Great experience every time and service is great! So much to pick from when it comes to the food!

Service left a lot to be desired. Daughter said crab cakes were way too fishy. Had to get up and ask for refills on drinks and get silverware. Made them aware of both. No offer to discount bill any.

I’ve had a number of good meals at DJ’s. They make one of the better burgers in the Salisbury area and their salads are also very good. Especially like the waffle cut sweet potatoe fries. Service has always been excellent too.

The food is not anything to rave about. They’ve recently renovated the outside bar area so it looks more modern. It can get pretty busy on a Saturday night since it seems to be the only hip place in town open past 9pm. Also, people are allowed to smoke in the enclosed outdoor patio. I haven’t reeked of smoke coming out of a bar since 2004?!

After 3 more experiences at DJ’s I can say it’s gotten much better than when I first tried it months back. I’ve had the crab cakes, the blackened catfish and the salmon, all three were very good. Other than the fires the accompaniments all seem home made and have a nice regional charm to them. The fries are good but standard frozen«well seasoned» fries. The servers(waitresses) have all been extremely friendly, although perhaps not as sharp as they could be but their demeanor makes up for them not being thorough. One can’t beat the prices and it’s great to be able to get something other than fast food after 9 pm in Salisbury as most other restaurants are closed by 9pm which is disappointing! In the evening it’s usually a lively, upbeat mixed crowd which is also a nice change from many other Salisbury restaurants. Most other places have a somewhat glum atmosphere which when in the mood for SILENCE is great but otherwise can be a «Debbie-downer».

Still come here as a regular, and still find excellent value. Staff turnover is low, so that means three management is making them feel respected. Excellent drafts and the Sky lounge is one of the best outside patios I’ve ever seen. Experienced a torrential downpour and felt only a mild mist. Extremely nice experience.

Please don’t order Italian here. They are Greek and their Greek food was good but they removed a bunch from their menu. The Alfredo isn’t bad but beyond that don’t go for Italian. They used to have misaka, domathka, and spinakopita. Go back to your roots!!!

I like DJs, especially now that they have the outdoor patio area. The food is decent but service is sometimes lacking. On three occassions we have had servers who did not know what kind of beer they had on draft and we often have to request things multiple times before getting them.

I’m sorry to hear complaints from neighbors about the noise, but my experience was very positive. Our party of 7 adults plus a 2yo was seated quickly. It was early on a Saturday night and there was not a band playing. We dined inside, but the outside bar area looked nice. Our drinks came out quickly. Our waitress, Martha, was pleasant and attentive. But what really impressed me was how good the food was combined with the speed at which it was delivered. Most of the time you get good food, or fast food, but it’s hard to get both. I don’t know about other folk’s 2 year olds, but mine is not very patient. So I was thrilled when it came out quickly. I ordered the Cheerwine BBQ Spareribs o/Manchego Grits with a side of Mac-n-cheese. I’m very particular about my grits & this place did them right. The Cheerwine BBQ sauce complimented the spareribs perfectly. The mac-n-cheese was scarfed down quickly by my daughter. My wife ordered the pan crusted salmon o/grits w/a side of sauteed summer vegetables. The portion size was quite large, but the salmon itself was only fair. However, she said the vegetables were very good and she too was impressed with the grits. Overall our experience was good. We have family that lives in the area and will definitely return when we visit again in the future.

Great band and food, however the bar manager had problems(nose problem???) and was very verbal about others complaints on drinks and caustic in my presence. Hello… I don’t want to hear your problems, you are supposed to make me feel comfortable. Get it???

I live 3 blocks from this place which is convenient if you were to drink. Since spring I’ve been kept up late at night with there outdoor bands playing past midnight. The employees are rude, do not care if People in their neighborhood are kept awake late at night. I’ve looked them up and they have been fined and arrested for noise violations. When I call them late at night to complain about the noise, I tell them if they do NOT shut the band down, I’ll file a complaint, her response, «we can afford a ticket», then hung up.

We were in town for a local sporting event and someone remembered DJ’s from the last time they were there a year or two ago. When we walked in they exclaimed that it wasn’t remotely similar to how it used to be, and that was a good thing! The décor is really modern yet comfortable. The layout of the restaurant keeps noise levels down. And even though there are TVs all around, it didn’t make it feel like a sports bar. FOOD — We had the cheese dip appetizer which was wonderful! We ate it all. I got a side salad, sautéed veggies, and their Rosemary Manchego grits. Salad is really just a bowl of lettuce. Veggies weren’t all completely cooked through. Grits needed just a little extra something. They were good but borderline flavorless. My husband got the fried shrimp. They were delicious. Fries were standard. Someone else got a Reuben and said it was good, but it looked like it could have used more meat in my opinion. SERVICE– really friendly. Nothing but great things to say!

Great food but I was improperly and without cause detained. I was riding by the restaraunt heading home on my bicycle home texting my girlfriend. I had to stop in there parking lot to finish texting. At that time a bouncer walked up to me and told me I couldn’t be there. and had to leave. I told him I was just texting a minute and that I lived next door. He then proceeded to call the police and told them I was being disruptive(which I was not at all) and I was hand cuffed and they took my granddads knife from me. I did get it back directly but what the hell DJ’s. I am a regular customer. A disabled Marinecorp vet and get hassled by the your so called bouncer and the police for just walking through? I have been putting up with the loud music and parties in the past but not anymore. I will complain every time if things are going to be unfriendly. I will be able to sleep better for sure.

First the food was not bad. We had mozzarella sticks for an app and chicken caesar wrap which were both good. The reason for the two stars is the unprofessional service. First I heard consistent swearing and bickering from the employees both through the kitchen door and in plain sight as well as watched them eating food while in plain sight. Some of the waitresses look like Denny’s material while others are dressed like escorts.

Very appealing restaurant, outside bar and eating area is very nice. Unfortunately my wife, who is a vegetarian, ordered a vegetable quesadilla. It came out with green peppers, tomato, and green onions, all raw, on a bed of white rice atop a fried tortilla shell. My wife ate about a ¼ of it and questioned our server regarding how the rice was prepared. The rice was cooked in chicken stock! Server was very apologetic and sorry. However the quesadilla was still charged on my bill. My chicken wings were fine and sons Philly cheesesteak drew no complaints. They have a nice thing going but need to be more aware of persons with different dietary needs.

Once the bar opened outside which looks absolutely AMAZING the lighting the set up the tvs it looks GREAT however the service is the absolute WORST I’ve probably ever had at any restaurant in Salisbury :/I’ve been there a total of three times since the outside bar opened and each time we had a different server and they were absolutely clueless about specials, drink specials etc they rarely ever came back to check on us and we literally had to flag them down to get another drink. The pizza is awesome but that’s about it. That place has SO much potential if they would hire or better yet TRAIN their staff better. The last time we were there we saw a waitress we previously had and her first words were«Wow, I’m surprised you guys came back» honestly I was in shock ANY server anywhere would ever say that!!! I also didn’t like the fact we saw the bartender working the outside bar walk around and smoke(which is disgusting) and not even wash her hands after we just watched her smoke a cigarette and return to the bar to make drinks again! The money they put in making that gorgeous outside bar they should’ve also invested in better training for their staff. I hate to sound so nit picky but the fact I’ve been a waitress for 7 years and notice these things I was honestly appalled … However they do have great drink specials and I think come football season it will be a fun place to watch games that is IF they step up on the service of the waitstaff. Plus the constant elevator music on a patio/bar like that is pretty annoying as well. Just giving a little constructive criticism and I hope I didn’t upset anyone!!!

This is a nice neighborhood bar and restaurant. Only 2 to 3 places were open in Salisbury during the winter storm, and this is one of them. I was here last week on Thursday. I am glad this place was open that day. It was quite busy. No wonder why. I had a pizza. It’s really good. Many times I had their tuna sandwich and crabcake snadwich. I like their fries. The staff is friendly. The place is big and perfect for a big group. The bar area is pretty nice.

I know this is a local favorite. I can say — do not order the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. They put those canned slimy mushrooms on there. I try not to go now, but when friends pick this one, I get a burger which is priced high but no slime.

Don’t be fooled by the 80s design and décor — the food is good. Our good family friend lives in Salisbury, and he told us that he’d be at DJ’s for after church lunch. So that’s where we met him. There were several folks there at 12:15ish, and more came as we sat. The menu is quite a conglomeration of salads, sandwiches, wraps, Italian favorites, pizza, entrees, and more. With so many choices, I wasn’t really sure… but the locals were going with wraps and sandwiches. In the end, I opted for the gyro pita with house made chips. J got the pot pie, Cam got the pork chops, others got chicken salad sandwiches. The food was pretty quick. My pita was just what I was expecting — warm and flavorful meat, soft pita, yummy tzatziki sauce, tomato and red onion. The house made chips were very greasy, but a side of blue cheese dressing helped me get over that(my arteries are still recovering…). The pot pie looked amazing — huge portion with nicely flakey crust — but J got through it before I could get a bite. The pork chops also looked tasty(and disappeared quickly) despite the 80s style garnish of orange slice and curly parsley. Mashed potatoes didn’t come with gravy, and green beans looked overcooked. All in all, not a bad stop for a Sunday lunch.

Having grown up in this area DJ’s was always the ‘go to’ after special events in many cases. Late night dessert after dance recitals or sporting events, class get-togethers, 21st birthday parties for those not wanting the long ride to Charlotte… Despite this it’s never impressed me as a high quality food option. As someone else mentioned, many dishes seem to have components reheated from the freezer, especially the Greek offerings. Service tends to be slow and scattered napkins or crumbs on the floor aren’t uncommon. The drinks at the bar are pretty watery and beer offerings are limited. Prices are higher than is justifiable, but you wouldn’t know it by the crowded parking lot. There really are better places to eat in Salisbury. If you want a pizza, or calzone, go to the Salty Caper or Il Colleseo… hell, even Christo’s. That said, DJ’s patio is pleasant in nice weather, but beware the club atmosphere than can descend some nights(unless that’s what you’re looking for).
