar before even ordering our meals. Ridiculous. Strike 4: Food arrives, it’s decent enough. Not fantastic. Minus a star for the cheesy loud 50’s music. Minus a star for the first waitress. Minus a star for the second waitress. Minus a star for the slow bartender. The only redeeming factor of this restaurant is the free olive bread. It’s delicious. Isn’t this the same owner of the Seaglass? How can one restaurant be so great and the other a complete disaster? Capri, get your act together!

We were a party of 9 the restaurant was understaffed but empty the service was horrible, the staff(waitress & hostess) were rude and the food was well below average. We expected average food but we did not expect a rude un-attentive staff. We sat without water, bread or drinks for over an hour. This was absolutely the worst restaurant experience. Would not recommend and will not go back…

Ate here for the first time as I spent the weekend at salisbury beach. Got the muscles(white), fried calamari, and meatballpalooza. 5 different meatballs and sauces includes a small side of penne all in idividual bowls on a clear rectangular plate. A special on Sundays. Nice presentation but everything was just too salty. I must have went on a day that someone complained the food was bland because the calamari was so salty it was inedible. A lot of of old folk too, that could have been the source of complaint. Just speculation on my part, to be fair this was the grille and bar side there is the fine dining side that I have not gone to but I would imagine same kitchen and chef just a limited menu on the bar and grille side. Service was a bit slow, I did ask for apps and dinner to come at the same time, which in hindsight was a mistake as I had to ask the waitress to check on our food after 40 min. After which she promptly brought our muscles and the rest came shortly after. Nice atmosphere but older crowd, I mean they have to have some place to go when surfside and the other places start gearing up for younger night crowd. Which happened to be why I ate there. Surfside asked for my 13 year old daughter’s I. D. which she got a kick out of. But totally squashed our plan of enjoying our dinner on the deck overlooking the ocean. They need a family restaurant down there with a deck view of the ocean. They would have had me for a customer all weekend. Well Capri anyway I think could be a good restaurant. It just wasn’t for me this time.

I enjoy coming to Capri with my family. This restaurant is appropriate for a nice night out but also works for kids. The food is good and the atmosphere is sort of a nice and casual at the same time. When I’ve come here, parking has never been a problem. It’s right across from the Blue Ocean Music Hall.

We waited from 8:15 to 8:30 before we were even seen by our waitress. We were a table of seven. Seven people were expected to share one bread basket. There was no replenishment to the bread basket. We ordered at 8:35 and waited until 9:25 to receive our food. Food was great. Good selection. You just have to wait one hour for it. Service overall was terrible. The staff and the management were completely disconnected from our table of 7. The wife has mandated that we never, ever come here again. We will be eating at Seaglass next time.

This is the second time my wife and I have eaten at Capri. Twice because we had gift cards, aside from the gift cards we would never have gone back to this disaster of an establishment. Both times, we ordered take out and were given outrageous wait times to pick up our dinners 45+ minutes each time. Both times we showed up to pick up our dinners after the ridiculous waits, we then were told our food would be out right away etc and ended up waiting 45 more minutes. The service is a disgrace and yes they made us pay for our dinners in full. My chicken parmesan dinner had approximately 20 Penne noodles and was a disgrace. Did i mention this place is a disgrace? Dont waste your time, and you will at Capri.

Service was horrible. I’m glad we gave ourselves 2 hours for dinner. Even then we had no time for dessert. Our waitress was a ghost. It took 30 minutes after being seated to order and 40 to get bread. We ordered a glass of wine when our mains arrived and wasn’t delivered until 10 minutes after we finished. No real apology, in fact she wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I got the check. While the food was good I asked for angel hair in my frutti di mare and was told no substitutions(even though my wife got her choice of pasta with her dinner). No problem I said but then you didn’t include any clams in the meal as stated on the menu. I’ve asked the manager to contact me which will determine whether we ever go back.

This restaurant provides fairly unispired Italian food. We went there for a pre race carbo load dinner. We had to wait nearly 1 hour to even get our salads after ordering our dinner. The dinners finally arrived about 2 hours after ordering. This could be a nice place but they need new management.

My wife and I went there last night on a whim. We usually go there once or twice a year during the winter. I’m glad we did. We did have to wait for 15 mins but it was a warm Friday night in September. The haddock piccata and lobster risotto were both fantastic! Tons of lobster in the risotto. The house Cabernet was also very good and the wine was properly«warmed». Waitress was very attentive and friendly(she always is).

We sat in the bar area. This is a decent place to bring a date, although I was with an egghead buddy! The place is clean and has a touch of class. The hostess had a smile and the bartender had a bit of a snarky attitude but overall delivered. The complimentary bread basket would have been a good had it not been filled with end pieces that were stale. The dipping sauce was very good. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was mezza mezza. I asked for the pasta on the side. They put the mushrooms and Marsala sauce on the pasta and gave me two plain chicken breasts, that’s a bonehead move but I’m not dinging them for it. My friend had the Fettuccine Alfredo and said it was the best he’s ever had(and he’s had plenty of it!). The bill for two with drinks was $ 51 and I have to say that’s not a bad deal. I’ll try them again.

We had a lovely Saturday evening meal. Greeted by pleasant hostess. Efficient, personable waiter. All four meals were beautifully presented and delicious. The home made fettuccini was a real treat. We will be returning and happy to bring friends along.

Went on a neighbor’s advice Wednesday evening. A total of TWO tables occupied, and I’d have to wait an hour ?? Really ?? For the quickly-prepped pasta special ! I guess there is a balance between perceived exclusivity and a cash paying customer, especially when the place is nearly EMPTY ! No thanks…

Good food. Intimate Atmosphere especially in the winter. Great drinks and easy parking. This is a great spot and after dinner you can walk on the beach. The only problem is that in the Summer they let customers bring their dogs inside… that’s just plain unsanitary, distracting, and quite simply… gross.

I have been here a few times and never had a bad meal. Our most recent experience was Valentine’s weekend(a Friday night when there was also a show at Blue Ocean). I highly suggest making a reservation if you are attending the show or hoping to be seated before 7:00/7:30. I called that afternoon and left a message; my call was returned and we got the last pre-show table/reservation. I witnessed quite a few disappointed people being turned away in the 6:00 hour(no doubt Sea Glass was just as bus, so without a reservation you were out of luck). Capri has private parking, but also shares a parking lot across tshe street with Blue Ocean(music hall) and their sister restaurant, Sea Glass. Capri is a bit more reasonably priced that Sea Glass with a cozy, warm atmosphere(a little less«special occasion» than Sea Glass, but worthy of one nonethless). They have a nice, gas fireplace in one room, and there is also a sectioned off area of tables reserved as «dog friendly» which sounds strange, but is a great idea in theory. Our dinners were very good(I had haddock while my husband had a special, stuffed pork chop). Portions were medium-large and I brought home some of my dinner. The drinks were great, as well. Service was efficient and friendly. All-in-all, it was a pleasant experience and I plan to return. Capri is not«North End» or super fantastic, but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised especially considering most options at the beach of chicken fingers, pizza, etc. It’s a place to have a nice meal at the bar or at a table — worth checking out.
