An herbalist’s dream come true! I was looking for some medicinal plants for my herb garden and the Herb FARMacy did not disappoint. You want Elecampane? Marshmallow? Yarrow? Borage? This is the place. When I told them I was looking for singing nettles they said they didn’t sell them in the greenhouse anymore… But were nice enough to dig some wild nettle plants out of the field for me.

Let me star off with the con: They are expensive. Definitely more than most home centers. Now for the pros: They are organic — more nutrients for you and your family. They have an enormous selection — looking for a several varieties of heirloom tomatoes or looking to grow ghost peppers, this is the place to get them! They’re knowledgeable — wondering how to grow ghost peppers in northern MA/southern NH, they can help. They’re local — you’re money is going to a group of local people, not an international conglomerate. The bottom line is that you get what you pay for: If you want a bunch of cheap chemical laden plants that arrived from who-knows-where, go to the home improvement stores; of you want quality plants, go here!

Fantastic selection of herbs and some other neat plants — like a million varieties of heirloom tomatoes and lots of unique annuals. Just 2 greenhouses, so don’t expect a huge nursery, but if you are a freakish herb lover like me, it is more than enough. All the plants are happy and healthy, and although I was in the process of moving last growing season and didn’t get over there, last time I was there they had a good deal like 5 plants for $ 20 or something like that. Rita is an amazing source of knowlege and always has time to chat(or is too nice to tell you she doesn’t)
